Just finished watching VD: HOLLOW VERGIL? PFFFFFFFFF XD

I think maybe many people here get most of their ideas from anime and manga.

They probably think Jekyll and Hyde is a copy of Bleach.

Hollow Ichigo, anyone? Didn't help that the doppelgänger had a monochromesque colour scheme and basically encompassed all'a th' nastiness inside Vergil. Once the resemblance is seen, it can't be undone. Still though, It is mighty cool!

Edit; Ah crap, beaten to the Bleach ref....maybe...? Ahh...

Ichigo and Nero have the same English voice actor. But yeah, Hollow Vergil's concept was obviously copied from Bleach.
It even has the inverse color palette, warped voice and the whole 'I am you'.

A shame Hollow Ichigo hasn't appeared since Final Getsuga Tenshou, though I wonder how he's going to react at suddenly gaining Quincy powers and Zangetsu being out of commission in the upcoming internal dialogue.
That ****ed me off beyond belief. He needs to come back, he used to have so much pull in Ichigo's life. Now we don't even see him anymore.

Your assuming wrong. We're just connecting the dots and seeing similarities in an anime that we like.

Jesus, what is with the people giving us the proper definition of hollow? We understand what it means and what its suppose to represent, all were doing is connecting the dots and seeing eerily close similarities here.
Hollow is used as an adjective in Vergil's Downfall.
Hollow is used as a noun in Bleach.
Therefore, they are not the same.

English rulez woohooo.

I think its nice. A little homage to Bleach isn't a bad thing. Unless its done poorly. (I'm looking at you, DMC4)

Hollow Vergil seemed like a good idea cause in a way, this was Vergil fighting his inner demon, and what better way to make both opposite then to make hollow Vergil white? Still I like how it was incorporated. It didn't try and make us believe it wasn't spurring from bleach like DMC4 did, it showed us right out that hollow Vergil was a reference to hollow Ichigo, and I welcome that.

Still when i first saw that, I LOLed. Cause it was just so...I don't know, funny to me.:D

Same here, I think its cute and endearing in a way, not to mention awesome. I loved the reference and I couldn't help but goofly grin when I saw his name. However DMC4 was a terrible knock off in terms of Nero and Kyrie, but I still loved them none the less. :P

I liked him too but the reason we don't see him anymore is because Ichigo is no longer a split entity. When he was training for the Final Getsuga Tenshou he was told by Zangetsu, many times, that him and his hollow were one in the same. So Ichigo finally learned that both Zangetsu and his hollow were just his power trying to protect him and now they are all back to being one. I don't think we will be seeing anymore Hollow Ichigo, which is a shame, cause there is no longer a reason for him to be around.
Anyway back on topic. I defiantly like this hollow Vergil. Bleach is my favorite anime and new Vergil is my favorite character so I'm glad they did this. But I don't think it was a ripoff of Bleach since, like most people have stated, this hollow is just representing the emptiness of Vergil.

I agree, I'll miss hollow Ichigo. In my opinion, he was just lonely rather than evil. But yeah, I thought Hollow Vergil was cool, not a rip-off.

i love bleach...... That aside why are people throwing a stupid fit? The OP had no ill intentions and the resemblence between VD and bleach is like an ant to a rock. 1 damn resemblence and people starting sh itting out their mouth smh.

PS i wanna see zangetsu again T_T i miss the old guy. Anyone else notice that ichigo looks ALOT like juha bach in his FGT form? That as ichigo becomes more powerful he starts to resemble tensa zangetsu?

You obviously missed the part where it was pointed out that we know that already.

Just pointing out the similar aspects to the Hollow Ichigo/Hollow Vergil thing.

You would have to be blind or not a bleach fan to not see it.

SPOILRS AHEAD: DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED.

DMC has ripped off many things.

