The Skeptics Are Here To Stay(in defense of skeptics, but also looking for new pro-DmC forum)

Can I just say that most of the criticism is based on gameplay and no offence to some but if one were to correctly use their brain when talking about DmC's combat they would make the logical assumption that the gameplay would become more like DMC4 if they made a sequel. Not exactly like DMC4 but getting there. All the skeptics have zero reason to hate anything but the combat which would improve provided a sequel is made. I feel like all skeptics just like the DMC name with the way they state how a 5 would be so much better (even with a so-so story and the gameplay being only a little bit better than a DmC sequel's would be). THINK about it - at the end of DmC the two worlds merged so there is no more world shifting which implies that the next game would be 60+ fps on next gen consoles!!!!!

There is other reasons to not like DmC actually, other than the combat.

This is my opinion but I know there is people that agrees with me on these points.

For example, I don't like the new Dante, he's more of an asshole than a wacky cocky demon hunter. The story itself is just.... bland really. It's basically a demon version of the movie They Live and I can't help to think about it everytime I see those subtle messages in Limbo. Maybe a little better than the other stories in the previous DMC games but not by much.

So yeah, there is more to not like than just the combat.

It looks like a H&S game to me.
I've played it on PC, i couldnt resist even 1 hour.
The game wasnt quality for me.
Animations were joke, it looks they used 90's motion capture tech. Characters mouth only opening and closing (you know what i mean)
I didnt like the 3d modelings too.
There wasnt even a proper story.
I dont like RPG and knights&dungeons concepts (cause there so many)
And for combat. I was just playing it with 2 mouse buttons, it was reallynothing special. There were just a few pause combos ang switches. And weapons were almost same, upgrades only made damage increase and skin change.
Then i give up the game.

Dude, i can name many movies which looks similar to DmC. To me it reminds me of The Matrix.
Similar stories dont mean they are bland.
There must be thousands of SCARY movies which have the same story.
There are thousands of DRAMA movies which looks the same.
Which game do you like? Lets say FAR CRY 3 (which AngryJoe gave 9 i guess so he must like the story)
But hey, the story reminds me of HUNDREDS of standart movies.
So what are we gonna do? ''Meh...story, i donno, someone already done that''

I remember when DmC's Nightclub stage shown some of you haters comment ''HEY F--- YOU TAMEEM, YOU'VE STOLE THAT FROM LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW''
Desinging stages takes years! But those hater azzholes thinks they can do it in 1 week.

I don't like it either, but the combat was superb. The game is an Action RPG btw.

And really, you can blame yourself for the last part, you were mindlessly spamming because you wanted to, but there is a ton of depth there, it's not just "a few pause combos and 2 mouse buttons".

Similar stories have been done before sure, doesn't change the fact that the story in DmC still is bland and told in an uninteresting way, though the Limbo concept was pretty neat. Plus the plotholes too.

Don't try the "HATERS" argument with me, it's pointless and doesn't add anything to the discussion.

DmC does have a few plot issues as pretty much 99% of all games do. I love the game but just because someone who does not brings up a criticism in a polite, non offensive manner does not make him or her a douche who wants to Murder Tameem.

Capcom and NT had an idea/opinion about DmC. And they insulted them from the begining till now (still going).

I've been thinking of getting this game, it doesn't look like super advanced techniques like in DMC4 are used but the depth with everything combined looks pretty big. In certain ways it looks like a much more advanced Prototype combat system (With the select wheel 'n all), which in prototype I really liked but the lack of any real depth kinda made the 'master' point way to close.

Well the stuff with Nero's hand can be seen in a million different anime's sadly. As for Angry Joe, I just have issue with the game getting the same score as Lollypop Chainsaw.

If only the game had more pure melee combos for the weapons, it would definitely be a contender with the best Hack slashers. Infact give the DMC a crack at what's already there, modifying the weapons (imagine Buckler as a sort of royal guard kinda thing for instance), and you'd have a combat system that's... forever.

Then he bought the game, made a review, he said he like the gameplay, stages, music, content etc..

But magicly he changed Dante into an Emo with a pop music video. But he never dislike it when he played the demo. And obviously he has no idea how an Emo boy looks like :

Yeah I can respect his opinion but his review seem off, especially given such a small issue. I am also really sick of the emo thing. I got it when NT showed the 2010 trailer and Twilight had just exploded and everyone hated emo, vampire looking characters but the new Dante is 0% emo at all. i know real emo people and Dante is nothing like that! Black hair does not equal emo lol
