DmC Theories

He might not be in Limbo at all. A lot of his levels we've seen look a lot like places from his past, like the burning mansion. He could even really be in the Underworld, and not Limbo.

The Underworld could be very similar to Limbo, since both are demonic realms.
However, Limbo is a parody of our world, therefore it's limited in many regards.
Yet, The Underworld is an entirely different dimension. What horrors await us there?

The white hair seems quite fitting. Though, why in the human world is he viewed that way? In Limbo, he retains his appearance, but here, it's obviously the way Kat sees him. So what gives?
She probably saw the future at that moment when Dante had the white hair.

I believe it's actually an alternate costume.
For example, look at the alternate costume of Dante in my avatar, it also has white hair.

I've been thinking: What is the endgame Mundis is working towards? I know I could wait for the game to come out, but I like speculation.

I know he's controlling and manipulating humans with drink, media and debt, but for what reason? His plan has to be about more than 'hur-durr, make the humans poor and stupid'.

Vergil mentions humans are like a soul factory for Mundus, so it must be something to do with human souls, but again, for what reason? Do they give him power and is he collecting them?

Something to do with souls, I'd imagine, specifically those tormented souls Dante sees around Limbo, like in the prison.

It could also just be him trying to tighten his grip on society. A tyrant doesn't just relax once he's made it into power, he's gotta continue to put the squeeze on rebellions to stay in control.

Yep, pretty much what crush said. They see no point on killing them endlessly into extinction, why not keep a steady flow of souls? It seems far more insidious than to keep us on the run.

Instead they are mindlessly falling into their hands. In bulk.

Exactly, but WHY does he need the souls? I think the demons in Limbo may be made out of human souls.

Is he building an army of demons made from human souls to go to war against the angels?

Souls could really just be sustenance for them; food and energy.

There could be something insidious, or we could just look like burgers to them.

Poison really looks eager to eat Dante anyway...
Remember the Saviour in DMC4? It was charged by souls of demons and tons of it.
Maybe there is a device that is charged by humans instead.

BTW, I realised in the Downfall trailer the place where Vergil stabs his sword in the ground is actually his former house.
Also by the soundtrack it seems the story will end at Dante's house.
What can this mean? Does it mean maybe Dante's house is actually a portal to the underworld or something?

It could be a portal. Also, could there be more than one? There looks like a swirling portal in thr Silver Sacks tower, and Mundis appears to being going in it during on of the trailers.

Vergil will become evil because he'll realize that Dante is the true hero out of the two of them.
He gets dragged into Limbo repeatedly and escapes each time seemingly unscathed, while Vergil on the other hand seems to be dragged into Limbo for the first time in "Vergils Downfall", seeing how he's all beaten down and bruised.
He realizes, that him being fostered by a rich and caring family has made him weak and that leads him to embrace his nephillim heritage, maybe even his demonic side.

My theory on character developement. Highly out of context with what you guys are posting, but I needed to get this idea out of my system as fast as I could.
You heard it here first. ;)

Which leads me to believe that Vergils Downfall is not a story of revenge against Dante, its Vergil growing up and becoming strong.

DMC3 Dante vs Vergil battles were totally epic, I hope the same for DmC Dante vs Vergil battle.

It is possible that the last boss in the game is just Vergil. If so, I hope to do more than a quick fight and cutscene afterwards.

It was mentioned in one of the new preview videos that there were Nephilim before Dante and Vergil, but they were hunted down. Does that mean angels were doing the hunting too? But then again,I can't see why angels would be threatened by beings who go in and ount of Limbo freely.Unless angels are not as nice as they seem.

Also, if more nephilim existed, that has to mean angels and demons were meeting up and having kids, so what happened to cause a war? Unless that was what started it.
