DmC USA special edition?

THEY HAVE NO HOPE FOR US BUYERS IT SEEMS /oops capslock
I guess so. :/ Well at least I have the Japan Special Edition pre-ordered, but it just sucks that I had to shell out another $160 to get it, instead of about $20 extra for a special edition in the U.S.

I'm really hoping this word that Capcom is selling the new amulet on it's own is true, because I do not want to have to pree order this thing TWICE just to get that thing. Capcom is probably gonn'a **** off a LOT of US fans of teh series with this move. Art books and Japan exclusives in teh past, I understand, but now all these special editions and bonuses that everyone BUT the US is getting seem like an intentional snub and middle finger to us in the US. And no, this is not on you Euro gamers out there, I don't lay this on you, I lay this on Capcom and Ninja Theory.

Why would a development intentionally try and alienate a large faction of its fanbase? There are always reasons behind it & it isnt a decision that is taken lightly by any company. When it happens & you are charged more for receiving an inferior product maybe its time to complain.

That's how things work in the DmC world; the game sucks no matter what, and the developers are evil and consistently insult their fans :p

Nintendo did it with Other M, by trying to appeal to the japanese player base by completely revising Samus' character tio be more submissive and "moe" for japanese male gamers to appreciate, which alienated a VERY large portion of the western player base, something they knew was going to happen, and it happened with DMC4, when Kobayahi had placed down a directive to make the game appeal more to eastern gamers and make it "cleaner" to attracted a larger female base in japan, while knowing it was going to alienate the western base.

We in teeh US ARE receiving an inferior product bye not given given any kind of bonus for pre-ordering, whil Japan and Europe(FOUR Special editions, while we get NONE?!) are getting all the extras for very little extra. This is alienating the American player base, and it cannot be denied that Capcom, deciding to focus it's market in Europe for the special editions, is a big snub to it's largest market base of the past.

Each time they were merely trying to expand their markets in other areas rather than simply saying to a certain region 'Sorry you cant have this' they arent taking anything away from your version they simply arent providing you with optional extras. They are trying to expand their userbase in those other regions not reduce it & I bet you get some form of exclusive that Europeans dont get at some point to make up for it.

An "inferior product" would be us getting a stripped down game that has less content than elsewhere. Special editions are not subject to that same logic, because they are filled with extra content, but otherwise we're all getting the same game.

I also have to disagree with Other M, because she wasn't really being submissive, she was taking orders from a military leader. It ended up stupid sometimes (like when to activate the Varia suit) but that was trying to shoehorn gameplay mechanics into the narrative. Submissive, she was not :/

Okay seriously!? What the hell!? Europe gets TWO more special editions!?

Ok Capcom, this is getting ridiculous! How many times do you want me to pre-order this game, a hundred times??
And it's pretty cheap compared to the SoS edition, I mean you're getting a god-damn HOODIE + SOUNDTRACK!
Btw, wasn't there this kinda facebook-poll about a hoodie sometime ago? Cuz I really hope you'll be able to buy that hoodie sometime without the game...

But really, this is just so unfair towards you guys! *sigh* Why can't they just, like, make ONE Special Edition which will be available in ALL countries?

Only in an ideal world my friend. :'(

The point is that the US is NOT getting any kind of special edition, which is an exclusion of the market. Different special editions for different regions is expected, but when one region gets multiple types, while another gets none what so ever, from a marketing standpoint, that is excluding one specific region.

Well yeah, but that happens. Exclusion in the market even happens with entire games.

I'm just happy I'm getting the game at all. I've gotten burnt out on special editions because I have enough junk in my room as it is. I don't need a pendant or shirt I'll never wear, and I don't really need a soundtrack either (yo-ho yo-ho), and even an artbook isn't necessary when places like Creative Uncut exist :p

The US version also requires you to buy the game from three different retailers just for some MundusDumping skin packs. I said this before
Everyone is considered equal and should therefore stop being dicked around and get the same versions with the same DLCs but I was crazy.

Gears 3 is basic for everyone:
1) Basic game
2) Special edition
3) Epic Edition
Regardless of where you're from or that, you get the same crap. Capcom gonna Kappa
