Is DMC2 Canon or has Capcom erased it from the timeline?

They don't deny its canon status. They just don't talk about it because it was black stain in their book. The art book is called 3142 for a reason. Heck, even the History of Devil May Cry in DMC4 takes DMC2 into consideration.

And btw, if they did declare it non canon, then it would be non canon, no matter what we say.

Legit feeling, but pal, doesn't work like that. It's not a matter of opinions. It can be canon in your head, but that doesn't mean it IS actually canon if they decide not to make it. Nothing of what we say can take precedence on an official non canon status, if they ever decide to take DMC2 out of the timeline.

But it is canon, so I don't see where the problem is, they just don't talk about it cause they were not happy with how it turned out to be, that's it.

because there is no problem, you were talking of a non-canon scenario where what we think won't matter, and i i replied if that's the case what they think won't matter, it's more of a selfish statement from me..

3. almost, he smiled tho, like manly tears, those are manly smile.. did dmc1 dante smile btw? i've litle memories of the game too

4. his personality is cool, he's a cool person .. and to be honest, dmc1 dante has no personality too to me..

the point is, dmc2 dante is closer to dmc1 dante, he's a more mature and calm version, so words like "how he changed that way" don't fit for me
