Can we not act like the asscunts on facebook, please? I came to this site because I wanted some mature discussion, like I wasn't getting there. I wanted somewhere where pros and antis settled their differences in a mature way, not back and forth arguing. At first, I got it, but now, it's gone. Can we go back to that? Please?

sorry but that simply is not going to happen here.

Some fans simply like to draw those "battle lines" around the forum and simply do not like seeing others having a different opinion or view on things.

This happens on both sides, anti or supporter.

So why your effort is great, it in the end will settle nothing.

its gone because of all the new members who came here presumably after getting bored with 4chan, neoseeker, and gamespot's forums where negativity is the only way to go, two months ago this forum was great for discussion and theories

nah, this has been going on for a while now.

This isn't something that has just started to happen.

Granted some of the newer members have made it worse.

And no offense, but your attitude around the forum really does not help one bit.

newer members come here with no intent of being respectful, to the point of claiming in one instance, "i like the older games so i'm superior" (because liking a different video game makes you superior right?) why should i respect them? that's my logic, i respect people who deserve respect, if they

-just classify me as someone who doesn't see any flaws
then they don't deserve MY respect, one of them even made a youtube account for the sole purpose of and i quote "berating and belittling me" -__-

Well the example you listed really isn't THAT bad or as black and white as you say.

NOW, if they where coming in saying "DmC sucks ballz!" or "DmC is nothing but pure sh*t" without giving reasons for their hate then I would say they are just trolling and should be ignored.

But you however don't seem to have a problem with JUST those types of comments, you seem to feel the need to defend this game from ANY negativity whether its constructive or expressed in a civil manner.

I have seen it, and many others have as well.

To be frank, you may not be as bad as some of the "hater" trolls we get from time to time, but you are one of the "new members" who have caused problems around this forum with your attitude and need to challenge every bit of negativity with a self righteous attitude.

Because for someone who apparently hates to have his opinion belittled, you seem to have no problem belittling others judging by your attitude and words like this for example

i read everything more than once and out loud just to understand completely what i am reading, i understand opinions and all but to state "DmC has bad writing and hears why" like its a fact, doesn't fly with me

I believe Chancey was the one who kept claiming his opinion was a fact, in a number of threads, if not all threads I saw him post in. But a lot of people make that mistake. That said, I agree with him that people who like the original DMC aren't better than the ones who like DmC.

However, there is a lot of animosity about DmC, and you can't just ignore that and go ''the reboot (DmC) was absolutely necessary!'' That's simply not true. Or ''old Dante had a terrible personality!'' or ''Vergil was a bad character!'' If you say those kinds of things, you haven't the faintest idea what the difference is between opinion and fact. Many things said here and in other threads just aren't true, so don't go saying something is fact when you haven't done the most rudimentary thinking. ''DmC is still Devil May Cry''. I'd say that's false, but it's highly debatable. Depends on your point of view.

It shows you don't understand why they made characters a certain way. Why DMC Dante wasn't an ordinary guy you could meet on the street. In any case, if you don't like that Dante, fine, but that's just an opinion.

I'm not going to say ''can't we all just get along?'', because we have the right to voice our opinions. However, if something could endanger the entire atmosphere and all relations on this website, that's where you draw the line. Lock it, if necessary. I say don't and let people ignore others if they want to until they've cooled down.

I know how Dante was made and the very first version of him is my favorite out of them all. He was more subtle in his cockiness and I enjoy the campyness. Evil Dead is my favorite movie trilogy ever. I dig stuff like that. It's just as it went on it's almost like they really wanted to try all these different things with the character. He never was consistent actually making the reboot no different. If Dante really had a solid identity then you wouldn't have such a shift in tones from a game like DMC 1 to 2 then 3. 3 and 4 to be honest held my least favorite versions of him. I don't understand why he would act this stupid. 2 had a weak version of him as well but my complaints about him, as well as really everyone else, was because he didn't do anything. He was just so boring. In 3 he just became annoying. My views of Dante in DmC I judge with what they give me and the reasoning behind it. The idea around DmC was to bring the series around to a more contemporary setting and DmC did just that. It really is like Earth 616 and Ultimates in Marvel comics. It's just different but overall still pretty much the same in my eyes. Still keeps what made Devil May Cry Devil May Cry while doing exactly what the plan was in the beginning.

well I have no problem with you disagreeing, but if you must do so then I don't think its to much to ask to do it in a civil and mature manner.

And if it ever did cross the lines of insults than simply report it rather than insult them back.

i said, don't compare this to every other game's sales, this isn't a discussion thread, and then get replies like

MultibromC was outsold by other games that was released several months ago. That isn't exactly great.

Marionette Cherry: DmC fans are just desperate for their game to get any sort of praise.Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Tales of Xillia, Last of Us, Under Night/In-Birth, Blazblue Chrono Phantasma. All these will make sure it's swept under the rug and forgotten. Even the Kingdom Hearts HD collection will sell more than DmC sold in a week and it's a collection of games people already own.

Congratulations, you just showed how wrong you were since Dominus was the only one that even mentioned it. Ctrl+F any of my posts and see if I or any other guy other then Dominus and see if they compare DMC4 sales to DmC.
