Silent Hill f

It's going to be a busy year.
I'm generally liking the game but there are a few things that are rubbing me the wrong way. For one, there is a ripple effect when you hit or block some of the attacks. There are a few different effects, actually. Slashes, impacts, waves. Then there's scream from Sakuko at the end of the trailer. That effect is not too different from the one the opera singer robot did in Nier Automata. These effects don't belong in a grounded horror like SH. They're action game effects, or at least something less based on the limitations of a normal person or for creatures from that world.
There's also the actress who plays Hinako. She's very pretty but the game doesn't capture that. She looks like the actress but she also looks, well, not as good as her. I think they should've modeled her rather than scanned her into CG. Making her by had they could've captured her better. It wouldn't be identical but if she was recognizable it would've been enough.

I don't know the game's budget, but it could be that assets from other titles have been added in to save money.

Still doesn't feel like a real Silent Hill game to me anyway. So it seems Konami are basically saying that anything with fog now or monsters can qualify as being "part" of the series. When we know the town of Silent Hill is, well... supposed to be Silent Hill!

As of right now, I have a "no 50" rule for games I buy. If they are over 50 $ or 50 hrs, I will not buy them. I am still not sure if I'll count Steam sales towards the sub-$50 restriction.

Either way, sadly, SHf is SEVENTY dollars, so it definitely does not pass my "no 50" rule lol. But I would like to play it eventually. Despite my dislike for where the franchise is going.

It's funny, I was watching a 4-hr retrospective on SH4 recently by AesirAesthetics. And he also pointed out that SH2 being the inspiration for the future of the franchise is a bit misguided, even from a thematic perspective. But oh well, it is what it is.

SH2 DLC SIGN ME UP. Playing Maria again in that UE5 town yes that would be great.

After watching the making of video from @Lain ,I think It might be interesting. At least give it a chance and see if it really works.

Hey, @mert20004. Are you interested in playing this game, or RE9?

Are you hoping Ada returns?
I'm not a Silent Hill fan so no interest for any Silent Hill games and I don't have any interest for RE9uiem in general either since I still didn't play REVillage so no hope for that game whatsoever. Please don't mention my name, thank you.

Quite looking forward to this, all these silent hil games and resi and sh remakes makes me wish parasite eve was brought back or remade.
Yeah, at least Square can do a remastered collection for PE. They do NOT seem risk-averse for doing re-releases of older classics. A full on remake, I'd doubt, too financially risky.

Anyway, I really want to play SHf. $70 makes me reluctant. As does the prospect of the lore changing for the fog. But the latter is an unknown and I'll give the game a chance still, in terms of lore. But man...I'm really trying to avoid higher-priced games.
