How is this a DmC fan domain? This is the Devil May Cry forums - I didn't know it got turned into a purely DmC-related forum
. This is the DmC section, nothing more. I can post my likes and dislikes about it, not just my likes. If that were the case, it would be quite the dictatorial forum, wouldn't it? I really don't see where the butthurt is coming from; it's like people just want something to react aggressively to. A great deal of my post just got ignored, and my statement that it was an impopular view got blown up, for some reason.

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand. What he said was that this is basically a shelter for the people who like DmC, which is nonsense. Forums are by definition not shelters. And for some reason, he calls this 'the DmC side of the forum'. I thought we were over this 'DmC vs DMC' stuff.

Ah, well, that's none of my concern. I don't care whether you're a fan of DmC or DMC, I just wanted to expound my reasons for disliking DmC, and this was the best place to do it in. It's not general enough to post in the 'general' section.

Fine.
For the longest time, this DmC section was the one place people who actually cared for the game could go. All the vitriol was so pervasive everywhere else, you couldn't express interest on YouTube, at GameFAQs, or most other Devil May Cry-related sites. Even NeoGAF was full of a lot of it. This community, however, didn't have its head so far up its butt, and while some members existed here who used to start sh!t in the section, people were mostly left to themselves and good discussions were plentiful - it's why I joined this place, because even most of the criticism was worthwhile.
That has since changed over the year since the game's release, but this is still a place who really like DmC to feel comfortable. Some of are still somewhat gunshy about criticism, or just plain having to see people come in here to talk about what they don't like about DmC - it's a less evil version of the asshats who would follow DmC content just to sh!t on it.
Remember the joke about I made about going to Chicago and being surprised that people don't like the Packers? Maybe it's lost on you because you don't know football. The Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears have a rivalry, so you shouldn't be surprised to see people unhappy of a Packers fan in their city.
Similarly, why the hell would you be surprised your opinion is unpopular when you come here and surround yourself by people who love the game...?
The whole point of what I was getting as is how you said that "Not liking DmC is an unpopular opinion around here," where 'around here' I took to mean the DmC section of the forum (if that's not what you meant, then sorry). Again, of course the opinion is unpopular in a place where many people who love DmC congregate!
I don't care that you specifically posted this on the DmC Section. My problem with the location of the post is when you brought up how it's an unpopular opinion here, on the section where DmC fans hang out.

"DmC fan domain" semantics aside, this particular section, the DmC Section of the forum, is where people who like the game hang out. Don't be surprised to get the stink eye for not liking it.

No prob, I'm just getting really tired of some people tripping over the smallest things. The reason for my post was to explain why I dislike DmC, and that it's not because I dislike change. Then suddenly this *one* sentence gets attacked, about the fact that it's impopular to dislike DmC. Weird.
Anyway, thanks for clearing it up.

Well, that's good to hear, but I've seen some people who just have no idea how I feel about it (like Jak, it seems). He argued that dislike toward DmC stems from wanting to dislike it due to a generation gap, or just disliking change. In some cases, maybe people are afraid of change, but not me. Thanks, anyway.

For what it's worth, I think we've been past the DmC vs DMC thing a long time ago. That's what actually makes people's vitriolic comments and jabs even more annoying, I feel :/

Apparently it doesn't work like that. You got an unpopular opinion keep it to your self. If that's how every other place in DMC/DmC fandom does it we'll do it just like that here. This is no place for personal opinions and tastes nor civilized debate and discussion.

I hope this is the last we will see of how much you or anyone else dislikes everything about DmC (but the environments :/, yeah, its getting old), In fact, I have an idea for you and everyone else who doesn't like DmC, y'all should just put it on your profile, that way you can all direct people in case they forget. *sheesh* it's like "WHY CAN"T I HATE DmC WHY WHY WHY?" People, you can hate it all you want, just stop plaguing the message board with the same old tune over and over, I keep asking the mods to just make a sticky thread where you and everyone that dislikes DmC can just post back and forth about how much DmC sucks.
