I just have to say to the devs of this game:

Breaking8ad

i am the danger, i am the one who knocks!!
Good Job. No really, I have been watching this game from the start (being a fan of DMC since it was first released) and was very excited to see a new take on Dante's story. I think it's going to turn out great and props for the awesome demo that made me want to buy this more.

Though, what they first showed for the game was horrendous.

They made a lot of effort to tweak it and make it better. I respect that and it allowed me to get into "their" version of Devil may Cry.

I wouldn't have gave them a chance when Dante looked like a gay zombie cursing against everything. They showed it was deeper than that, and gave him his true face back, which is all that matters. Also, they pretty much had won me over when Vergil made his appearance.

Now it's preordered.

Welcome to this thread! I too thought "something" changed when the first PV came out.
Well let's see together what happens when the whole game comes out.

I have to say that after Dante was redesigned, he seems a whole lot more relatable.

Also, he's still the cocky jerkass we've all come to know and love. He just has a slightly more... colorful vocabulary now. So he actually kind of reminds me of Nero AND Dante. And now that I've actually gotten to play the game, it seems like this game will be shaping up to be a rather fun experience. I was told that the Under Watch mission was actually shortened for the demo, and if that's so, I'm expecting relatively long missions like DMC2's and 3's.

Yeah, there are demons to fight in that church in the full version of the game. Even if the missions were shorter when it comes to minutes, the events in Limbo make the missions a bit more memorable, and they would seem longer as a result. I think it would be interesting to see an expert playthrough of all 5 games and see which one took the longest (cutscenes included).

They really have put a ton of passionate effort into making this game and fulfilling their vision. It's well-crafted in each important area for a modern videogame. Although some people will dislike the direction they've taken in perpetuity, you have to admit that the folks at Ninja Theory have actualized their dream with extreme clarity. The characters aren't wishy-washy or pointlessly mysterious. The combat's damn fun. The world is evocative.

Nothing is perfect, of course, but I think this could easily be the best Devil May Cry game.

I hope Tameem read this thread. He should visit forums like devilmaycry.org and stop wasting his time on GF. Threads like this always show the developers that there's still people who respect their work.

I really liked all the games in the series. Just not the voice acting of a few of the titles in the series. So I am glad to hear (my ears thank Ninja Theory for not having horrible VAs very much.) that the voice acting is alot better. When I first saw Dante in the original teaser/trailer I knew that it was just a WIP. That it hadn't took off yet from it's concept stages and it was still coming to some sort of fruition with the story we have now. Alot of characters in games that I have quite enjoyed have made a major changes aesthetically during their development timeline. This even happens in movies (Prometheus, the "zombie" that attacks the crew was initially entirely CGI, and it was very obvious that it was in some points.) quite a bit. So why everyone was so quick to jump the gun was beyond me. And I also understood the whole "punk" flag on the arm. I had a friend that not too long ago (before this game was announced) that wore arm bands and cut his hair in all sorts of different ways.

Anyways, I think the game looks great!

I was iffy from the announcement trailer, but not that I hated it. I just had no idea what it was they were doing, and being the curious sort, it really intrigued me. I love DMC, and getting to see a different take on the series is a real plus for me, because I love seeing that done with other works; Alice in Wonderland, all the different comic book entities, even stuff like the AniMatrix was really cool for seeing other people's interpretations and visions for things.

I love the concepts proposed by DmC, and I really want to see how it all plays out. Plus, I do really love the gameplay, despite these glitches that other people have seen.

I'm still extremely skeptical about this title. While it doesn't live up to the DMC standards I understand that this game is a completely different spin on things. It all reminds me of the Prince of Persia franchise development-wise. On it's own merits, it's not a bad game at all, but my final judgement will have to wait until the full game is out.

At least you tackle it with your big kid pants on.

Until I see the release, play the entirety of it and then come to my conclusions I'm not guna be congratulating NT for anything. Many games have looked absolutely amazing in many ways and upon release have fallen off their pre-set pedestal. DmC is no exception and has every possibility of doing the same. May seem a harsh way to look at it but it's just the way I've grown to become.

That's how I'm looking at this game as of now.

The demo has shown me that the combat is very fast paced and fun. If all the levels are as fun and replayable as Under Watch was, then we won't have a problem.
I can't say that much about the story yet, but judging from Nina Theory's track record and what we've seen from trailers, I like it so far.

I've got high expectations, but I'm not ready to say if it's going to be as good as I think it will be.

Off Topic:

"Viola, bitch!"

Why does this thread not seem fair to me?

I mean if someone posted a thread here about why they disagree with DmC, it would probably get bombarded with people who will defend it and try to prove them wrong. (Like me)

But if a thread about why they like DmC is posted it's showered with likes.

I don't know. It just feels off to me for some reason or another.:/

Because there's more than enough of those all over the internet :p

Fine. I'll post post a DmC disagreement thread. Watch me get showered with likes anyway. :D

I think there are PLENTY of DmC hate boards and threads elsewhere, alot of older DMC fans like to go a bit overboard
