sequel already being planned

So long as there's no parts where you're forced to play as Dante, I'd have no qualms with him being there. Hell, a choice between characters would be nice.

i think that was capcoms plan with dmc4 slowly introduce nero to begin a new arc in the devilmaycry series. Dantes arc would be over, ala DMC2, and a new arc, neros story and other such things, would begin.
 
i always thought 5 was going to be a passing of the torch story. taking place shortly after DMC2, we go into the fact that VERGIL WAS NEROS FATHER!! and stuff like that, till the final scene is Dante handing over ebony and ivory to the scrawny punk and the keys to the store. then we see him and trish (and lady too maybe :troll:) ride off in the awesome way they do...but industry is rarely that kind. hopefully NT will introduce Nero, i think they will as they already have an "Order" so he could just be a recruit that gets demon powers infused into him by accident or via some weird experiment.
 
According to Capcom they made Nero's story evident in DMC4 so there's very little to sudgest a Nero oriented game.

If there's to be a continuation of Nero's story it'll be via another media like a comic, light novel, manga, and so on.

And by telling Vergil's story about when he was young it will reveal more about Sparda family and also Dante.

That's good for a book, but not a game. I don't want to play as a seven-year-old watching his mom die.

Even though DmC story is not a prequel to a previous story, it is beginning of DmC story. And DmC story is about Dante who has been supressed by demons.

In DmC Dante will destroy cameras, destroy evil drink factories, join up with "The order", and eventually kill Mundus.

We know that because? It's a copy of DMC story only with NT presenting the story and tweaking it. NT is good at presenting stories, not making them. Hence why they have been acknowledged.

So we know what will happen in DmC to certain degree.

And i don't get how Dante47 can say he/she finds a prequal to DMC games would be annoying because we will know what will happen, when we know already alot about what will happen in DmC the reboot.
I said the above because Dante47 used "We know whats going to happen" as reason why a prequel about Dante/Vergil's early years would not be so good.

And for the love of god, i am talking about DMC storyline not DmC.
I want a prequal to DMC not DmC.

DmC can keep going in a chronoligcal order if it wants. I don't give a ***** (*** my own censoring).
And if you find me offensive because i use a censored curse in my setence well, then stop bringing DmC into it when i am CLEARLY talking about DMC.

im not talking about DmC! when i mentioned it i said it in regards to whether or not the story was a repeat of DMC1. i DONT WANT A ****ING PREQUEL TO DMC! weve done that it was called DMC3 so now we want another prequel to that also ??? if theyre gonna go back to the original universe they should follow up on nero. not spend an entire game tallking about dantes childhood. i WANT PROGRESS!!!! ITS HOW STORIES WORK!!

if a prequel to the prequel is really what you want, fine your entiled to your own opinion. i wont force my mindset down your throat. but my point stands there is a time and place for prequels DMC3 did it fine. so i dont want to keep staying in the past i want to move on to the future

you do realize with that logic you should gtfo out the DmC thread correct? if your going to talk about DMC theres a DMC general discussion forum. Just like you told tiran to go play DmC, which isn't out, I, or anyone for that matter, can tell you to go to the DMC general discussion forum,which exists and is acessible at anytime.

If your CLEARLY going to talk about DMC and not DmC why are you doing it in the DmC forum?

I don't talk only about the original canon. I am just saying in this thread that mentions future DMC games that i hope for a Vergil prequel to DMC story.

Anyway i will stop talking. It seems everyone who has quoted me is against a Vergil prequel. Which is weird because i thought i wasn't only one who want to see a DMC prequel which shows the childhood of Dante and Vergil and events surrounding it. And by childhood i mean at age of 12-15.

theres a difference your not seeing, if vergil comes up in a future game, I AM TALKING ABOUT DmC here btw, then they could have us learn more about him via dialogue with him and some of his actions maybe even a flashback if its appropriate. even better they could add NEW things to him that wasnt in the original so he stands out as a more developed character.

now a prequel involving vergil IS pointless we all know hell turn out evil and become neo angelo in the end. when you finish the game youve accomplished nothing becuase in the end your ultimate goal in the game leads to failure and pain.

Anyhow i am not interested in DmC story. So for everyone who tells me to go DMC section, i told that guy i don't remember he could go play DmC, as in i was talking about future. Vergils prequel hasn't been planned or even released so yeah how can he play it when there isnt that.

It sounds to me i am unwelcome in DmC section by majority of you. Despite i have discuesed it.
And i feel that people are constantly telling me i am wrong about my opinion and that being interested in DmC story is whats right.

That's not what i like though :)

WOW SO YOUVE PLAYED DmC AND FINISHED IT :O. im so amazed because how else would you know how it playes out?......

why dont you get it, A REBOOT IS NOT THE SAME STORY!!!! so far all DmC has in common with DMC1 is the protagonist (sorta) and the "main" villain (sorta). now lets look at some other stories that all had the same villain and hero: namely batman and joker (spoilers)

Batman1: joker kills hundreds in joker gas attack, joker dies by falling off cathedral after fighting batman
Batman , Dark Knight: joker tries to kill hundreds by using a bomb and starting an all out war on the streets of Gotham. Joker is saved by batman from falling to his death
Batman Arkham asylam: JOKER TURNS INTO A GIANT MONSTER and batman takes him out
Batman Arkham city : Joker DIES of poison, in an odly tragic fashion. (i know its a sequel but its the same hero and villain)

SEE just because youve played DMC1 doesnt mean you KNOW WHATS GONNA HAPPEN IN DmC!!!!
 
Apparent't Capcom want a new DMC and Lost planet release every 2 and a half years... yeah, look at how DMC2 turned out. DON'T DO IT CAPCOM!

And guys, they aren't looking at reviews or criticism, they look at anticipation, pre order numbers.
They did it with RE, All they looked at was sales sales sales. Nothing more.

And no, the Dante won't be accepted as long as moronic Pro-DmC crowds keep thinking the complaints are only about the hair

I believe DMC2 sucked for a multitude of reasons.
It was made too easy.
The developers kept switching and developers kept getting assigned to other projects
and yes, it was rushed in the end