DMC 1: Inuyasha
DMC 4: Bleach
DmC: Vergil downfall - Bleach

Though i thought Ninja theory would be more original, but i think (not stating as a fact) that it is most likely a Bleach rip off. This just my opinion, and i will elaborate so that you guys can understand how i come to the conclusion that "It's a Bleach rip off".

1. The place where Vergil foughts HVergil looks very like Hueco Mundo (hell in Bleach):
Huecomundoopening.JPG

1:16

2. Then there is the term "Hollow Vergil", very weak basis for calling something a rip off as you guys pointed out.

3. Then there is the simarlities between Downfall and Bleach:
First let me explain what "hollows" are in Bleach. They are basically human souls who have lost their hearts because of despair or remain in human world to long(Basically if you stay around in human world after death you wil become a hollow, your "chain of hollow" keeps tearing apart) . Therefor they have a hole in their chest:
bleach_hollow.jpg

They are corrupted human souls.

2:39 Inoue tells his brother who had turned into a hollow to leave Ichigo and others alone. His brother did not move on to Heaven (soul society) as result of this he was phrone to becoming a hollow. He didn't move on because he loved Inoue and wanted to watch over her (their parents were abusive, Inoue brother shielded Inoue from all that and they left home).
When Vergil in Downfall looses his heart he blames the people who cares about him. Similar to Inoue's brother when he turned into a hollow. So what can you conclude from that? Similarity in behavior. Because Vergil did cast away his heart in Downfall.

Moving on...when Vergil used Yamato in beginning of Downfall to summon Dobelganger, the Dobelganger absorbed his amulet. Basically it seems that Dobelganger wanted to take over the body of Vergil. I dont know how Dobelganger had a concious because it was just a ability but we will leave that for now.

In Bleach there was THREE souls in Ichigo's "soul world":
Ichigo, Hollow Ichigo(a evil fraction of Ichigo that manifested in him when he tried to get his Shinigami (deathgod) powers back) AND Zangetsu. Zangetsu was Ichigo's Zanpaktou (sword). A Zanpaktou abilities and shape is based on the shinigami's soul. And a Zanpaktou's soul is a creature that lives inside the shinigami, while it's physical body is the sword the shinigami is wielding.
Hollow Ichigo was created in the process when Ichigo got his shinigami powers back by getting his Zanpaktou back. From then the balance was such: Ichigo was the one with the crown (the soul who controlled the physical body) while Zangetsu and HollowIchigo were in the depths of Ichigo's soul.

Since HollowIchigo was created when Ichigo got his shinigami powers (which came from Zangetsu), HollowIchigo was intially A PART of Zangetsu. Overtime HollowIchigo power increased, and the role between Zangetsu and HollowIchigo reversed. "I became stronger, therefor Zangetsu became part of me".
And here comes the relevant part, when Zangetsu became part of HollowIchigo: Everytime Ichigo tried to channel out the powers of Zangetsu through his zanpaktou - HollowIchigo would try to take controll of him:
5:45

When Vergil used dobbelganger ability through Yamato in beginning of Downfall, and it allowed HollowVergil to absorb Vergils amulet similar to how when Ichigo used Zangetsu's abilities (who had become a part of HollowIchigo) it allowed HollowIchigo to influence Ichigo by for example taking over his body. Zangetsu was source of Ichigo's shinigami abilities. And it seems that the amulet that was snatched by Dobbelganger represented the powers of Vergil in downfall.

4. There is also the similarities between the scenes in Bleach and Downfall:
5:32

4:01

5. Using the colour white to represent a evil side or thing.

I could be wrong, but i can't help but feel strongly that this is a Bleach rip off.

Well since I see no sued papers from Tite Kubo, it wasn't a rip off, but more a favor to ask.

I used to read Bleach up untill Ichigo regained his power as a shinigami back. When i saw Hollow Vergil, I didn't immediately think about Bleach, I just thought it was pretty cool.

Honestly I don't really care too much for Bleach anymore, but the similarities are there. And now that we've established the similarities, what now?
