Okay is Stylish Nero's 3 step plan in fixing Devil May Cry.
Step 1: Fire Koyabashi. He is the root of your problem (DMC4). He even had a hand in RE6 production or better yet just keep him away from DMC (Capcom apparently has a record of never firing their workers...people just leave Capcom). Also nullify anything he said about DMC4/DMC3/DMC1/DMC anime...in fact anything DMC that weren't or isn't backed up in any game or any official source (the time gap in DMC3 to DMC4 being 10 years....bullsh*t)
Step 2: Have a set team for DMC games or better yet replace the old team since Itsuno would rather work on Dragon's Dogma and he himself stated that he didn't want DMC games to be made by same team over and over again so that way it'll go dull. Motohide Eshiro as producer (he produced DmC and any other IP he was able to make faithful successors such as Okamiden and Ace Attorney). Neo G could be a good candidate to replace Itsuno and even Ryota Niitsuma and his MvC3 team are good candidates to replace Itsuno team. Have a new artist as well....forgot his name but the guy who worked on Chaos Legion's artstyle is perfect for DMC (just as if not more gothic than DMC1) and throw in some Darkstalkers artists as well.
Step 3: Remake DMC1. Reason is well its Capcom...they remade Resident Evil 1 and MegaMan and MegaMan X. Remaking Street Fighter (a fighting game) would be hard...considering well story elements would affect the character roster and other factors so after Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and MegaMan..what is next.....Devil May Cry (Well its in their top 5 franchises) so why not remake that. Plus they can easily iron out any plot holes/inconsistencies between DMC3 and DMC1 such as changing Trish's statement about Dante's mom and brother's fate to match DMC3 and even the error about the color of the amulets (make the amulets proper the colors in DMC3) as well as put a stronger emphasis on the small stuff such as why that plane was there and could work and even throw in Lady in the......nah forget Lady didn't know who Trish was in the anime but hey at least acknowledge that she exists...can even alter around some stuff (like add extra bosses, you fight certain bosses less) or make Alastor and Ifrit into boss battles. Can add some extra stuff to the original story too. Even a Sparda mode where its similar to Vergil in DMC3: SE but with more/different cutscenes from Dante and some extra stuff. Add in an extra ice weapon (fire, lightning, ice) and can use DMC4 combat system. DMC1 with DMC4's combat system.....best hack and slash ever....maybe....
