DmC Overhype

Well I have seen others who "loving DmC" like it for rather shallow reasons as well.

Some simply like it because its new and different and nothing more.

They could not give legitimate reasons as to why they love this game other than that.

But as others have said, I'm not going to attack said opinion.

They can like/love whatever game they want for whatever reasons they want and the same applies to the guys who apparently are "hating" on the game.

Although personally I don't think that disliking what has been shown from the game automatically equates to "hating" on it or automatically being labeled a "hater" like some other supporters of it might think.

Not saying there aren't true "haters" out there however.

Indeed not. Hate is such a strong word thrown around at those speaking against the new Dante and DmC. Haters are those who have a certain dislike towards the new game, trash-talk it at every chance they get and try to put down those who like the game and speak positively of it. Just because someone dislike the game does not mean they are part of this category though.

Disliking or liking the change for just being change isn't what I would call illegitimate reasons though. Change can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on whose perspective you see it from.

However, this conversation is slowly getting off-topic. The discussion of opinions is rather overdone.

Just remember, when you read a review or preview, you don't read an analyzis of the game, you read about the writer's opinions of the game. It will rarely be unbiased.

I think that when the game comes out, we might see a wider range of reviews and feelings towards the game since they have the whole game to review.

ESPECIALLY if people dislike the DMC-Reboot.
People have to understand that everyone has a right to they're opinion & share they're opinion in a respectful manner even if they dislike the DMC-Reboot.
They shouldn't be afraid to speak up about they're dislike for it or be bullied by those that do like the DMC-Reboot.
If people can't handle that then they are a very closed minded individual & they have bigger issues then seeing dislikes for a game they've haven't played yet.

Sorry, but I have no respect for people who talk smack about my favourite gaming character, Dante, and my favourite series, DMC.

Its one thing to have legitimate complaints eg. no hard lock on, since people have different tastes, but BS claims like "lol Donte Dino he's emo xdddddddddd lel ninja theory sucks **** YOU DEMON KILLER" is something I'm not going to respect.

I'm pretty sure the ones who are overhyping it are IGN and Gamespot, and it's their JOB to overhype games.

Sometimes people have opinions. Some can be legitimate. others can just be straight up hating.

Also Hey Randomluz, I think you should possibly jot this thread down as a possible entry into your hall of shame thread.:D

When they come across as obsessive irrational fans with a serious case of insanity issues, i agree. I wouldn't waste anymore time on them.
The exact same thing goes for those obsessive DMC-Reboot fanboys & girls that assume the DMC-Reboot is god's gift to the DevilMayCry series before they've even put their hands on it & refuse to except a simple I JUST DON'T LIKE IT answer, is someone i won't waste time on either.
If someone cannot except another person's opinion that's giving in a respectful way then there's no reason to continue the conversation.

Just to be clear, I really like DmC. I played it and it was wicked.

But nothing, I repeat, NOTHING will EVER beat DMC3. Ever. Not even Kamiya could top DMC3.

He did. It was called Bayonetta.
Personally, Bayonetta was far too clunky for my tastes. I never really liked the idea of soft hits and heavy hits and the hit stops and frame drops(360 ver btw) really killed the mood. Bayonetta was more complex for sure, but sometimes simplicity has its own charm. I like the new DmC but hopefully there will a PC mod that removes all the hit stops from the attacks so that the game play is like the one in the Captivate trailer.

Definitely. I'm actually interested in seeing a review from Angry Joe or Zero Punctuation. Hell, Bennett the Sage would be interesting to hear, too.

yh joe knows whats what (mostly) and i want to hear the loading bars thoughts. DmCs gonna get a lot of reviews due to all the contravercy around it. but im not listening to any of it until i finish the game.

That's a problem, too, because there's going to be a lot more people talking about it just because DmC is so controversial. It's become such a talking point in action gaming communities, they'll toss one out just to get more hits :x

Though DmC looks like it could be my newest favourite Devil May Cry game, DMC3 is definately my favourite of the old series. And I agree with the Kamiya statement. I liked Bayonetta, but it wasn't as fun or cool as DMC3.

shoutouts to spill.com.

funny thing is games tend to be over-hyped near their release.

Bayonetta did it, in my opinion.
Bayonetta plays like DMC but it's got alot of elements that really make it' it's own thing. If you walk in expecting a DMC game you won't get that and while most people would say they're identical we know better.

oh I can't wait for Zero punctuation!

I love his complete roast on Metal gear and DMC4.
