How to make Kyrie a better character?

I guess that could be, but if that is so, how come Sanctus didn't know Nero was a half-demon? Or he did, and merely hid it in attempt to lure Dante in?

It would be easier if Kyrie didn't know she was a succubus until recently.

Maybe Credo found a way to block it and not tell her?

What I have a problem with is, apparently Credo, Nero and Kyrie grew up in the same household; and Kyrie is Credo's sister. So to "implant" Kyrie with a demon, or turn her into one, Sanctus would have had access to Nero as well - in which case is questionable that his quarter-demonic nature would have eluded Sanctus. Granted, there is the possibility that Sanctus knew of it but didn't act because he was already hoping to lure Dante in, and Nero was under care of a loyal knight so he wasn't going anywhere anyway. In which case he may have well planted Kyrie to make sure Nero doesn't go anywhere.

Nero is quarter demon though , and it wasn't until he was attacked by a demon outside fortuna and it's DNA started a metamorphosis of his arm that he knew something was off

Without a devil trigger and being quarter demon , and sanctus himself being human up til the Ascension, he wouldn't have seen any indication other than the resemblance to Dante and Vergil and silver hair

He may have suspected though

True. Kyrie clearly was unaware of Nero's nature, going by her reaction to his "new and improved" hand. So it is likely that Credo didn't know, and Sanctus either. But if that is so, why would have Sanctus gone through the trouble of implanting Kyrie and risking loss of two of his strongest soldiers? Though it is rather strongly implied that he simply doesn't understand feelings of love and loyalty, that is kinda contradicted by him using Kyrie to lure Nero in.

Lol you do realise this is a hypothetical right ha ha

She isn't actually a suucubus

But this could work, she was put in place to Syphon Nero's power when it started to manifest, as sanctus suspected he may tie into Vergil who he had met years before

Said power could help him power the saviour if Dante didn't work out

Call it a backup plan , then when Dante was too powerful sanctus absorbed his power with Yamato and the devil bringer as that presented itself before him ,so Kyrie wasn't needed

With sanctus gone now she was approached by Mundus and will take Nero's power to break Mundus seal

That's how I would write it

fanart of Kyrie ready for a fight.

@ef9 o shea Which might well break Nero, and he'd become new antagonist. So for the second half of the game you'd be playing as Vergil trying to knock some sense into his son's head. Kinda like that reversal of roles compared to him and Dante.

That would make for 2 antagonists though lol

What I was thinking was , Nero trying brute force first to kill Kyrie as he wants to save her soul even if it means killing her

But she annihilates him, patty tells him there may be a way to separate Kyrie from the entity but he needs the help of Vergil

So you then have to go into the demon world and fight your way through it to get the Vergil and get him and Dante out

Then Vergil does the deed and separates the entity from Kyrie

It latches onto a nearby demon and goes full power , Nero can't beat it alone so you play the final fight in coop with Vergil and Nero

While that happens a bonus mission is played where Dante fights off a demon army solo

And why not two antagonists? Not like it hasn't happened before, and in that way Vergil would indirectly be saving Kyrie and Nero both. That being said, I like your idea even more.

Nero being bad and more like Vergil would be way too repetitive, that's why I'd be against it

The people around Nero would calm him and help him to find solutions to help Kyrie

As brute force and rage won't help him

Or maybe someone tries to kill Kyrie, Nero gives in to rage and gets captured... oh wait, that already happened, and apparently Nero didn't learn a thing from it. Though you could make it novel by having Kyrie help rescue him, instead of having to be rescued alongside him. Could also be an opportunity for some nice Kyrie/Vergil interaction. "Soo, can you tell me some stories about my son? I'm afraid I didn't really get to know him."

I really think making her like a female Constantine has the best potential

Makes her relevant and useful without being a fighter etc

Maybe be better for Kyrie to be killed by someone right in front of Nero and have a new love interest appear in his life rekindling that broken spirit. And for Kyrie to return as a ghost. Otherwise, a way to reincarnate Kyrie into someone else: like a news reporter who can handle herself but still be in love with Nero.

Killing her is pointless as she is of no importance to the gamerbase

It's supposed to be about making her a better character, so killing her in front of Nero for no good reason negates that , as does reincarnation

That wouldn't make her "better character", that would make her "plot device". And as @ef9 o shea said, she's had so little screentime - and what she did have was a generic "damsel in distress" - you could have replaced her with a mannequin and it would have changed very little in terms of... anything. She needs her own role, and an acting one at that, instead of her just corpsing around.

You mean that occult detective? Had to Google it, I'm only familiar with the Emperor lol. But yeah, that could work, it would be a way of making her relevant without her having to develop combat abilities. She could get her own playthrough similar to other detective games, or point-and-click adventures, and act as sort-of mission support for Nero when he is running around doing his stuff. Would be a good way of giving more diversity to games... her playthroughts would turn the game from action to stealth-based one.

Lol you guys want to turn devil may cry into splinter cell or mgs with this stealth stuff

Never in my life heard of a stealth hack and slash genre ha ha ha

I respect your thoughts though
