Kill Bill reference

I was rewatching Kill Bill Vol. 1 earlier and when the fight between the Bride and Ren's henchmen happened I realized this reference.

In that battle, the Bride uses the flat of her katana to see the enemies behind her.

Now what does that remind you of? Yep. Vergil does the exact same thing in his prologue.

Actually that's a standard tactic in samurai swordsmanship and ninja. Using the sword as a mirror to survey your surroundings is a common move that originated from neither.

I imagine the reflection on the sword would be a blob of somekind in reality but either way Tarantino gives no ***** about realism. He loves his over the top action.

Fun fact. Shadow Warrior opening stage is literally almost same as place of fight with crazy 88 and yes you fight japanese guys in suits.
