Does Ninja theory deserv to pay tribute to their country with flag on main character's jacket?

Yes, but Tameem said the reason they changed DmC to a punk theme is because DMC Dante was old and outdated! That when DMC was released it was cool related to it's release year!

So he is contradicting himself by making DMC a punk inspired game!

DMC 1 Project and DmC project (espescially with what Tameem have said) are two different situations.


DMC 1 was created and noone knew of how the game was. It was a NEW game.
DmC is a reboot of DMC, and Tameem explained "reason for DmC Dante change is because....".

Ahh, I give up. I've been saying no, no, no to all of this and all's I've been getting is but, and you fail to see, and you're wrong. That I've been ignoring things and that I'm outdated for liking punk (which still exists) and this and that. Obviously, my opinions are useless. Don't quote me. I'm unwatching this thread.

And punk movement is 41 years old! Where as DMC Dante is 11 years old.
The story of DmC is "half demon and a group of punks fights against the controll of the "goverment" (demons)"

I don't know what's cool nowdays. You don't either. Ninja theory clearly don't either. If we are thinking of something that's cool in most countries. So it's subjective thinking of what's cool. And so they probably have a british standpoint on the game.

DMC Dante might not be cool anymore among youths. But who says Punk movement is? Who says Smoking is cool?

Smoking is cool. It's really unhealthy and it can kill you, but it is hella cool. I smoke and I get some attention that many others do not. It gives that 'I don't give a f*ck' attitude which is considered really cool amongst young people. I get MANY comments thrown in my face, people are being REALLY rude to me, just because I smoke, but I don't care about that. I smoke where I am allowed to smoke and do what I can not to be hazardous against other people, but still people are being really rude to me. However, it looks cool, it feels cool; it definately has a cool factor to it. And I don't want to quit.
When I saw Dante smoking, I thought that was awesome and it gave him that 'I don't give a f*ck' aura to him. I was surprised though, as typically American standards are very kindergarden teacher like, people saying 'no no, smoking is bad'. But Dante doesn't give a f*ck! And that's awesome!
Smoking is bad for you, but it's cool. Especially to the younger audience.

Swag, my friend, Swag. Originality, Diversity, and Style, if you don't have these three components of awesomeness under your belt, you are an outcast in society. That's why I don't agree with Tameem, because anybody who sees Dante would obviously consider him a cool dude. Heck, I told one of my friends about Nero and he wanted to play DMC4 after that. Seriously, Tameem's understanding of culture is as short- sighted and ignorant as Herman Cain's foreign policy.

Smoking is not cool. It's something kids do to get accepted.
If you show kids the side effects of smoking right infront of them i can assure you they will not say "Smoking is cool" after that.

You sound like a kindergarden teacher. I guess you don't smoke. But when I smoke and kids look at me, they are more 'WHAUW!' than they are 'EWW!' XD
I am talking teens here, not small kids who don't understand anything. And believe me, teens here knows all about how unhealthy smoking is. They still think it is cool.

Many of these teens grow up to regret smoking and encourages other not to do that.
If smoking is cool do you think these "teens" who thought "WHAUW!" will tell their kids "Son if you must smoke to be cool, then do it".
And you sound like a teen.

If I ever get kids, I will do the same. I will tell my kids that smoking is unhealthy and that it can kill them. It doesn't change the fact that it is overall considered cool to smoke amongst the younger audience.

My dear, there are plenty of people who are cooler than you that do not smoke. Why? Because those people have something called Swag :cool:. But in all seriousness, if you get rude comments about a practice that's unhealthy, I understand that you don't have to listen to them, but its best to stop anyways especially when said comments are directed at the fact that you are doing something suicidal. Now in other cases such as if you have a "I don't give f*ck" feeling when you smoke, you are not cool, you're just careless. If you know something is killing you and you don't care about that, you are not cool, you're suicidal. And if you think all that makes you cool, you're not cool, you're delusional. I'm young and I don't think smoking's cool, and there are alot of youths that feel the same way. So the idea of "smoking is cool" is sort of... cliche' unless the person in question is completely and utterly bad@$$ and is already in a position where he/she might die in the next two seconds. If you're not in such a position and don't fit any of the requirements said above, put the cigarette down and go get one of those fake cigarettes, because you're not cool. Nope, not at all, and I'm not speaking out of pure opinion, I'm telling it straight with the Wisdom of King Solomon and the Love of the great I Am.

That is true, but the younger audience is an easy target. When focusing on what is 'cool', game developers rarely focus on what the elderly audience think, because we are alot more critical than the younger audience. The younger audience are alot easier to please. That's what I think, anyways, based on my personal experiences as a gamer and as a future game developer myself. ^^
Anyways, uhm, we've been off-topic for a long time though. Maybe we should go back on the main topic? Depends on the OP though as this is his thread.

I started smoking because I thought it was cool. Now it is just a bad habit, but I'm not going to stop. I know it is stupid and silly and many people dislike it, but that's just how it's going to be. I'm not going to spill my guts on a public forum like this, but I have my reasons for not quitting, that's all I'm going to say.
Anyways, sorry for going all off-topic again. :S
