So What About Guys Like Me?

That's not on- topic either.

Okay then.

NOW ON-TOPIC

Here's one thing I am worried about with DmC. DMC1 had unlimited ammo added to it and you could be able to shoot bullets non-stop. I've heard rumors that DmC will be the first DMC game to break this chain and add a cool-down system to the guns E & I this time around. So I'm wondering is that true? Sorry if not on topic still, just a small question.

No, the game demos we've seen so far don't show one.

who even started the cool-down theory?
It was probably just made up after the TGS2010 trailer since Dante didn't rapid fire at all. He was shooting more like the gun style in Equilibrium.

All DMC games have unlimited ammo. I don't think you need to worry about gun cool downs. Maybe there could be a way to upgrade your fire rate but nothing has been confirmed about any upgrades yet.

hmmm....so something made up by an angry fan more than likely lol
well from what i've seen of DmC the fire rate is just as quick as ever.

I hope you have to actually press box to shoot everytime and it doesn't auto fire like dmc4. DMC3 had the best shooting by far espeically when doing rain storm, the faster you mash the button the more bullets you fire.

yeah i hope so too, i like being able to shoot more depending on how much effort i put in.

hmm in regards to that, i agree but if they do that they'll need to incorprate some kind of mechanic that increases rate of fire for each upgrade. otherwise guns wont be that useful. what i DO want is a way to incorporate guns into sword combos. that would be different for each gun. eg with ebony and ivory you'd do a move like Dante did on his way down temingru in DMC3. while using the shotgun would let you shoot them in the head with a shot gun to the face.

DMC2 had a nice system with the shot gun, after each slash of rebellion, with the shotgun equipped, Dante would preform a series of different actions depending on which part of the combo when you pressed box. It would be sweet in E&I had something like that, like after the que from the sword, you could either continue the combo or press box for a devil arm attack, which could easily be upgraded to longer most stylish moves.

i really want a "semi" taunt ish move. where after a series sword attacks you press the gun button. causing you to knee demon in the stomach making them bend forward. you then shove your gun into their mouth and pull the trigger (maybe saw a witty remark b4) i know its silly. but its moves like that which would make this game

Yeah I loved that about DMC3. The faster you tap the button the more bullets you fire. Anyone else notice that this mechanic is only used in the great DMC's but not in 2 or 4? It's like DMC1 and DMC3 got special tratment while 2 and 4 got the sloppy seconds.

Uh...don't use auto mode then? I
n manual mode, a single press equates to a single shot.

Regarding the Cool-down theory, I'm not entirely sure.

If you look at the above screen of the HUD, You can see E&I displayed where the Devil Trigger gauge would sit. Unless this is a momentary pop-up simply informing the player of which weapon they've selected, or perhaps there is something to the cool-down theory, and the gun symbol acts as a kind of gauge bar in itself. (Gradually turning from white, to yellow to orange to red indicating an overheating.)

I wouldn't mind a cool-down period for the guns, it may add another level of challenge/strategy to the game, but from what we've seen, the guns are taking a permanent backseat to sword combat, especially considering the Demon pull and Angel Zoom making it very easy to get to your target.

speaking of the gun symbol, i only saw it in the pieces of footage that were from germany. i never saw it anywhere else, so i wonder what this means. :P

The Cool-down might actually work if it's done properly, the hotter the guns, the bigger the damage  Like in the Ratchet and Clank mini game:
