So...is he stronger?

Eh I just always thought DMC4 Dante looked like a rodeo clown, however I will say Dante's original DMC getup looked pretty badass to me.

He's a cowboy, a symbol of classic heroism, just as his father was a chivalrous knight.

Classic Dante never needed to wear women like jewelry. He also never did this:

Every time I see this image I laugh so hard I fall out of my chair.

What's there to laugh about. Its a very well done painting of a child who has to suffer through his mother's death.

You can't compare 19 year old DmC Dante to 40 year old Uncle Dante.

By the time DmC Dante is 40 years old, he'd be absolutely unstoppable.

I know but still they look... weird.

He seems like he's had his fare share.

Isn't the reason he can carry her is because hes strong?

Yeah I don't really see what's so funny about the picture either but whatever.
Too bad I can't even take Uncle Dante the cowboy seriously.

wow. A guy i know who said his name was Dragonmaster said that exact same thing.^_^ He seems to really hate DMC4 though.:/
Yeah don't worry about it. I don't really like DMC4 myself but everyone has their reasons and their own opinions. You might play it and love it, it might even be your future favorite. The point is, always try something for yourself and only go by your opinions and no one else's.

DMC4 is the go-to game for DmC fanboys to try and tear down to make their flop look better by comparison (`~`)
I love DMC4 I even cosplayed as Dante from that game over all of the others but if I can't laugh about something I love, such as the chaps, there is no point in living

It's also come to my attention..or it has for a little while now that we haven't been on topic since a little after the first page  I haven't been as big into forums as I used to maybe this is how it works now >.<

I know. I'm just saying though.^_^

It's the fact that it's a child holding up his mother's body like she weighs nothing. With a bit of decent composition the concept could have worked, with Dante kneeling in despair as he grasps Eva's supine form, but our brains are hard-wired to find it bizarre when an infant is capable of carrying a fully grown woman. Show that image to a layman and see what reaction you get.

This image is clearly meant to be an homage by Pieta, one of the most commonly ripped off sculptures in history. In case you don't know, it's Mary holding the body of the fallen Jesus.

An inversion of the concept, with the savior holding his fallen mother, could have been quite artful if it just made the image look like this instead of this:

...or this for that matter:

You are right of course, but Classic Dante was nineteen when he had access to Royal Guard, and New Dante is older I believe.

I dunno, you could always put him up against this guy:

Even if he was only a kid he is a demon angel so lifting someone who is probably just over a hundred pounds doesn't seem that unlikely since he can punch around and pull a succubus who weights several tons like its nothing

You're missing the fact that he did that twenty years later, but okay.

Of course in game there's an explanation, but without knowing that Dante is a superhuman it looks like farce. Besides that, the whole point of the image is to make us sympathise with New Dante and see that he has been grievously harmed. The composition of the shot should emphasize this by having him in a state of physical weakness through his pose, such as kneeling, not lifting a 160 pound woman like she weighs nothing.

The concept of the piece is good, but the execution misses the point entirely. It's a microcosm of DmC as a whole.

Well I've played DMC1 on DMD mode so I think I can handle it.
The only thing thats bad about DMC4 is that when you play as Dante you have to go through the same levels that Nero went through. The only thing thats wrong about this Dante is fan service. Ok in DMC1 Dante was matured. In DMC2 he was even more mature.DMC3 was a prequel so he was young and immature. The time line in DMC is 3124(now im not sure if DMC4 is the last in the timeline). So how come Dante went to becoming Mature(DMC1) to acting like a kid again in DMC4? See what i mean. They made Dante in DMC4 act like DMC3 Dante to try to appeal to the fans of number 3 but it didn't work out to well.
