So far, don't the weapons seem less unique and interesting than those present in previous DMC's?

Which they have - Osiris has Feed, so it slowly builds up its attack power as it is used successively. Arbiter busts through shields, and otherwise blasts enemies away when they get hit to create some breathing space. Each weapon also has uses outside of combat, like carving up vines or smashing brittle walls. How else is something supposed to "work differently" other than the actual functions a weapon is supposed to have; power, speed, reach, and additional effects? Seriously, in what way can a weapon "work differently" like you keep saying?

I didn't say that at all, that's just...why the Eryx are used differently. It's part of this Dante's "rough around the edges" style, same with how his Rebellion animations show a lot more force behind his swings, because he stumbles on the follow-through. This Dante just has a different kind of style that the classic did.
We have different views when it comes to creativity and imagination, let us agree that we disagree on certain aspects and both wait for the finished game to decide in finality on whether the weapons are generic or imaginative.

Dude, the Eryx can charge too Y'know. And cerberus made ice or not, it's still a weapon that "smack smack smacks" like Osiris can "slash slash slash"

When you think about it, Cerberus only froze certain enemies weak to it, and Crystal and Million Carats' ice effects were really just that, effects. They're just hitboxes born from an input, given an effect themed after ice. No different from Overdrive's shockwave, Eryx's charged up phantom fists, or Arbiter's Trinity Smash phantoms.

They certainly aren't generic, if they were, it'd just be like a dude swinging a weapon, like playing Skyrim or something. There is imagination to them in all those things I posted (Rake, Trinity Smash, Eryx's charges etc). Whether they are more or less imaginative than other weapons is really just opinions, because you can't really quantify something like that :/

I dont really like the demon weapons atm since it seems like im getting half a weapon. Both have 3 hit basic and pause combos and no air combo. The Arbiter cant do consecutive hits on some enemies since it has a knock back effect. The should have more ground combos since they lack an air combo.

Everything has a purpose. Against smaller enemies, Arbiter is much better in finishers, you really just need to learn the properties of each weapon.

It's also difficult for me to care too much about not having many aerial combos, considering I played all the DMCs before, and usually stuck with Gunslinger, where you really only got one aerial melee attack.

If I can ruin a enemies life with it I do not care how it looks or what attacks I have as long as I can kill it,that is all I care about now if I hit an enemy with the weapon and they just stand there looking at me with a 'Lolz Idiot' look on their face then kill me then I have a problem.
