I honestly hate it when people say they've been a fan since the beginning of anything. No offense to anyone. Because honestly it doesn't matter. It may matter to you because you've seen it grow and improve but honestly it means nothing I especially hate it with Resident evil 6 and how people "Were there since the beginning and things needed to change so the series could survive blah blah blah" Its all just you and shouldn't matter if you've been with something since the start or you've just discovered it, but hey thats just my view

Anyone who is complaining about the individuals saying that NT ruined the game, I urge you to stop and think about this for a second. These may sound like dooms day nuck futs to you, but in a sense they're probably right.

The game has to stand on it's own merits eventually. If Ninja Theory wants to alienate the fanbase, ignore criticism, dumb the game down for a different audience and in the process LOSE the original fanbase, then I ask you, whose fault is this when the game fails? The game must stand on it's own merits.

If you betray your demographic for a different audience and they flop on you, you only have yourself to blame.

Btw this is my new favorite thing on the internet.

Not only does this gif describe perfectly whats wrong with the game, but you can even tell how Dante has been (not to be prejudice) sissified to seem extra gay and hip! "SENSATIONAL!" Compared to "Smokin' sick style!" They should have named it, "Sassy Sauce Sensational!" with extra slurs. Or how about "SPAM SPAM SPAM!"

Do you even realize how much effort it took to get triple S on the previous games? Sometimes I wonder if all the DmC fans even played the old games and aren't just the newfags in town.

You weren't there, sharing my experiences with Devil May Cry, watching it grow etc. However, I was answering a question about wether or not if I as a fan of DmC even knew the original series and had played them. So if you don't like that... well, your problem then.

Who gives a flying hell if the game is easy, who cares. It's a video game, it's supposed to be fun. If you don't like it, great, that's your opinion. You shouldn't go around bashing other people for liking the game, that's like me taking something you like and degrade it in front of you.

I don't honestly, it's just a hobby of mine. Personally I wouldn't have bought the game even if it was good. I was always planning on torrenting it. DmC is no where near an improvement over the past games but everyone is acting like it's gold.

I guess my point in addressing it's flaws is to shut down all the people calling it the greatest thing ever, or a 9/10. I seriously question how every single major company reviews the game as almost flawless, but independent reviews like Angry Joe give it an honest 7/10 or lower. This is the real conversation we should be having right now.

So if you don't like that... well, your problem then.

I'm not trying to get on you I've seen a number of people from different fandoms who say this. I haven't been with alot of series since the beginning but just because I was doesn't mean anything it maybe appreciated but no one's going to really care. It really shouldn't matter if I can be honest here if you've been with the series or not since the beggining. ^_^

You got a good point, honestly most the time it's pretty fun to shoot down the game because of certain defenders...like the ones that ignore you for no reason. *cough* alchemist *cough*
You do have a good point..hell I love both the series and of course..both is not perfect, one is always better than the other.
the reason the defense begins is mostly because it's what they like and think is fun..there's no harm in defending it at all. But, there is a terrible shame in being hostile and offensive while defending it..like giving a fanbase a worse name than it already has.

so..yeah, assign blame were it should lie. Nt had a job, they did it. Capcom had their own...they f**ked more than anything. They decide dto **** off the old fanbase for controvery to stir up interest. It backfired.

Have you seen the mop scene in DmC? They blatantly slap fans in the face and you blame capcom? They blatantly make outrageous statements telling the fans "tough sh1t" basically and they don't care about the fanbase because "they don't exist".

It's the 4th week and DmC isn't even selling 8k units on the xbox and not even 19k on the ps3. MOTHERFUCKING STUUUUUUUPID!!!

I don't agree with him on his review. I think he was being generous. The userbase says it's a 4 but I think that's being too harsh. I'd say it's a 5 or 6.

An honest review from Joe doesn't make it a fact. There were times where I disagreed with him. He has just as much point-of-view as anyone else. Also, he said this was a great game and I'm defending it because that's also what I thought after beating this game. It's great.

Honestly this is a poorly thought out post.

Three reasons why:

#1. Kamiya already said he disliked the reboot and new Dante. After it's release however he's refused to comment on it saying only that he hopes people enjoy the game. On page 14 of this thread I already mentioned all of this.

#2. Kamiya is famous, and he does have many fans, and they did fire him. So what's your point? Well actually I think he left but I'm iffy on the details. If anyone wants to correct me that would be welcome.
#3. Devil may cry 2 was poorly translated. You have to remember, this is a Japanese game and many sentences which sound nice in Japanese don't always translate well over to English.

That doesn't mean the dialog was bad, it just means whoever was translating should have reworded it better.

I agree for the most part but I merely mentioned him because unlike many other reviewers, he actually talks about objective qualities and usually gives honest logical reasons for his likes and dislikes.

He also offers multiple perspectives. Like for example, at the end of the DmC review he says that if you're new to the series you'll enjoy it but if you're a die hard fan you'll probably be disappointed.

I doubt Angry Joe was paid for making the DmC review. And none of us on the forum are paid for our opinions either. I'm not talking about the many gaming sites who make reviews, I am talking about us, here, on this forum.
