DmC sources

So would the tv show Supernatural count as a inspiration for the reboot?
Cooldemon was talking about it in the theories thread.
It's possible. But it's as dismissable as Twilight.
But the demon in human disguise is very like John Carpenters "They Live". In Supernatural demons take controll of humans but that's not enough to make that a highly possible theory.

I think it might be more inspired to the niche genre that supernatural belongs to along with buffy/angel, hellboy etc.

CoolDemon you only want to count things that you see as sources and dismiss everything anyone else has to say. What is the point of this thread? So that you can just shove what you think down other people's throats?

CoolDemon already explained the purpose of the thread, just a page before:

That i can understand. That the last 0,01% makes you doubt.

As a reminder of point of the thread: I am thinking we can gather very possible theories of what might be a source of ideas for DmC. And then we can ask Ninja theory if these theories are true or not.

So, if you disapprove of the thread, then just ignore it. Just posting here to show to insult someone isn't really necessary.

Please carry on people:) - sorry for the off topic.

I was actually thinking - have anyone on this site, staff or not, been part of personally interviewing or been part of a Q&A with Capcom/Ninja Theory about this game? And if not, have you ever thought about doing so, to get some of these questions and points across to them?

I'm also on an unofficial Mortal Kombat forum where the staff of the site have contacted the developers of MK (now called the Netherrealm Studios) one way or the other with questions made by the forum members. So maybe that's a possibility... no?

They wouldn't answer to a Q&A. THere is too much hostility going twards NT right now and to open themselves like that wouldn't be their choise. It's no diferent than those times they had to skip questions or tipy toe around answers on that panel interview with user questions.

Please don't answer as if you know the answer is certain. We do not know if Ninja Theory or Capcom would like to do a Q&A until we actually ask them if they want to.

I do get your point though. I can understand if they have put up a wall due to all the hostility coming from the fanbase, but we should also let them know that it is indeed not ALL of us who are like that. That there are fans like us who are interested in the game and wish to learn more about it in a peaceful way without throwing unnecessary hateful stuff at them.

About 18 months ago we asked NT for an interview but they declined stating that the announcement about the new DmC had only just been made and to contact them again in the future. Steve is currently working on some stuff for this site and once he's through with that, he'll be contacting NT again to see if he can get any sort of interview or Q&A session with them.

Awesome!
I hope they will say yes this time then. ^^

Yeah. We could see this. Maybe also some new screenshots too ??

We can try if nothing else. One of our ProjectEgo members managed to snag an interview at the Eurogamer Expo last year with one of the Lionhead staff so it can happen...understandably, they prioritise their interviews and tend to give up more to the bigger names. But we might get a chance - it's worth a shot ;)

It would be really nice to see if we could get some good answers on some of the stuff we discuss in here.

That would be interesting but it depends on how it plays out. You don't want to do an interview where you learned nothing.
I think your best bet would to try around captivate.

It's highly unlikely that anyone who interviews NT or even Capcom about the new DmC will get anything exclusive unless a pre-arranged deal has been made with clauses, stipulations and other legal mumbo-jumbo which basically throttles what can and cannot be said. It's kind of standard behaviour and almost everyone does it.

If we were to get any sort of interview with NT, my guess would be that certain questions put to them will simply be evaded, ignored or outright refused on various grounds. The same could be applied to somewhere like IGN - they might glean more than us, being much bigger and famous, but essentially the meaty stuff will be saved for an approved site/interviewer/company at the most opportune moment for the devs and publisher. I sincerely doubt anything groundbreaking would be discovered by us - only so much has been given away so far and for reasons that will apply to pretty much anyone who asks for an interview. But just to have any sort of discussion with NT would be an incredibly opportunity not just for this site but for the members here who have questions they want to put to the team and might possibly get some sort of answer to.
