IF you looking for some better understanding and a little more style to the gameplay, Check out the link.

and please..PLEASE don't compare DMC to DmC in dialog.

"Dante, thats a pretty cool name"
"Nero, i like your name too"
Gut wrenching to even WATCH let alone listen too!

Well there is no way to fix the problem. What could of been done before hand was buy your ticket to LA and stand in line like everyone else did. And if you were good enough, you could of seem better gameplay. But since that didn't happen... we get this guy...... :ermm:
Except I wasn't asking about that. I was asking about the other things people didn't enjoy about the video. Like the dialogue. :P

ermmmm did you HEAR some of the stuff they said in the original DMC??? i love DMC as much as the next guy but seriously i think dialogue hear was much better than some of the stuff from the original. and i dont know why youd call that boring...i mean come on it was full of violence, slashing and stabbing. but if thats youre definition of boring....

The player was really bad. The dialog had more swearing than I would have liked, it sounds like a conversation between a really ****ed off woman and a dude who likes and knows how to push her buttons. It's not bad, it's not cheesy either... it's pretty... normal. Like something you can witness in a street fight.

Well how would you answer if somebody insulted your mother in a really bad manner... It's R-E-A-L-I-S-T-I-C and I'm not talking to you personally Angel Mode (so don't think I'm bashing you 'cause I'm not ^_^), rather everyone who says that the dialogue was bad...

perhaps, but it seemed more like combat dialogue than an actual taunt. it's better when we can do it at the push of a button or stop combat for a bit for some sort of funny, context-sensitive gesture. That's the next step for me :)

i am quite fond of general messing around during a fight. but NT takes there narrative and story very seriously. so they left it out so it wouldnt interupt it. youve got to respect their point

Yeah but at the same time the combat has been often compared to as a tool box and Tameem said that Capcomjapan's best advice was to let the player play around and do what feels right.
I mean for example, when limbo is closing in on Dante and all the player wants to do is stand in place or maybe run the other way, is perfectly fine right? NO one is going to be like, "the whole game experience has changed because i need to be forced through the gameplay to actually understand whats going on"
I'm not saying the dialog is great either. In Enslaved, i felt a lot more for trip than monkey,
(spoiler)

watching her return to her village and you could tell while walking up the path that something was wrong, but the excitement on her face changed (performance capture) and her whole village was destroyed. It was a pretty sad moment, and i really felt like i was the last person she had, well until pigsy
(endspoiler)

but Enslaved was a completely different game than DmC. And NT have been waiting for a chance to make an M rated game, and it seems they aren't holding back. Which i can respect, since they've been in the biz for like 10 years now

the originals had so much ore to play with but never tapped into it.

lol I never said it was bad, I rather enjoyed it. But you just explained exactly what I tried to say with my "dialog being normal" comment. It's done that way to look more realistic and not something that came out of an anime in order to attract more western audiences. Anime stuff is alright, but whenever I play something like... say, the later Final Fantasy games, I go like... wtf is wrong with these people?

the originals had so much ore to play with but never tapped into it.

That's what you call a bad presentation of the story. All of the DMC games do this. The story behind DMC is amazing, but they do not present it to you very good in the games. It just feels like they could have done much much better with it.

I never used it either when i first started, like for 5 years i didn't use it. But someone here told me that taunting builds your DT gauge in dmc3, and i use it anytime i get the chance now.

OR, you know, you can beat DMD mode and get unlimited Quicksilver... That's not how I beat Bloody Palace mode though... I realized this later after I have beaten it and was all like FUUUUUUUU-

But yeah, I taunt A LOT in DMC3... and whenever I feel like in DMC4 as it does sort of build meter and style too but it is waaay too slow. But no taunt is more cheap than the one in DMC1, you can just keep taunting and your bar will keep increasing... like in the other games it will only work when you wait for a while and not repeat it constantly.
