DmC to be adult rating?

And i read your long posts too back then. I am talking about the present...

You don't want to talk about Hideki, because you know that I have a point.
But it's alright if you don't want to admit that. We can't have you losing your "cool" again, can we?

Now, moving on.

He says they want to redefine what made DMC cool.
Try look up the word "redefine".

No wait, let me do it for you.

redefine [ˌriːdɪˈfaɪn]
vb (tr)
to define (something) again or differently

See, what it means is that Ninja Theory have taken what made DMC cool and redefined it, as in, changed it to what is cool today. Obviously, it is THEIR definiton of what is cool today, because they can't speak for everyone. They have probably looked through some pop-culture analysis and found out what the majority thinks is cool, then used the things they agree with and implemented it into Dante's new looks.
And voila, DmC Dante is born.

So, apparently, punk'ish looks, short black hair, smoking, all that stuff... That's apparently what is cool today, and NT agrees with that. But then came all the butthurt, all the raging fans, throwing crap at them for changing their oh so precious Dante, so they made a few small changes after that, yet kept the core design. And by core design I do NOT mean DMC Dante, but the core design of the new Dante they made.
Instead of bending to the will of the raging fans, they stuck to their own ideals. I kinda admire that, really. They didn't puss out and changed his hair to long and white, or changed the coat to be right red. Instead they made Dante's new DT become a hint back to the original design. If it was planned from the start or if they decided to do so AFTER all the raging fans made their voices heard, we don't know. You don't know, I don't know, no one knows but Capcom and NT. But either way, that's what they did.
The only problem left is that there are still butthurt fans out there who keep on raging, but NT has learned to ignore them and instead listens to the constructive criticism and uses whatever they think works for their new design.
Red = irelevant to what i was discussing.

I said that Ninja theory is appealing mostly to british youths first and foremost. And that's what you proved for me. And going by what you've said they have probably done little to no research of what's cool outside of UK.

How did you get to that conclusion?

We've not been told about a research done to find out what's cool in different countries.
DmC theme is punk - started in UK
And Ninja theory like you said is making DmC what is considered cool either by them or majority - and by majority i am guessing you mean youths.
And what youths? Australian? No, british.

Red = Unimportant.
But the first sentence = EXACTLY!
We haven't been told about any research, so there is no way we know how much research they have done.
Saying anything else is just assumptions.

^ When you say "majority" who are you thinking of?

^ That's apparently cool today where? Most countries in the world? Could you be spesific?

The majority.

ma·jor·i·ty

noun, plural -ties.
the greater part or number; the number larger than half the total ( opposed to minority): the majority of the population.

What population is what i am asking you for on both questions.

Well, since Tameem said that they have tried to focus on what is cool today, I would say they have taken a wide look on what is cool in the western part of the globe, so that would be Europe and USA, since DmC is supposed to be westernized.

I pointed out earlier to Lord that researching what's cool takes alot of work. USA is a united country consisting of 52 states. With this i mean how could they have possibly covered such a big country? And on top of that west-Europe as well?

And is (your quote) considered cool in west-Europe and NA?:

Punk movement started in 1990s in North America. We're in 2011 now.

That is why i came up with conclusion that Ninja theory has most likey research first and foremost about what's cool in United Kingdom. And since Punk movement is core of UK - the look of DmC Dante would most likely be a common look in UK.

Yes, it is alot of work... and the first thing NT said was that it took over a year to work on Dante's looks. So they could have done the research.

I can only speak for myself though, as I haven't done the research, but I think Dante looks cool, and the punk'ish theme is generally cool, in my opinion. I've always liked the darker, more rough styles, such as punk, gothic, emo and such.

I don't find smoking cool, but I know that the badass stereotype includes smoking.

If it is what is considered cool by others, I don't know.
And neither do you.

Anyways, I would like to hear your opinion about the main topic of this thread, maybe some response to the points I made in my lengthy post. Instead of continuing this off-topic debate.

Well if they use curse words alot then it will be pretty weird. But i think the M rating is stupid. What are they gonna show nude 16 year old girl characters? or sex scenes?

on topic:
if ninja theory were to make DmC i think alot of people including myself would be a little shunned from the idea, because to me alot of t rated games are restricting, that's just my opinion, and alot of people would probably complain about it because its yet another thing ninja theory changed. so i think its a good thing DmC is rated M :).
