Hell, there's currently an entire movement in the gaming community about that one
Don't even bring up that ridiculous Gamergate stuff. It's so stupid.

Pretty much the definition of "first world problems" and it isn't a movement about better ethnics in gaming journalism. It's just a bunch of angry geeks starting up an internet lynch mob after Zoe Quinn's dirty laundry went public.

Can't believe a troll made us flip through three pages of a topic he has made no effort to create.

You won this battle, troll. I hope you cherish it.

It's like how the Weird Al song goes:

Bite the hand that feeds you
Bite off more than you can chew
Dare to be Stupid

O_o

o....k...

Sunny, professional reviews consist of readable or watchable breakdowns. Reading or watching the review will give you a sense of what you're getting into.

Also, there's no need to take shots at a PR or a product that didn't stand a chance against the bad fanbase that DMC and Bayonetta has spawned. If you really wanna know if the PR was horrible or not, just watch them from beginning to end. They did the exact same thing any other developer has done. Dodge questions, vague answers, and reassurance.

When I wrote that I was thinking about all the times people point out the final numbers in the review. This is the stuff they cry about if it doesn't go high enough, and I say don't care about it, try the game for yourself if you are not sure.

Actually, when I said consistency and finished product, I meant DMC series as a whole. The series kept changing things, meaning the fanbase is full of people with different taste. That kind of fanbase is more likely to clash. Also, DMC4 (and I guess DMC2 as well) left a lot open, you don't do reboot while you still have some big things that need to be answered.
Yes, there is nothing reassuring like saying more than once your beloved hero looks ridiculous and you should totally ditch him. I'm pretty sure no other developer, at least not the big ones, was lacking that much tact.
I personally don't care about the game, whether reviews were high or not, I'd still not buy it cause it's simply not my cup of tea. I'd still appreciate some respect for my admiration of old Dante, thank you very much.

You obviously never saw me in 2012, I could stir up a 5 page clusterfuck by posting a joke thread where I sent people to a ponified version that "Moskau" song under the guise of being Vergil's Downfall footage.
Honestly though, since we've changed the topic to whether or not reviewers have been paid off.
I have to admit, I believed it long before gamergate, and not just for the cash cows and what not. But for genuine good games too (INCLUDING this one), I mean, I loved GTA:IV, I loved Bayonetta, but there is no way a person trained and hired to review both the pros and cons of a game would give anything a 10/10.
The one thing that struck me interesting about gamergate had nothing to do with the movement itself, but rather that the users looked over the Steam playtime of these Journalist to reveal they barely play around an hour before releasing a full fledged review of the game (INCLUDING Replay Value, when an hour is probably not enough to get to a second playthrough)
That's why I always remember to knock each Gameinformer review I read down roughly .5 to 1 points based around what the reviewer said that seemed odd given the information I know

Provide the link where they said that or the exact quote that made you think that.

Ok, I take that back. I'll stop caring about the game when Cacpcom gets their heads out of their assholes....

Hey uh can ya go check out them mascot heads in the back. I was always wondering what inside those empty heads...ya know?

I'll stop hating the game when the guys at Capcom can get their heads out of their asses
Tyrant, without backseat moderating, as one skeptic of the game to another, I'm gonna give you a piece of advice.
Respect.
From my almost 3 years on here now, I cannot tell you how many skeptics I've seen laughed out, regardless of the validity of their point, because they had to word it in a way that just screamed 'You're wrong and this game sucks!'.
The reason members like ToCool74 and I have made it as long as we have is because we only attack what we felt was wrong with the game, and never try to attack the parts we actually liked/the game as a whole.
It not only removes their ability to label us as butthurt fanboys, but it also shows that we know what we're doing.
I've had too many good soldiers chased off the forum because of this. I don't want more of em taken
