Least favorite weapon or move?

I don't really care for how fast people can jump cancel. I like to visually look cool while playing.

Ah I'm all with you there. I mean, it's what DMC is about. However, jump cancel itself does unlock new stylish moves possibilities, and doing it fast while weapon switching is visually stylish as hell, especially when you can do it in the air and you basically strafe around the enemy while floating airborne, holy sh!t.
I'm actually training to be able to jump cancel fast, cause I'd love to do all the sh!t you can do with it.

When done properly, yea. But sometimes people just do it to do it and the result is some fast motions on the screen that looks just too messy to me.

Kind of like those people who play the dancing games at the arcade and do really fast songs. Moving their feet so fast is all they can do. I like to dance with the music and do tricks. See what I'm trying to say here? Might be a weird comparison.

No, I understand. Jump canceling, I see it as a means to do cool stuff, not the cool stuff itself, you know what I mean? But to do real super high level stuff, you need to learn how to fast jc properly, that's why I'm training with it.

The only real JC I didn't like was DMC4's JC. With the style switching it just looked like a flash rave mess that I couldn't bother to keep up with.

All the opposite for me. In fact, it's DMC4's jc and style switching that allows the chaining of the cool ass moves I was talking about earlier.
Learn to do it properly, and the amount of stuff you can do with your imagination and creativity is CCCCCCCCCCRRRRAZY! I'll reach that level... one day...

That hardly means anything to me if I can't see what he's doing without having a seizure.

Well, I'm sorry then, don't know what else to say. I got no problems in understanding those fast movements. When I started seriously getting into stylish gameplay, some weeks ago, I had problems jump canceling (was training with an Angelo), cause I never tried it before. So I asked ef9 o shea here on the forum, he explained me but I was still failing. Then he shot a video with his phone of him fast jump canceling a Frost. I watch it, I run the game, and with my surprise, I can jump cancel that Angelo properly.

But I get it it's a subjective thing. Once you get the understanding and the hang of it though, it's satisfying as hell.

What he said-->

Dive kicks and kicks have been a staple of gauntlets since the beginning. Without them they're like the swords without stinger, it's just not complete.

Not really. Stinger is still there, helm breaker, high time, drive, E&I and rebellion still work the same for the most part, and gauntlets still work by charge, and it counted enough to have Vergil use it, so 'it's a reboot so everything is different' doesn't really work because it's not.

Back to the topic. Osiris is lame. It's just does to little damage to be really effective, and I hate transfer of Rebellion move to it. Hated move is any Kablooey projectile.

Are you as curious as I am as to if they tweaked it right on the definitive edition? I think I once described it as having the damage output of a wet napkin but I think the idea was to force people to boost it with demon dodge so as to make the player more adept at last second dodging but I've yet to try out that theory.

eryx, nothing special about it.. and the taser thing, was it kablooey?
Beyond that, it always bothered me how he got that gun. "off a security guard" Was it? Then why don't they have a hole lot of them using those? A simple taser that's actually a powerful weapon in limbo is standard issue for the security guards, who I'm assuming are all demons, so whenever that cutscene pops up I'm always thinking to myself 'shouldn't they be using it against you then?'

Actually I kinda am. Because Osiris and E&I was desperately in need of boosting

it doesn't need to be buffed like being as powerful as melee weapons, but it would be nice to have it deal real damage instead serving mostly for style scoring

Was that not the intended purpose of the guns from the beginning of the entire series?

In all DMCs despite doing lesser damage it still worked as a weapon, while in this case E&I was basically only instrument for style growth instead of a real weapon

They've always been for stylish growth. Back in DMC1, they were used mostly for keeping enemies in the air. They never did ANY real damage alone and that's how it's always been for the series except for DMC2.
