MAJOR SPOILERS! ENDING SHOWN HERE

STOP NOT LIKING WHAT I LIKE!!!

Troll Harder Pal.

How about I say the script in DMC3 sucks ass?

How about if I say Nero sucks ass??

Ohhhh, you wouldn't like it then, would you? Nero had Phantom DT Vergil to help him in fights, and he still couldn't beat Dante.

Nero fails.

Well, yeah, I get that. But all that happens too fast.

You could make an entire game of Vergil just trying to take control and replace Mundus and NT just literally threw that whole thing right in your face in the last 5 minutes of the game.
But it's not like Vergil went mad and started laughing like a madman and fighting Dante, he just wished good for mankind, he wasn't evil or anything, he was hoping to achieve peace through control, it doesn't derail from his character at all, he wanted to take down Mundus to free people from being enslaved by demons.

Even though they become friends, the "brother betrayal" point is still nothing compared to the ending in DMC3. Hell, even that point was cliche since it have been done before and we all saw it from miles away.

Well of course we did; we'd played DMC3. The moment everybody heard Vergil was in the reboot, we already knew we would be fighting him right off the bat. I think we went through every possible "betrayal scenario" by this point that nothing could've surprised us.

The sudden ending in Journey was quite fitting though, never once did the game give you straight answer, the only questions that would turn up would be from yourself, not the game.

Never played Journey, but I'm getting flashbacks to The Binding of Issac in this thread. And eventhough I liked those endings, I'm sorta getting tired of writers being cryptic for the sake of cryptic with no solid answer forthcoming. Such is a tight rope of information and speculation, not a throttle for maximum bullshit and artsy-fartsy.

Well, actually, part of that is up for discussion. Because Vergil says "we will respect our subjects." Meaning he thinks of humans as nothing but inferior beings that need to be controlled by superior ones (meaning him and Dante). He actually might not care about mankind as much as he cares for the idea of peace itself and... well, himself and Dante.

What about some of the reasonable people who don't like the game and people who are supporting going "SUCK IT HATERZ!" or something similar to that notion?

Personally, I don't care much on who likes the ending or not. I didn't like it that much only because it seemed really bland. As well as this, I don't like how the boss fights are being presented in this game as well. The constant pauses between each segment in the boss fight can get quite annoying.

Keep posting. Your stuff is so damn levelheaded about this game. While you have a difference of opinion, it's not of the sort that seems to be berating anyone with that differing opinion (.... which 90% of the youtube video comments on any DmC video is, and let's face it................ exactly what this thread was made for)

Also, this thread is growing like a damned weed. Can't read fast enough....

their idea of an ultimate showdown was to only interrupt your combat 5 times for a cutscene, play really dull music, not give vergil a mechanic that stuns himself for free damage, and conclude nothing. I suppose I should be thankful that dino vergil turned out to be false, but still, this just seems so incredibly lame...

okay, first this is a thread for discussing the ending.
Not comparing DMC3's ending with this one. It's fuitle.
Sure they have the sameness but the toryline is nothing alike.

Out of curiosity do you think this ending is so open because what they plan to do is check if the game sells and if it doesn't use ending A which resolves everything in Vergil's downfall and if it sells well then they use ending B where it doesn't resolve everything but it does enough?

I agree because Vergil dosnt even care about Kat, so why would he care about mankind.

But its pretty understandable why people would compare the 2.

They both are "origin stories" that involved a final battle between Vergil and Dante.

I played enslaved and the ending was pretty much like this. No real conclusion whatsoever. Pretty silly of them if you ask me.
