Yeah I was also thinking along these lines. My perspective is that Dante will become just plain Uber - A half Angel/half Demon, Nero becomes Sparda reincarnate with FULL Sparda power & Vergil matches Nero eventually so you have 2 Sparda level demons and a BADA$$ Demon, Angel hybrid.

Oh Yeah.Vergil as a bad-ass demon.Oh about the general :I thought that it's better for him to start as a pure angel and then towards the end of the game acheive demon powers too, like Arkham did and after him those at the order with the Ascension Cerempny.Though his way will be more mysterious, more unseen and far more cunning. It will also be his trump card against Dante.

Very nice idea man... yeah I want to give Dante and the General a very parallel story, both have certain elements of each other and Dante will have to be careful not to change too much and follow in the Generals footsteps. Yeah, I think keep Vergil as he is... just demon & human. He honestly wouldn't fit having Angel in him. Maybe only 1 of the twins were "blessed" with the gift of both Angel & Demonic powers. Or Dante's personality is why the Angelic side came through... I dunno lol

I think Vergil has some trouble controlling his inner demon in DMC 3. In the second and third fight I believe, he says "You shall not forget this devils power." Then, when he changes, he says "You are not worthy as my opponent!" Sounds like maybe THAT'S the reason Vergil wants power. What he REALLY wants is control over his inner demons.

Also, concerning "Vergil can't be an Angel". He can, but he chose his demonic heritage, which suppressed the Angel genes until they could not function again. Dante, on the other hand, embraced both his Angel and Demonic sides, making him a hybrid. But... since Nero is Sparda reincarnate, he would be a full-fledged demon. Since his human form is a shell that houses his demonic form, I think it would be cool for a cutscene halfway into the game, this happens...

Nero is standing over a defeated demon (dunno who yet) along with Kyrie, who has become a warrior of the Order Of the Arm. Suddenly, Nero grabs his chest while his eyes pulse red, just like his first time. His purple aura becomes a bright red, and his skin slowly begins to tear as his demonic form matures. As more and more of his skin disintegrates, Kyrie stands, shocked at this sudden turn of events. When it's done, Neros shirt is gone, but his pants remain. (Think Possessed Arius from DMC 2.) He turns to Kyrie, but she does not run. Instead, as he reaches out to her, she embraces him, showing her love for him. For the rest of the game, Nero is stuck in his TDT. True Devil Trigger.

Good idea? Would it work?

Either way Vergil will achieve Pure-Demon someday so...[after all he LOVES his father].

About the General : Half-Human and Half angel or simply Angel. If you go with the first scenario he will experince something that Dante experienced and leaves him bitter[Eva for Dante].But instead of going the Dante way,he lost his patience[after seriously many years though] and hates the humans for making him experience this. But i still think that Demon Ascension would be a great trump card. The whole fight would be ascended to kingdom hearts levels.

I think that after the General loses the second time, he should pull out a piece of paper that has the Ascension Ceremony inscription on it. They he uses it and becomes a demon.

I like the Nero idea, could be a pretty cool form to be with half of the game. Also I am kinda leaning towards the idea of the General (REALLY need a name) experiencing what Dante did in his own kinda way but turning the other way. Not sure yet. BTW do you guys think that Dante being half angel will change the character too much? Or do you think if his personality remains true to Dante, it won't really matter.

Do yas think keep it him being a half angel/half demon or change the story so it simply delves into his demon side a lot more and shows the darker side of him?

HMMM...The second one.Dante darkside is far more tempting[for me] and him beating the General, succumbing to anger and go on rampage would be epic.

But even if you went with the angel one it wouldn't change that much of Dante.Probably some kind of reaction/surprise but nothing extrordinary.I think he might take advantage of it[Dante : C'mon Baby,i may look like a Devil but i'm an angel deep down.]Yeah.

A name for the General : Uriel[unles you have an angel with that name] or Astaroth[one of the devils names, used during his "fall" from paradise i think] or simply Kikeron.[A famous roman historian, praised by Augustus Caesar as the Father of History.I think...could be Julius...]

yeah I was thinking of altering and having Dante's demon side a lot more prominent... I'm at a stage where I have a lot of different ideas and don't know which to go with. I think maybe the devil side is a better way to go...

