while i do agree the game was a bit..odd for a DMC game (note i played it last) i did think it was an ok game. which may be why its so despised. it was the sequel to DMC1 a game the pretty much changed action games permanently. being ok was just to much of a let down

DMC2 sucked as a DMC game in general, but as a game on it's own, it was pretty good. The enimies actually LOOKED scary instead of being clowns or crappy grim Reaper wanna-bes. Dante's look IMO (So people don't get confused) was better in this one then in all the others. The gameplay wasn't even that slow, it was actually just as fast as DMC1. Plus plsying as two different characters was interesting to do, trying different styles and what not. Plus a serious Dante was better then the clown Dante in DMC4.
 
I only have played DMC 1,3 and 4.
I have ignored 2 when i have seen it's gameplay.
Never liked it,Never gonna play it,Never will,Never say never.

and so as those crappy robotic demons in DmC.Not scary at all.
If i want a demon that "Looked" scary,i would rather go with the demons in the DMC Anime.
 
Who works at Capcom nowadays? Executives and who else? They are now outsoursing every franchise I know, the last thing I know they on was MvC3 and now I don't know anything that they are doing in house.

Not to mention that DMC2 has the LARGEST variety of bosses/enemies in the entire series. And it was still damn hard on DMD...
