Bought the new issue of GamesMaster and they've rated DmC 89%.

The most notable things about the review were:
-If you complete the main story, you unlock 'silver hair' dante costume as a reward.
-the old pictures that were used over a year ago to promote the game.
-they prefer the original Devil May Cry (as in the first game)
-they mention his hair a few times
-"the excellent storyline fades towards the end when it should be ramping upfor a great cinematic finale"
- narratives and level designs are imaginitive and bold with capture and voice acting that trounces past games

Graphics: 94%
Gameplay: 85%
Accessibility: 63%
Lifespan: 87%
Innovation: 84%

Judgement: 89%

A dazzling reboot that gets everything right bar the boss fights.

Personally, For what I've been reading about the new book and one enemy of this game, I think Ninja Theory have been reading my mind and watching my dreams... (Dream Runner... the Vergil Chronicles... I'm gonna sue... :P)

I thought as much.

What old pictures?

As do I.

-they mention his hair a few times

Don't most?

-"the excellent storyline fades towards the end when it should be ramping upfor a great cinematic finale"

Now this is what worries me a bit. If the finale isn't at least something that will really make me feel something for these characters, then I'm gonna be greatly dissapointed. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Of course.^_^

I'm pretty sure they gave DMC4 89% (if it wasn't gamesmaster, it was definitely another uk magazine.)

LOL!
NINJA'D...
He'd probably be paid off by Capcom to defend Ninja Theory :P

Dante sticking up his middle finger, pictures from the original Hunter trailer, and some pics from the area of the game where the demo and a few of the trailers took place.

I am just so glad you can get some costumes in game as that is what gives a Devil May Cry game its replay value to me! That and the gameplay that is!! :) THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!!!

Can you tell me a little bit of what you think about this one...."the excellent storyline fades towards the end when it should be ramping upfor a great cinematic finale" :/
That sounds a little worrisome, but we'll just have to wait until we have the game to see.

Yeah. The one thing I can argue about NT's stories as that they always end in a pretty disappointing manner, not bad, just that it goes makes you go like

FINAL CONFRONTATION. THIS IS IT. FFF-YEAH.
-The End-
Awww WHAT?? man... ok, I guess.

Or at least that's how I felt with Heavenly Sword and Enslaved.

Hey VB do they mention anything about a Bloody Palace mode?

No... sorry. In fact the only 'extra' they mention is the silver hair costume.

I should've thought they mean that it's a bit like lighting a stick of dynamite, waiting for a huge explosion and only getting a little bang.
However, there is the Vergil's downfall dlc that carries on from the game (at least I assume it does), so perhaps that will give the game the ending it needs... :S

Perhaps they are keeping it a secret then because Alex Jones confimred it would be in the game but under a different name.

So, you mean after Dante and Vergil fight (because it wouldn't be a Devil May Cry if they didn't) we get the ending and then a:

To be continued...(WHY FFXIII-2 WHY!? @_@)

Vergil's DLC is said to take place during the course of the game, so his missions will be of different stages happening between the main story. But it is likely the later missions/final mission are after the DmC ending and get an additional ending, perhaps completely the story arc.

Who knows, maybe the guy's reviewing expected a big bang ending as the previous titles (DMC3 and 4 having the swarm of enemies surround the main character and off to kick more butt he goes) and instead DmC goes for a quieter one. Mundus is killed, Vergil is defeated, our hero survives, we get a little epilogue, and that's it o.o It'll be interesting to see how it goes, I'm sure people are going to debate about it a lot. Personally I wasn't bothered by Enslaved's ending, I just felt like if left you hanging, as it needed to have a little more before the screen fade to black.

I just hope Ninja Theory don't wind up suffering from the problems Hayao Miyazaki does. From some of the films I've seen that director do he really creates some imaginative stuff, but the endings are often sudden and don't really give you a 'farewell' that you'd seek.
