There is a high probability that DmC will have on disc DLC

Who are you :D?
just some random ghost made out of chocolate

Not my intention for the joke to sound rude but in my personal experience some fans of Ninja Theory have admitted to never have played DMC (ninjatheoryrocks on youtube for example) who say DmC will be their first DMC game.
ah, well i haven't met too many of those, but that's not such a bad thing as long as they don't proclaim they are devil may cry fans. i myself have been a devil may cry fan since 2005. :)

Who cares about DmC for console don Berto :) I will most likely pirate the PC version.
Though something tells me they will cancel PC version.

I wish they not cancel PC or I will go into rage mode, In that I can do serious damage to everything that stands in my way.

The idea of "on disk DLC" is quite ridiculous... I mean you have just bought the disk but you can't fully play it until you have paid to unlock some of its parts? Its completely frustrating. It shouldn't even be called a "DLC" (downloadable content). It can be seen as exiting for fans when you learn that new content has just been delevopped and is now available for you to buy but here... everything is fully developped on your disk...

Normal DLC have always been a controversial issue with clear commercial interests behind them, but what about those "on disk bonuses", is the game way cheaper with every bonus locked then? If not, how could it be a good thing for gamers?

If that's the case it'll be difficult to spot the people who hacked the disc since DmC doesn't have online interactions.

I found berto's point quite interesting and cunning, once you have all the content right on you disk it may be tempting to try to unlock it without paying and then if you keep off-line no one will ever know... However, some security devices can compel you to stay online.

Consider assassin's creed 2, if you wanted to play the game you had to stay connected to the ubisoft servers and if for whatever reason the connection broke...you just had to stop playing. Numerous players responded with heavy criticism and loads of complaints, in the end I say "never underestimate the stupid things video game companies can do"....

i'm also curious on this topic now because this is basically ninja theory making the game i believe, with a little help from capcom every now and again, so i wonder if ninja theory would agree with capcom putting locked on disk content on the game?

Knowing Capcom, if NT refuses, they'd probably just cancel the whole game. Just look at what happened with Mega Man Legends 3. It got canceled because ONE GUY, Keiji Inafune, left.

this is true. i'm starting to lose more and more respect for capcom everyday lol

EDIT: well wait a second, idk about that because think about all the money capcom has put into this game and for no profit (if they cancelled the game) that would hurt capcom alot more than help them.

DmC is Capcom´s property. Let me repeat that so that i make myself perfectly clear.

DmC is Capcom´s property.

And whatever they do with DmC is up to them. NT is there to just develop the game.

But NT could back out. They still have control over the project.

and like i said with all the money that CAPCOM has put into this project it would be very bad on capcom if ninja theory backed out. capcom loses millions, ninja theory doesn't lose anything and might even gain a little bit of credit since they wouldn't support the practice of locked on disc content

If they do they get no money. Money that NT studio desperately needs.
Money is a reason why independent companies like NT would take assignments from producers.

Considering the arrogant attitude of NT towards DMC fans, i am pretty sure NT will take more damage than anything if they back out.
Though people will give them credit for anti-Disc locked content attitude they still have said a lot.

good point, but from what i've heard ninja theory has already begun on another project, so they must have at least some type of money to produce a new project.

heres a thought. How many people care about the pc version? now think to yourself how many people care about the console version?

Now from a companies point of view which of the two is netting them more money?

that telling you they won't make it on pc is called profit. Making on pc is netting as much a profit as the console version and people like you, who pirate it, are why it most likely isn't going to happen.

If you crack the on disc dlc, if it even has any, then good for you. But the whole game is a different story.

They planned to expand to two game studio, but were held back because of Enslaved sales. I don´t know if DmC saved them or saved their plans to expand their studio, but all i know is that they desperately need money. And honestly i think it´s good that NT is being active in developing games for producers, but they disrespected fans to much with their arrogant attitude :P

And yeah i think they have started with new project.

Perhaps i won´t even pirate it :) Because i don´t find the game much to be honest.
But i would like to play demo on ps3 to see how it is!

Well you could plug your Ps3 or Xbox control to PC :P

And i am pirating DmC because i don´t want to support Capcom or NT. Capcom are greedy scums so it appears, and NTs leader is pretty arrogant.

I may not pirate it. Cause when i think about it the game does´t appeal to much to me.
But i would like to try the demo on ps3 if they ever release one :)

If you would look at more recent interviews, NT's "leader", Tameem, has been far less arrogant. You're still going off of that bad first impression. It's unhealthy to hold grudges you know...

Not really, i am going by overall impression.

I´ve felt pity for the guy many times and thought "He does´t seem to bad", but when i read certain statements he sounds so darn arrogant that its beyond belief :P

post these offending statements. Most thinigs he's said so far come off as bad but are more or less true.

see arrogant DMC fans. thats not exactly false, if you've been in capcom unity you know what i mean.... but it's a direct insult to "A" fanbase, not exactly theirs considering this is a different lineage in dmc and they don't have to appeal to them.

Also be sure not to confuse Tameem with Alex

I see what you did there.

Anyway. It's not likely that they'll cancel the PC version, delay, yeah, but not cancel. The last 2 DMC games had PC ports and DMC4 even had an extra featured mode so they'll provably keep the PC version.

they could delay it. Then after a few moths after being on consoles and seeing the sales do what from software did. Release a version with extras and cash in on the pc version. That way they can release those extras on consoles for a price and profit.

Of course that would mean they at some point thought about doing on disc dlc, which is what they could do with the above. Here's how capcom could twist the above. Instead of adding extras they could already have it on disc locked out and release it a few weeks after the pc release for a price.

But a smart thing to do would be build hype for a pc version, delay it for awhile and release it with extras. Then release those extras on consoles. How does that sound to you berto?

well sounds to me that this article is mostly talking about dragon's dogman, and says nothing about DmC. the last thing capcom needs to do to drive away customers is put locked on disc content for DmC.
It's the last thing they need to do, but on disc DLC is in fact on the top of their priorities for all games, but they cannot sue, This is a known fact due to when Take Two tried to sue Hot Coffee modders. The difference was Take Two didn't lock that out of pure greed, but out of censorship , so if we unlock the disc through the perfectly legal methods than the result =View attachment 151
