Well at least they explain what Dante (and Vergil) were doing throughout most of their lives, this also explains how Dante got his "I don't give two sh*ts" attitude in DMC3 and why he doesn't like demons. So, in a way, this game might actually ended up being a sort of, dare I say it, origin story for the franchise. I just hope they'll keep the white hair and somehow lead it up to DMC3, and I wish they loosened up his pants too.

I hope NT and Capcom try to take a new but familiar road for DmC. From the look of the game and from the past DMC's, there is tons of information to use from the games, to the mangas, to novals and even the anime.
I just hope the story stays true to itself and never tries to be like the past DMC with no continuity.

DmC might even be its only story just like DMC1 was, but all the talk about rebooting the series, i hope there isn't a lame cliff hanger and if there is, i hope the game is really fun and familiar characters are revealed and twists and all kinds of drama. Something DMC would never attempt.

Yep and i have watched countless of animes to understand what the seiyuus are saying in the game.
Oh yeah,sorry for being off topic :)

Dante and Vergil were orphans in the original series as well. They were probably raised in an orphanage as we have never heard of any other relatives. Was the time between Eva's death and Devil May Cry 3 ever officially explained? Because I don't know what happened then.

It's a nice and probable explanation they gave Dante in the new Devil May Cry. I like it.

Well in DMC1 Dante and Vergil haven't seen eachother in like around 20 years. But in DMC3, it was like a year later after they saw eachother....
But as you said, an orphanage seem better than being a bum for 5 years or so

that would be great! :)

I also had a small theory;
What if Dante originally was born with white hair and was going through orphanages while being tortured, and one day decided to join the demons? Then he wore a red coat and fought with his guns and his sword for demons or fighting rival demons like a gang. Then one day, when he felt things went to far (Probably killed a human child or a group of people by accedent) and decided to quit. Then the demons hunted him down and Dante was forced to cut his hair and dye it black along with a black coat and went into desciques, however, that didn't hide his trueself from them as no matter what fesade he puts on, the demons will always know it's him and his true form will form over the fecade, as he starts to realize what he truely will become instead of an Angel or a human; a full-fledged demon.
