Just finished watching VD: HOLLOW VERGIL? PFFFFFFFFF XD

Sadly I'm broke so I can't play it, but I started to watch it. I finished it a few minutes ago and I noticed that Dante and Kat were white with black eyes. They reminded me intensely of Hollow Ichigo from Bleach, but I figured NT wouldn't be so brazen to do that. But then the fight with White Vergil started, and it said "HOLLOW VERGIL". I cannot tell you how loud I went "PFFFFFF' When I saw this. I'm actually happy that this was in there, it made me all giddy to remember one of my cherished anime's but seriously NT?!


NOTE; I understand what the word 'hollow' is meant to mean within "Hollow Vergil". I'm just poking fun at something that I consider to be a mild reference in my mind, and I do understand the concept of this enemy. No need to get panties in a bunch.
 
Hollow Vergil is a reference to Vergil's emptiness as he loses his humanity.

It's not a word that applies to only Bleach you know.

I'm aware, there is no need to get so angry over a comment. The comment wasn't meant to offend you, it was meant to add a little humor to an already depressing story. I'm well aware of what it was suppose to mean, I couldn't help though but bring up the reference and poke a small bit of fun at it.
 
Because Bleach owns the word hollow.... Bleach is not even that great of a show and the hollow Vergil seems like it falls in line with the entire premise of Vergil's Downfall. Seems in context to this story. He's slowly losing it and won't be the same afterwards that's for sure.
 
wouldn't be the first time dmc had similarities to bleach

*Sigh*, so many people are taking this post the wrong way. I understand what it's meant to mean and represent within the game, I was just poking fun at an already discussed topic.

yea it doesn't apply to only bleach, but dang does it draw a similar picture to the battle between Ichigo and Hollow Ichigo.

Both where fighting to gain power and this hollow Vergil also had a white color scheme like Hollow Ichigo.

Any fan of bleach would really have to be blind not to realize the similarity here.


And lol at some of the people getting their pants in a bunch over someone drawing this comparison.

Well some of the fans really pride DmC on not being "anime like" and I guess having someone draw comparisons to a well...anime just rubs them the wrong way.

Thats pretty stupid. Its pretty dumb how people feel the need to attack another person just for drawing lines between a game and one of their favorite shows. So what if I compare a fight scene to one in bleach?

I don't know I just see it as cheap and it just further proves that NT has no original ideas they love to steal from everything else except from the old devil may crys
 
I immediately think of Bleach too when i thought Hollow Vergil. He got the same color scheme, the almost same weapon (Both Katanas)and the fact that Vergil also need to defeat this other self of him to get power.

And yes, i'm also ****ing aware that bleach doesn't own the word "hollow". That is obvious but if you don't even see the similarities then either you're blind or just deliberately ignoring it(No offense)

Simply because you haven't gone through the number of people are starting to complain about the similarities. An example would be the walkthrough video.

As I said, some fans take pride in DmC being less "anime" in comparison to the old series, so some might have a problem with you comparing a fight to one that is in bleach.

Well why bring that attitude here?

No one here is doing that, get out of defense mode for a second and lighten up.

To be honest, getting tired of seeing people bring up the erratic and ignorant behavior of jerks on youtube here on the forum as a way to justify their need to defend every aspect of this game.

EDIT,

well one comment just did complain lol.

But this is still a controlled forum, people should have some restraint.