I'm confused with everyone's ideas on Dante's personality. Some want him to be an antagonist in the next game?

What'll happen on DMC6 when Vergil returns?
(Vergil fights some demons. Nero learns that the man fighting the demons is Dante's twin.)
Nero: That was so awesome! You're even cool than Dante...
Vergil: Yamato! Where is it! That sword belongs to me!
Nero: Hey! Back off!
(Nero runs)

No not the antagonist as in my game you will be playing as him but just explore the darker sides of his personality... I would never have Dante running around killing humans or anything

Nothing much.Just that Dante shows his DMC1 persona but with his DMC3 jokes.Like the bit of Dante we saw on DMC4.And yeah Vergil should return.Yet the ideas we are having currently can even feature him in this one too.

That doesn't mean he wouldn't rampage a bit on heaven/hell and kill some angels/demons out of pure anger.Having a good reason that is.

I was thinking since my story would take place AFTER DMC2, Dante will have spent roughly 6 months - 1 year in hell doing nothing but fighting. This will obviously propel his power even further and hell would have pulled his demon side closer to the surface. When he finally gets back, everyone notices Dante is A LITTLE bit more ruthless and cold (not as bad as Vergil) and the angels, mainly the General, see this and decide to bring his demon side out to justify them killing him (the General wants him dead good or bad) I imagine the angels, especially the higher ones, will be able to play a lot of mind games and trickery on Dante. Imagine him constantly seeing Eva die, THINKING all his friends are dead etc. and this could finally bring his demon side all the way out. Good excuse to increase his power btw. I dunno yet, just rambling off some ideas :D

I might take a couple of days and work on a story from ALL the comments and ideas that have been put on this thread... something for everyone

^I would 100%.And the mind tricks are a great idea. The more hideous and foul playing the angel, the worse the mind tricks.I think that apart from Dante's Devil Arms and Angel Arms he should have one normal weapon like in DMC 2 that doesn't affect his DT.I'm thinking of Lucia's blades, but pretty much anything man-made for melee combat would be good.

I think when Dante finally snaps, he should be in the plaza, with a whole bunch of angels surrounding him, mocking him. Then, after a few seconds, he goes ballistic. I think he should look like the Dreadnought armor, but with gold sleeves and leg armor, a red, coat-like armor on his chest, and large shoulder pads. Oh, and wings. Can't forget the wings. It would be called RDT. Rage Devil Trigger. Oh, speaking of triggers, I think Dante's trigger should change depending on his weapon/style. Like this...

Trickster: Dante's DT is very sleek looking, and wears an aerodynamic helmet, with large spikes coming out of his back that make him look like he's moving extremely fast. It can use very fast punches and kicks, and he talks very fast.

Swordmaster: A large, armored form with a sword grafted onto the arm. Slightly slower than Trickster form, Dante becomes a powerhouse, smashing all that oppose him. However, due to his reliance on his sword, he cannot use guns. His voice is deep and commanding.

Gunslinger: Dante's personality reaches an all time high with this one. Although he can still use swords, they're weakened, and lose their elemental properties. However, Dante becomes faster, and his guns become strong enough to be used as normal weapons. For the player who likes ranged attacks. Dante's voice is similar to his DMC 3 DT voice.

Royal Guard: Imagine Swordmaster form, but even bulkier. This is Royal Guard form. Although he's extremely slow, his defense is unrivaled, and he can use both swords and guns. However, they're slightly less potent, due to his slowed speed. His voice is extremely dark in this form, and you cannot see his face. It's hidden behind a helmet.

Devil Magic: A form that uses the elements to it's advantage. One arm constantly changes from fire to ice, and the other drips water, yet arcs with electricity. His wings are formed of light and shadow. His voice is slow and deliberate. His swords are formed from the element you choose. He is also the only form that can use magic.

And, if they're coming back...

Quicksilver: A black and white DT, and you can't see his face. It's covered by a helmet again. He's very fast, and talks so quickly that you can only understand him if you slow down time. Oh wait, you can!

Doppelganger: Normal DT. Only changes once the Doppelganger appears. Big, spiky, menacing. Never talks. Need I say more?

Good 'nuff?

Yeah... the arms wont affect his DT, it's pure Dante... And yeah they are a dodgy group... the "bad" angels that is lol
