To haters and fans alike, can you explain why he is emo?

That just goes to how homophobic people think that all gay men are girly and feminine when most of them aren't. The only gay guy I know that is REALLY girly/feminine is one who identifies as female and not male, and s(he) can still beat the ever living **** out of anyone who calls her a fag or other derogatory term.I think when people call him a fag it comes from how he is clearly not invincible in this one, that compared to DMC4 Dante he is going to be nowhere near as untouchable

My friend (he's gay, like most of my guy friends are >.<) punched a kid the other day for doing just that. It was kinda outta character for him, but totally awesome. <3

Cuz it just kinda proves that the haters have no good evidence to call him emo and such. XD
Yeah, thats not awesome. You can't go around punching other people (especially kids) just because they said the word "gay" indirectly. It would be different if the kid called him gay/fag/etc. directly but you still have to watch what you do. Legally, your guy friend would be in the wrong.
But the thread isn't even asking about Nero!

Obviously not intending to offend in any way (I had just seen that episode for the first time like 20 mins prior) here it just means ciggerette.
Oh no, it was a kid who had been bugging him for about the whole year because of him being gay, and he purposely uses that word around him/us because he knows it bothers us. I know my guy friend is in the wrong, but it didn't make the whole thing any less awesome 'cause the kid's a freaking prick.
Lulz. None taken. I love South Park. And yeah, my mom's beau has a friend from the UK who uses "fag" when she's asking for a cigarette every time she's down here.
Or that it's all about having feelings and being able to let them out. Because that's human.
interestingly enough a lot of characters that are assumed to be emo by fans in general are characters that repress their emotions such as Sasuke from Naruto.

I was talking about Naruto, the manga.
I always thought Sasuke repressed his emotions. One of the reasons i disliked him was because i thought he used his past as a excuse not to grow up and move on and he never made an effort to make any friends or any meaningfull relationships because he was never the iniatator. Everyone sought him out not the other way around.
i also never thought of sakura, sasuke and naruto as friends or a succesfull team. I actually think they have the worst teamwork of all the genin teams, even worst then team garra which is bad.
I dont want to get in this more than i have to since i fought a sasuke fangirl over this.

I'm quite sure that's not the same thing although they share roots. From a source with spelling errors as well I don't think that is reliable when looking up words like in a dictionary either.
I haven't watched Naruto though so I can't speak on the subject.

People call Sasuke Emo, due to his cold and sometimes brooding attitude. He's got the cliche dark past, doesn't want to get close to anyone, etc. Similar to the type of character, Squall, from FFVIII. Who also yes, gets called emo. There's also Sasuke's blind rage and somewhat depressing aura he holds around him.
that makes sense but the main reason why i think he is emo is cause he doesn't put any effort in knowing people or making bonds.
i guess he's emo because he now resembles a masculine helena bonham-carter rather than a white-haired david duchovney?
