Perhaps he is hiding his identity from Dante.
I can remember from the novel that demons kept saying, "Dante" whenever they appeared (just like in the trailer with the church floor ripping apart).

You can evade her punches, but she does this acid attack that covers the whole platform that you are standing on. So you need to move to another platform until the acid evaporates from the previous one. To move from platform to platform you use the angel lift.
No cornier than Echidna's "Who the hell are you to" Dante in DmC 4 after he Did a Ronaldo Cristiano soccer muti-kick to her seeds all of which hit her head one after another. If anything, this game is just updating and darkening the same style.
