Do you think Ninja Theory/Capcom is REALLY worried about sales?

Is NT/Capcom worried about the upcoming sales of DmC?

While Capcom has somewhat came out and hinted as DmC being an experiment... Thus they would probably move on to another development team if DmC does not meet a certain goal.
DmC has been stated to be a learning project for Capcom.It's them trying out Western ideas of cool style and plot to see if it imporves DMC and the sales.
It's still up in the air whether the collaboration between NT and Capcom will continue.
After all that has happened though, I don't know if NT would want to do a DmC sequel if the chance happened.

Considering Tameem and the NT team's attitude of "let us taste their tears of nerdrage" thus far, I don't see why they WOULD'NT want to tackle DmC2.

I thought NT got paid to develop DmC and Capcom get the $$$ for the actual sales? Unless NT gets a % of the sales of DmC. I guess it all depends on the contract. NT has more to be worried about because its their development on the line. While Capcom has somewhat came out and hinted as DmC being an experiment... Thus they would probably move on to another development team if DmC does not meet a certain goal.

If DmC does not preform to at least fair expectations then I don't think Devil May Cry will get any more attention until at least the upcoming movie in 2016 because it will be on the radar again. Look, the reason such a dramatic move was made to a franchise such as Devil May Cry because what they were doing already wasn't working. No matter how loud the more vocal haters can be, they still aren't the voice of the entire fandom and they can't seem to grasp how poor DMC was actually doing. Why do think Capcom turned down Ninja Theory's first design which was actually a Devil May Cry 5? It's because they needed something new and trying to bring Devil May Cry around to the newer generation of gamers is what will determine an old franchise's survival. The fanboys need to take into account all the factors that goes into making a decision such as this.

Tell me, why would Capcom undergo such grief if they felt like a reboot was the wrong thing to do? The gaming industry is an everchanging one and like everything else in the world, it grows and changes. It's true when it was said what works back then doesn't really work now. A franchise that is pushing 12 years old needs to learn to adapt or it will just die off forever and as a fan of the series, I don't want Devil May Cry to completely vanish. Nor do I want it to go stagnant because that will kill it. The gaming market in the west is also actually more successful than the east so you'd be an idiot not to set your eyes on that. The reboot still preserves what made me a Devil May Cry fan and I don't feel betrayed as a long time fan of the series. It does exactly what the series should do at this point, appeal to both new and older fans. Of course we have fans who are just are ignorant to anything about the reboot but there's just no hope for them and I couldn't care less.

They can shout from the rooftops how much they think they know better where in a nutshell they just want their way or the highway and it's their opinions which are no more correct than others. Even as a long time fan of the series I was part of the crowd losing interest in Devil May Cry because it wasn't doing anything really. It was in a hole that just seem to not go anywhere but down. The reboot actually had me interested in the series once again and I can't play games like I use to when Devil May Cry 1 was out. I only pay mind now to games that catch my attention and I have priorities that have me also passing on games when it isn't as important. Devil May Cry is a series that has a little spot in my heart so I still keep my eye on it and this reboot is doing something fresh for the franchise and I can't dismiss the work done here just because it is different because I see by no means this particular game's merits make it a bad game. I had fun which is what always mattered to me with Devil May Cry.

Come to think of it, I've never seen such heavy marketing for a DMC game before. They're really trying to get this one our there. I would guess when DmC releases, they're going to focus on Lost Planet 3, then Remember Me.
I forgot all about Lost Planet 3. Capcom constantly makes good games. NT are pros at storytelling and graphics . I'm just talking about a worst case scenario, but I'm actually learning from you guys. I still think NT/CAP are worried about this game, at least a little.

We won't know what NT or Capcom think about being worried unless they release an official statement.
Unless anyone here secretly works for NT or Capcom. Come on, we know you're hiding somewhere. :P

i really like the attitude NT and Capcom have taken, they havent faltered and they are sort of saying "bring it on" to the doubters raging kids are just mad cause theyare getting hit with comebacks and with plenty of class too. this "outrage" may have been the best thing to happen to thd franchise, ive never seen more people talking about Devil May Cry.

I kinda hope your joking no company or developer should have that kinda of attitude its a bad business practice and you lose money that way by insulting your demographic and any potential buyers who don't like that kind of attitude.

I think NT is probably more concerned with reviews and how their game is received. Just look at Platinum Games they haven't had a hit yet, but they continue to get publisher support (might be a Japanese Publisher thing though). I bet Capcom might consider them for future games if DmC sells decently.

Lets say you are selling a house wich you own and after touring the house with some potential buyers they end up politely letting you "sorry we arent really interested, its not quite what we are looking for blah blah" you would probably NOT insult them you may say something like "oh well thank you for your time anyway, have a nice day"
^^ that is how i have seen NT treat those kind of people and they are not who i was referring to.
same situation only this time the potential buyers say: "wtf? are you seriously trying to sell me this piece crap?? whatis wrong with go ****ing jump off a building. i hope while you are sleeping theres a ****ing earthquake and you and you god forsaken house get swallowed into a whole and get crushed to dust as a result you piece of crap!"
how would you react? would you be wrong to maturely defend yourself?

NT has tweeted some very mean things to people whether they were actually hating on it or asking simple honest question with no malice intended.

Its funny that you mentioned this. Kamiya(creator of DMC1) was spotted with Kaboyashi(producer of DMC4) to discuss development on a Capcom project. I am wondering what it is. For some reason I think it will be DMC5.

I remember a tweet he posted to a mad fanboy who was constantly trolling him about how the rake move was to easy to do, and being an ass to Tameen about it. So Tameen said;

"We also don't have a style that allows you to face palm your face till it bleeds."

Plus there's my favorite quote he made;

"I don't see what's so special about Halloween, I see trolls everyday."

Where? Seriously, where? Where are all these insults and mean tweets to fans? I've never heard of them, and I follow them all. The closest I've seen is Tameem cheekily responding to the people who seek out and attack him personally on his own account, and that's him having some fun in response.

I will always question the validity of crap like this because I've spent over two years pouring myself over anything new I can gleam from reviews, interviews, videos, and tweets - nothing like this has ever come up :/

That seems alittle excessive but some tweets i've seen where he kinda , I wouldn't say goes off, but is pretty rude to some people just asking questions and yeah when people just rage out on him. I would give links to the messages but i can't find them anywhere

So I hope you can somewhat believe me when I say I'm not making this up. :'(

I dunno, maybe after all the trolling he's got, he can't tell if people are being genuine or setting him up for more trolling.
Some of the people were asking for it though. There's only so much a guy can take, and it's not like he's cussed at any of them.
