@Innsmouth @Vergilius: You both have a difference of opinion here. It would perhaps be best to acknowledge this. Put your differences aside. And say no more about it.
Very well. I won't talk to Innsmouth anymore, then.@Innsmouth @Vergilius: You both have a difference of opinion here. It would perhaps be best to acknowledge this. Put your differences aside. And say no more about it.
You're right. I shouldn't even be attempting to go out of my way to convince those that I'm trying to stay on-topic to begin with.Don't feed the trolls as they say.
Fine then. Not everybody can agree on things. That doesn't mean that civilised manners are cast out etc
So far there were no uncivilised conversation, so this doesn't exactly helps this topic to survive. Not everybody can agree on things. That doesn't mean that civilised manners are cast out etc
Actually, no. Not trying to say NT didn't handle some things in the most professional manner, but I can't blame them. A lot of fans when reading whatever Ninja Theory talked about did not understand context and took whatever they wanted from statements no matter how nonsensical it was. And this fanbase berated NT viciously at every turn just because they were doing a job. Fans cast the first stone. Fans were the childish ingrates saying all kinds of BS. They petitioned to the white house for the game's removal, they attacked the developers on a daily basis, even photoshopped that guy's face on gay porn pics, etc. etc.DMC fans are upset with Ninja theory because NT said all kind of bullshit about fans of the original series (and original Dante) during the development of DmC, and when the game came out, it was **** (for DMC standars after DMC3 & DMC4)
So far there were no uncivilised conversation, so this doesn't exactly helps this topic to survive.
Excuse me, what? I just said that if you keep stopping conversation this thread ends, and now you think I trying to get it closed? You definitely point your finger in wrong direction (and by the way it's completely off-topic, so if you want to continue it, it makes sense to do in PM form.)So I'm just asking out of curiousity if you feel like this thread has outlived its purpose?
Perhaps you think it was derailed or whatever. This reminds me of that post I made earlier where I said that some see a bit of arguing/disagreeing as the means to an end for a thread.
The reaction to that one pic does say something to me about some of these fans. It's like they're obviously super offended at the implication of a possibility of Dante being gay. I wouldn't give a sh!t. He's still a badass demon hunter. This looks like a campy joke more than anything. If you've been to any kind of Pride event, you'd know that a leather cowboy is a popular outfit of choice. The only person that should be slighted by this is the costume designer if this is not what they intended.
Dante has always been over the top fabulous~ Even in DmC, Neo Dante costume is essentially a goth/bondage raver boy. Perfect for Lilith's Club stage.
Guys... on-topic please. :nailbiting:And yes, fabulous is also stylish.

If you payed attention for the last couple years, a large majority have shown their true colors and the Devil May Cry fanbase can be just as bad as even Sonic fans.
"Sonic fanbase is great" ..........................................First, I think Sonic fanbase is great, Sonic Retro has a lot on hacks and mods like Sonic 3 complete or Sonic Unleashed stages in Sonic Generations, a LOT of Engineering & Reverse engineering stuff for making your own hacks and modifications to the original games, and
then well, fanfics and all that. The fanbase doesn't seem bad to me at all (or at least, Sonic fanbase's pros are a lot better than it's contras)
Second, That's Capcom fault really, they made a reboot that nobody asked for. Capcom could say that DmC was a spin off, but instead they tried to kill the original series in favor of a reboot. If something like that happens and you are a loyal fan you must be upset (perhaps some fans were really exaggerated but only some, not the entire fanbase)
Yes it is.I would call myself a loyal Devil May Cry fan. I've been a fan since it first came out. And the latest game was still a fun Devil May Cry. So, yea, as a Devil May Cry fan I dig it. But it got to a ridiculous and silly point that it just quite frankly needs. to. stop. It's sad.
I don't think I played a demo more than the Devil May Cry demo when that came with Code Veronica.Yes it is.
DMC1 was my first PS2 game that I had bought for it. I was there ever since its release, as well. I have also noted the shortcomings of the series as well. However, I do not like my fandom being called into question and people accusing me of "having low standards" just because I happen to like DmC
Which is why I'm hopeful for its future. If DmCDE is any indication, we'll have a DmC2 that will not only end the story satisfactorily, but will also rival DMC3 gameplay-wise as well.
And yes. This. Needs. To. Stop. As in, right away.
Same here, only with the DC version of Tony Hawk, instead. It's based around combos, so I can kind of see where you're getting at.I don't think I played a demo more than the Devil May Cry demo when that came with Code Veronica.
I still have that demo for DMC 1. I kept it.Same here, only with the DC version of Tony Hawk, instead. It's based around combos, so I can kind of see where you're getting at.
I never got the Chance (hurr hurr) to play the DMC1 demo myself. I kind of regret it, seeing as how I most likely won't get the opportunity to do so ever again. I'd like to see and compare said demo with the final product.

Plus, they said the original series wasn't discontinued out the gate. Whatever. I would call myself a loyal Devil May Cry fan. (my favorite Devil May Cry game is DMC 1) I've been a fan since it first came out. And the latest game was still a fun Devil May Cry. So, yea, as a Devil May Cry fan I dig it. I'm not so ridiculously offended at the existence of a video game. Nor am I oblivious to the shortcomings of the things that I like. Which is why I can give credit where credit is due when it comes to the latest incarnation pointing out where it even surpasses the originals, and falls short to them. I'm a harder critic especially when it comes to things I like.
The biggest sin the latest game committed for some fans, is just the game being titled Devil May Cry. And quite a bit of those people condemned it then and there and refuse to ever see past their own ignorance and fanboy hatred. Fair enough if you just don't care for it. Not like I can tell you any different. But it got to a ridiculous and silly point that it just quite frankly needs. to. stop. It's sad.
