I disagree. Tell me what insight DMC 3 provided when it comes to the story that DMC 1 story didn´t provide?
It's not about the insight it's about how i enjoyed more the story.

You saying "DMC 3 story is not better than DMC 1" as if it's a fact.
DMC 3 story had it´s good stuff, but honestly it was mostly a joke.
Even at end when Vergil charged toward demon king he looked stupid. (not saying he is stupid though)
DMC 3 was a generic story with "cool" stuff.
There was no depth to it. Which makes it not better than DMC 1s. That´s a fact.

You're not speaking for the half of the fanbase, neither you're speaking for the majority of the fanbase.
Therefore,it's not a fact.There are many people who considers DMC 3's story is better than DMC 1.

I remember him killing humans, yes. I believe in DMC2's novel he also killed humans, however they were being controlled by parasites. Even a topic of "would Dante kill a human?" will have no answer. This is something I just realized. The games don't answer this, the anime says he won't, while the novels says that he would.
EDIT: I liked the DMC3 plot. I hated the level design though, and other elements of the game. Overall, I think DMC1 and DMC3 had the best plots. I liked DMC1's the most out of all the games.
I see your point well. But you have yet to prove to me DMC 3 had much depth. And it does´t matter what fan base says, people have bias.
Infact DMC 3 was first DMC game i bought. DMC 1 got me hooked.
The joke part is true because i have read many times people talk bad abut Dante because of his lines in DMC 3, and that DmC Dante is "more controlled".
And even if whole world thinks DMC 3 was better it does´t matter what they think as long as they can´t prove their claim.
As for Vergil running to demon king, it would be more suitable for the story to end as he walked towards the demon, and not running in a weird way towards it. The demon was far away.
DMC's story would makes my brain hurt if consider the novels canon xD

Dude. You can't prove your claim that DMC3 is better either. That's people's opinion. For example, I thought DMC2 was better then DMC3. Does that make me wrong? no. because that's what I think. If I think DMC2 is better then DMC3 then I can because that's what I think. True, DMC1, IMO was better then DMC3 but that doesn't mean a lot of people will agree with me. DMC3 was just there for gameplay. Storywise, I thought it was an Inuyasha rip off. But again, this is what I think, not what's fact.
After all the lines DMC 3 Dante gives, at end of killing tons of demons you ask yourself:
How did Eva die exactly?
What did Dante and Vergil do after she was murdered? (How did they react for example)
Why does Vergil want power?
Why is no society present in DMC 3?
DMC 1 was there to tell you a story plus entertain you with lines like "Flock off feather face or stick around to learn it the hard way".
DMC 3 is just there to entertain you. (Dante hits jukebox and destroys it and it starts to play
?).Not saying DMC 1 story was superb but it is better than DMC 3. And considering PC became available to people less than 20 years ago, there is a time gap between DMC 1 and 3 which makes it not right to compare DMC 1 story to DMC 3.

I don´t see it that way. DMC 3 was far from being a good story. And just like you say many people liked it (not that liking a story means necessarily that the story is good) i can say many people disliked it also. Calling Dante´s lines for cheesy and what not.
I liked DMC 3 story a lot when i played it. But nowadays i have come to realize it´s really not a good story.
It´s just generic one with over top scenes.

They're considered canon but they're not the same in my opinion. DMC3 was the reboot to DMC1 after DMC2 did poorly, and CAPCOM screwed up.
I know Eva was killed by demons. But getting some insight on how the demons managed to kill her would be nice.
I wanted to know why Vergil and Dante didn´t stick together since they are brothers.
And before Tower appeared, Arkham and Vergil was in library (that´s when they met), and none else except them was there. The library was just a empty shell with the two of them.
Noone else was seen.
Also no human were killed by any demon. With "TONS of humans" i never once saw a demon kill a "human".
"human" = didn't exist in DMC 3. = no society.
DMC 3 CAN be seen as a reboot in some way, but the story was consistent to DMC 1 in that they showed Vergil´s past up til he died.
But i view it as a alternative story and nothing more than that.

Most of DMC 3 cutscenes were just waste.
As i said i liked the story a lot when i bought DMC 3, but looking back on it from a Story conscious perspective it sucked.
Shallow and generic is how i would describe DMC 3 story.

Eva's human. A normal human woman. Of course she died.
Vergil pretty much ran away after the demons came to their house. (Atleast that's what I've speculated from the manga...even though it's not truely canon.)
The libary was in Temi-ni-gru. Humans would die in temi-ni-gru. (Except Lady)
You don't have to see the demons kill humans to know they were killed by them. They were killed after Dante was done with shower, and before he stepped out his office in mission 1.

and how DMC 1 story is great? None of the DMC story is really that great which deserves an oscar award.
There a person saying that the world would be destroyed by some badguy,the superhero goes to the place where the badguy is and superhero gonna defeat the main bad guy to save the world.
