Kamiya weighs in on DmC

In a later interview a few days or weeks before the game came out he said that he liked the game, but wasn't a big fan of the direction the series was going. He also said that he enjoyed playing as Dante since he felt like Dante was a part of him, but now new Dante's swearing a bit more with the F-bombs, and such, and he's not too happy about that. He still likes DmC but isn't too excited about the places its going.
Where was that at? When I saw him pass his verdict he said DmC was awesome. Saying DmC was everything Devil May Cry is and more.

I do wann'a see this interview or view of it, since I remember the one just before the demo was released where Reubon voiced approval for the new game. I understand and can believ if he has some things he's not happy with...but point made, source...

I saw it on Tumblr. I don't know where but it was on Tumblr and they had it on a audio recording interview.
Just found what you were talking about and that interview was made shortly after the reveal trailer almost 2 years ago. The one about him saying it was awesome is the his thoughts after he finally got his hands on it.

Yeah, the subject article says nothing about his views on the game. All it conveys is that he's tired of people asking him his opinion about a game he has no connection to. I read before that he didn't like the path the series is taking, so basically he's going: ''I don't care. If you like it, that's good. You don't have to ask for my approval or anything of the sort.''

Tim Phillips did a better job in the voice acting department than Reuben ever did with Dante to be honest. Hell, DmC has the best voice acting in the series overall and the thing is Reuben was never the Dante I liked. He was only Dante in 3 and 4 and I thought both of those versions were a little too freaking well, stupid. DMC 1 Dante is my favorite amongst them all because he wasn't flat out retarded at times. I like DmC Dante for what he is. They were going for a more contemporary feel with DmC and they did exactly that. Dante from DMC and Dante from DmC are more like Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-Man to me.

For DMC3, that worked, because he was a stupid cocky teenager. In DMC4, yeah. he was a 29 year old acting like a 19 year old asshat manchild in chaps. Part of it was also ADR direction, Reubon was actually more on teh mark in teh anime...as shoddy as the dialogue and writing could be...

See, that's exactly how I see it; DMC Classic is Earth 616 and DmC is Ultimates. i love teh similarities and contrasts between them to make each one stand on it's own

It is alot like Earth 616 and Ultimates to an extent. I can draw lots of similarities between the two. Whoever said that about DMC 3 Dante though I still don't want to buy that whole teenage bullcrap. I would expect Dante to be a bit more brash and enthusiastic with his attitude in 3 but he was just retarded at times. When I was 19, I wasn't an idiot and 19 is an age where you should know better even if you are young. In DMC 1 you got the sense he was cocky but he was also more subtle about it and he was rather laid back even if he did spout some lame one liners. In 3 he was so in your face and honestly thought he was way cooler than he actual was. I starting skipping cutscenes just so I wouldn't have to hear such grating dialogue. I would have slapped him over the head because even if he's young why would he be so much more of a dork. I was missing DMC 2 Dante at times. He was quieter.

That was me, hence why I bolded it. Remember, Japanese view of Western Cool. They like them hotheaded teenage retards(Ranma, Inuyasha, Van Fanel, Naruto...ect ect) who try to act a lot cooler than they really are.

I use to be a fan of Inuyasha and you know you can draw an awful lot of similarities between Dante and Vergil's story to Inuyasha and his brother. Like it was almost a complete rip off at times.

~resists the urge to list off all the matches between them~ It's still not as bad as DMC4 being pretty much a BLeach game with Dante as a guest star. To the point it's even the same VAs and Kyrie is just Orihime with a more elaborate outfit to the point of exact same character design practically...

Also Nero was voiced by Johnny Yong Bosche. Don't get me wrong I love the guy because he was my favorite Power Ranger growing up and I'm also a fan of his band Eyeshine. He's a pretty good voice actor but it was just the character he played and yes it was like Bleach at times as well. Devil May Cry was just becoming your generic anime and it wasn't all that entertaining. I love anime but I like good ones. Devil May Cry doesn't really make a good one. Hell, the actual anime for it totally sucked.

I did note same Voice actors. I think DMC4 got the shaft honestly in their rush to just get it out. It could have this epic story of Dante in Hell, or Nero as a successor to Sparda's legacy, since they practicallty wrote him to pretty be a new incarnation of Sparda as it was...to th epoint the music when he kills Sanctus is titled "Sparda's Will"...subtle Capcom...subtle..

I think an anime of DmC could be good if written properly and with some good budget. I don't know why, but I keep imagining
A-1 studios (Fairy Tail, Black Butler, Blue exorcist, sword art online) could do something with DmC in making it an anime.

You know, The thing is, Kamiya is open-minded about the whole thing.

Also (No offence) Kamiya's fans are the worst fans I ever saw. Anyone see the tweets Kamiya gets from them?
God.. I can feel his pain when he replies to them -_-.

He probably defended DmC on his twitter just to shut people's mouths up and to stop people from putting words on his mouth like "Kamiya hates DmC and NT!" , "Kamiya doesn't like Tameem!" etc..
