So...is he stronger?

Personally I think this about sums it up.

i told you to go back to /v/ s*******

Old Dante is over powered. This Dante is over powered as well. How the hell can a dude that hasnt had not one lick of training beat a ****ing demon king thats been living for thousands of ****ing years. Its makes no sense. This goes for the old Dante and the new Dante. Old Dante was only like 23 or something i dont know all i know he was in his 20s when he defeated Mundus(i think), and for the new Dante. This dude is only like 17,19 and he beats a demon king. WTF. Sparda did not beat mundus in the reboot. Sparda was pansy in the reboot but, he rose through the ranks with Mundus. So you can say they were somewhat equals. Dante, a teenager kills a demon king. Something his father who has over maybe 2 thousand years of experience couldnt beat. That makes no damn sense. They are just both over powered but, original Dante would beat older Dante. The original Dante has more experience then the new Dante.

Can you read?

Don't be an ass.

Oh.

I don't know what royal guard is?

Pick up DMC3 and give it a try, I hope you enjoy it.

Royal Guard is a difficult to master but very rewarding fighting style available in 3 and 4. In essence it allows Classic Dante to block any attack provided he times his defence just right, then release the power of the attack right back at his enemies greatly magnified. If it's mastered correctly, it allows the player to take on the mightiest bosses, take no damage and executing them with a single counter-attack. A good Royal Guard player is a sight to behold, and a real challenge to emulate.

Notice the bright flash whenever Beowulf's fist strikes Dante; that is caused by the player hitting O at just the right moment.

New Dante doesn't really have any abilities that can compete with a decent Royal Guard player. The fact that he killed Mundas outright and his status as a "Nephilim" (WRONG!) are clearly meant to illustrate that he is betterer than Classic Dante, but it's just as insubstantial as how he needs to have women all over him to look impressive.

I can't get over how much I hate this image.

Looks pretty hard.

Yep. Killer i think you need to play the older games first. The HD collection is cheap now a days anyway.
I'm not forcing you though.

I'd have to agree. The only training Dante has had was he apparently been to limbo before and been beating down demons for some of his life. If you read the new comic you see he was imprisoned in hell by demons for a while too but i'm not too sure how much that can really contribute to anything. So the only thing that we could say made him so strong was his angel/ demon thing going on and even then it's a toss up.

I decided to watch a bit of gameplay for all the other games, and I so far like DMC3 the best. DMC1 will have a place in my heart, but DMC3 looks really fun. DMC2...uh...like, what happened? DMC4 also looks good, but whos the new guy with the arm?

He's Nero, like you said "the arm guy" is all you gotta know going into the game. I suggest just watching the cut-scenes or playing the game. Don't let us spoil you here before finding out yourself :) Also to this day we still don't exactly know who and what he is.

I know that, but which Dante was the one with the sword in his chest? and could you give me a full body pic of him?

That's DMC4 Dante, also affectionately known as Uncle Dante by the fans. He's the most powerful we've seen Classic Dante, with a huge repetoire of Demonic weapons and the ability to shift Style method on the fly.

He's also a flippant goofball.

Whos argosax and abigail? are they in the other games cause I've only played DmC and DMC1.

Argosax The Chaos is a demon from DMC2. He's kind of a pansy because DMC2 is laughably easy (Much like New Mundas), but in canon he's meant to be pretty tough.

Abigail is a villian from the anime who is meant to be on par with Mundas, but I imagine his combat prowess stems from his enemies dying of laughter because he has a girly name.

I'm watching the cutscene with Nero and Dante fighting in the church. OMG Dante shot the priest!

Um...what's with the chaps?

Um...what's with the chaps?

He's a cowboy, a symbol of classic heroism, just as his father was a chivalrous knight.

I found that image funny. It gave me hope that this Dante was like the old Dante.

Classic Dante never needed to wear women like jewelry. He also never did this:

Every time I see this image I laugh so hard I fall out of my chair.

Don't dis the chaps! They are how he could use all of his styles on the fly in DMC4 otherwise there would be too much chafing when switching between them to often. The boot covers though..maybe a little too much but eh I still liked the whole outfit. MY favorite though was Dante's getup in the anime since it was very similar to how he looked in DMC1 but his coat was more of a coat
