Overall how do you guys feel about direction DMC is going?

I'm actually glad lock-on is gone, and I feel that the combos feel natural.
However, some more depth could be added to the Style Meter and the Mission Rating.
Overall, the story is fantastic, the gameplay is entertaining, and I'm very excited to see all the new possibilities.

Also, I am hoping that the original series will continue alongside this new DmC. It be great to see Capcom and NT take turns between development. (DmC, DMC5, DmC2, DMC6, etc)

I think they could have added in a bit more depth by adding double-forward inputs (Stinger's) on the Special move key as well, and maybe some back-forward inputs, although those may be a bit too much..

What if they continued both but somewhere within the games they intertwine with each other. Like both in one game? Sure it sounds stupid of course but cant blame me for trying.

Judging from the fake leaked ending's reactions, people want DmC to stay as far away from DMC as possible. It's bad enough that it shares the same themes, apparently.

I'd say I don't like where the series is going in terms of game play. Story wise it feels like a more fleshed out DMC story, and after seeing some of the newer cutscenes the presentation and acting is better than I expected. But I only cared about story as a way to frame the action, etc. Like most people said I'd want a Sparda game or Vergil game because frankly I don't care about how many times a video game retcons their story (look at Megaman), I care about having fun. Also the original DMC games always had that fighting game precision to them which I loved, so I'd like to see perhaps the MvC3 development team take a crack at DMC5..........

Well then thats out but overall they just need to put out on both series then, give us what we original DMC fans want while the others get what they want. I heard somewhere that if this reboot sold DMC 5 would be made in the eyes of what the fans want. I honestly wouldnt want that because im afraid even the fans would mess it up.

What's the matter with the MvC3 team? They transferred Dante's and Vergil's movesets over quite well to a 2d fighting game. I still play UMvC3 even though the netcode can be ass at times its still fun. Plus MvC3's models are some of the best in 3d fighting games along with very smooth animations.

Transferring movesets to a 2D fighter isn't all that great a mark of quality, SuperBot Entertainment did it with pretty much all the characters in PlayStation All-Stars :p

And I always thought the models were okay, but I made fun of how for some reason they're 3D models and they still use the mirroring system of old fighters where they just swap the sprite's direction. I mean, why bother with that? You got guys like Spencer who always have their background facing arm the Bionic one, or Dante's cut sleeve always on the forefront. It's like...they actually had to do extra work to make a system like that, instead of them just letting the models turn to face the other way.

Well without a doubt discussion it here wouldnt get Capcom to look at this but again like i said I heard somewhere that if this reboot sold DMC 5 would be made in the eyes of what the fans want. I honestly wouldnt want that because im afraid even the fans would mess it up but is it true or false?

They did that in SF4 too. Its purposefully done to mimic the old 2d fighting style and is much easier to visualize and in essence react to moves if they look the same facing both ways. I'm pretty sure Playstation All-stars doesn't do it, but it sure shows the attention to detail Capcom puts in their fighters. And Capcom fighting games are on an entirely different level than Playstation All-stars, let alone balancing a large roster including things like assist calls, dhcs, etc.

It's not true, but it's also not false.

Capcom said in an interview somewhere that "even though DmC was being made, that still didn't mean DMC wasn't on the table."

Well honestly what do you guys want in the next installment of DMC, like in DMC 5? I like to hear everyone answers on this with some reason behind it. Some people state Vergil is dead and it wouldnt be good enough if he came back. Not alot of people enjoyed playing as Nero but i would like to hear about his story and his background and more about Sparda and Eva along with Mundus making a return one last time for revenge.

nero going after dante in hell to help finish off mundas maybe a few secret missions were you get to play as sparda when he was rebelling 2000 yrs ago

DMC5 should have...

- A Nero campaign where he explores his past and gives us all a definitive answer as to where he came from. Nero should get new weapons, but each has a specific L2 mechanic like Red Queen does, with Yamato being a full-fledged weapon as well.
- A Dante campaign of him going through Hell (from the end of DMC2), reliving much of his past, showing off more of his character and how he came to be, even reliving a few choice environments from the past games, and especially show how Dante went from DMC4 to DMC2. He should retain his Style mechanics (except for Dark Slayer)
- Both of those should be full fledged campaigns, a la DMC2, and not DMC4's half-assed retread
- In the end, it should pull everything together where Nero searches for a way to bring back Dante from Hell, and because he has Yamato, he can use it to open a portal to the demon world, where the then teams up with Dante and the two battle Mundus as he attempts to revive himself
- This should end the series timeline, because too many things go on for too long these days, and there's only so many times I can stomach the "guy wants to open portal to the demon world" plot. So unless they can finally do more with it, they should just stop while they're ahead. I'm all for more random exploits in-between, but no more coming after this chronologically. Maybe pull a Metal Gear and let us follow Nero for awhile on his own devil hunting exploits.

I'm ok with some aspects of DmC's story, confused about other parts and disliking/skeptical of something else.

On the classic series, I dont trust capcom as stewards of the franchise so I would be skeptical of any DMC5 and if they are gonna half-ass it like DMC4 and the anime, then i rather it not be done.

I like the way it's going.

Thinking back... the previous DMC's have been hit and miss for me. Mostly miss. I only beat DMC2/4 once, and I honestly had no reason to beat them again. DMC3 was both a hit and miss. While DMC1 was the only DMC I fully completed (all the difficulties, all secret missions, all blue orbs... etc).

Judging by more gameplay video's... I don't think I'll like the level designs for DmC, but I love the difficulty and the gameplay. I'd love to see a DmC2 based on the demo alone.

Reading peoples' responses to the incredibly tame sex seen has been hilarious because it shows me who's 14 and who's 18+

But I'm glad Capcom are changing it up. For example, the sex scene

Well we all have the opinions of one or the other. I think both the series has potential, its just hard to at least come up with a interesting story that will compel the player to enjoy it, rather than hate on it. Vergil i believe is not dead, though Agnus found parts of Nelo Angelo to create his creations, those could have been part aside from Vergil's actual body, leaving his amulet and sword behind doesnt mean he died either, people would do so without thinking. The sword being broken probably was the Nelo Angelo sword he was using in DMC 1 and broke after the third battle with Dante and it was left behind shattered until Agnus found it.

Note that Dante and Vergil were fighting in the Demon Relm at the time as well, and Demons can be resurrected down there so maybe Vergil will return resurrected somehow and kick ass with Dante and Nero to take down the Demon King once and for all.
