dont forget the all important THAT

Think of it like this: DMC 1 was the base. DMC 3 just added to it. I haven't played the first (I think the HD Collection should be the next game I get xD), but from what I've seen and heard the sequels followed the same formula as the first. In reality, creating the 'feel' of DMC 3 is the same as creating the 'feel' of DMC 1 because DMC 1 is what started it all.

Yeah but there's a contrast between it and the rest of the series.

You do realize the only platforming we've seen is basically a tutorial level. The boss fight has a bit of platforming in it but the fight is set up to win in several different ways.

I know, but in most platforming games even the tutorial level was fairly complex, just enough to demonstrate the mechanics. If any game introduces platforming as a mechanic, I would like for it to be a little more intricate then it be a series of Demon Pulls, Angel Grabs, and Angel Glides

really? i am, it looks difficult and frustrating. the kind of thing that makes you scream HELL YEAH! when you finish it. they say one guy died on the church one 74 times so they had to tone it down. NOW THAT is a game i wanna play.

For the platforming? I would like it to be difficult but not take 74 times to beat. That's just insane.

Perfect platforming for me would be something like Prince of Persia. Dante has similar moves to the Prince (Wall Run, Wall Jump, etc.) so I think it would be easy implement that same level of design for each platforming section of the game.

For example, if I were to do the Church scene, I would have it so that in- between the first to platforms is just a jump. Then in- between the third and fourth is an Angel Grab to a church seat, then the church extends itself again so I would need to jump and Angel Glide on to the next platform. Then between the fourth and final platform (where the marked window is), I would need to Wall Run, Angel Grab a seat, Wall Run again, Angel Grab again, then Jump and Angel Glide onto the platform. And because I'm a troll, the final platform would seperate itself so that the marked window is a good distance a way. This is where a series of church seats would start floating in the air but you won't just Angel Grab your way through them. You would Angel Grab onto one, then Jump, Glide, and Grab onto the next one. Then you jump again, Grab the next one, then just Wall Run over to the window, Jump, Grab it, and that would be the end of the sequence.

Your idea for enemy design and their AI is a really good idea. DMC 1 made you think every fight feel like you were fighting for your life and NT should definitely try that approach but only time will tell.

I hope they do so.

DmC is not a platforming game. So why compare it to the God of all platforms? Lets compare the combat while we're at it.
I won't because we already know.

That is a really good idea, but i haven't seen any wall running in DmC so far. Are you talking about a new game with different mechanics thats follows more of a platformer than hack and slash? DmC is an all around hack and slash game, the platforming extends from the existing abilities that Dante uses in combat. Hence the push and pull mechanic. The only thing that is some what out of place is the angel dash. Since you have to jump to use it unlike past trickster styles it doesn't really seem in place in the combat of the game. I don't think DmC will ever have really complicated platforming, just staged sequences that involves jumping, dashing, and pulling yourself and pulling things out/away/ towards you. Which is better than anything DMC has ever did. I think of the Platforming in DmC is still just a means to get from point A to B but in a more cinematic way and still driving the story along.

I hope they do so.
=)

I love that Idea this much...

Uhhh... What does that face mean? It's somewhere between sarcasm and... crazy b*tch.

It is a new internet meme called Crazy Girlfriend and it is all because of that image and so many different things can be put with it.

Like "I sold all your Pokemon Games. The Female Gym Leaders were too hot."

its some chick who traded in her boyfriend's pokemon games because she thought the female gym leaders were too hot and therefore competition.

so its like a back-handed compliment.
