DmC interview: Capcom ‘had a lot to prove to you’

1. Dante just met Trish and BARELY interacted. Nero known Kyrie for almost his entire life.
2. Trish tried to kill Dante not too long ago. Nero loves Kyrie.

Dante's reaction to Trish's death is just as reasonable as Nero's.

Sorry mate I...uhh...just...realised that and edited a min ago before you posted.
But don't have me mistaken. I like nero's abilities and I simply don't want him to look dust-covered than Dante. I just dislike that scene.

Yeah with Trish and Kyrie is that:

Plus Nero was mainly crying over how useless he was not losing Kyrie. Plus he picked himself up and moved on. Dante was dumb enough to leave his father RELEASED SWORD & AMULET next to Trish IN THE DEMONWORLD. Nero was just being an over dramatic teenager Dante was being a full time DUMBASS.

WTF did I just see!? (rewinds mission video)...
I totally surrender your majesty. lol

Because old Dante is too anime style to fit into a more modern world, and he'd probably get laughed at. Plus why would someone like DMC1 Dante be dressed like that everywhere he walks and be looked at as some wierdo in a flashy red coat and pure white hair.

Lol are people still saying this. The assertion that Dante's original design wouldn't work in a serious setting has never made any sense. I mean, take Batman. The Nolan movies, a gritty and realistic reboot set in the modern world, kept his ridiculous batsuit and cape. Dante's red coat and white hair are nothing compared to a grown man dressed up like a woodland animal strolling around in public, but nobody thought Batman had to wear jeans and a ski mask to tell a serious story and make a ton of money from it.

Anyone can stroll in normal society dress in flashy red...they might jumped and ganged on by the Crips but hey and Vergil has white hair and he is rich and very well known in the DMCverse.

Batman and Marvel/DC Comics are very common with us Americans so them changing Batman's looks would otherwise ****ed us off but since Dante & DMC is a well unknown Japanese video game series to 75% of most Westerners it probably doesn't matter.

Plus noone ever said Batman's batsuit was ridiculous....plus

Way too many cowboy straps and on shirt belt buckles to not be considered ridiculous.

Also.......

would look a bit better if he was wearing an undershirt.

Didn't the reason DR off the record came out was because the original DR 2 sucked? I don't pay attention to the dead rising series.

I would think putting old Dante in DmC was a bad idea artistically and visually. Plus story wise as well. Because old Dante is too anime style to fit into a more modern world, and he'd probably get laughed at. Plus why would someone like DMC1 Dante be dressed like that everywhere he walks and be looked at as some wierdo in a flashy red coat and pure white hair. But hey, this is a video game so I can't say.

The style system would be confusing because you just switched to learning new gameplay, and now you have to switch back to the original controls? I'd rather stick with what's been given then having to switch between upgraded game mechanics to the copy paste gameplay mechanics that have been used for two games now, and will probably never change anymore.
oh no it was a good game it's just that people love Frank, and it's a what if story were frank was in fortune city during the outbreak, the comercial for it explains everything, it's like the OJ's book

Ha ha. Very funny.

Lol just messing with ya dude.

Just thought I would point out how eerily similar your outlook is to Tameen and his team's.

Nothing wrong with it really, not trying to ridicule or berate your opinion or anything like that.

its ok if your outlook is exactly the same as his.

Really? Lol Guess so.^_^

I still stand true to what I said. I think it would look odd for old Dante to be in new Dante.s setting just as it would look weird for new Dante to be in old Dante's setting.

You're not the only one that thinks so. The original Dante is too flashy for the DmC world. Both were dark, but his design was meant for a specific game world, just like this Dante. It would just be awkward to transfer one from his world to the others.

Actually, if done right, original Dante could be made apart of this world. Which Dante? The DMC 2 one. Mute and ready to kick your ass.

I hope that DMC 2 Dante is a secret boss. I would love that so much. Because, I don't think the demon world discriminates in dimensions. As we've all seen, the secret levels have chains bound to them with a huge floating castle. Hm, could be Sparda's place.

Unfortunately I doubt we're going to have the chance to find out. DMC2 Dante would probably be the closest fit for DmC, but then it wouldn't work with the timeline. It would just be best to keep them separate.

Yeah but this wouldn't work in DMC & DmC's case cause for Dead Rising Frank & the other guy both exist together in the same world for the MegaMan EXE & Starforce crossover they exist in the same world but different time period so time travel and same goes for Sonic Generation.

DMC & DmC...different universe different timeline so a proper crossover game makes more sense. Besides why play DmC remake with DMC Dante in it rather than DMC5 or something.

If mrrandonlulz is right about them currently working on a DMC project like they're working on DmC...I'd rather it be DMC5 because unlike DragonMaster's reasons...it can work but I and many other fans would want a DMC5 or something else.

Also they can't hire Platinum since Platinum is currently making 2 games for other companies. They're too busy and DMC game being made by Platinum & NT wouldn't work out since both companies uses different engines. I mean NT would want to use an engine that makes the environment looks amazing like Enslaved while Platinum would want to use an engine that to sacrifice that for higher speed gameplay.......plus when it came to narrative and story telling....I think Kamiya or all of Platinum would want to actually alter the script so these 2 companies wouldn't work and I doubt Platinum would want to work along side another company that bashed them and their games and I doubt Tameem would want to work with them since he feels "they might ruin the western appeal and ingenuity as well as obstruct the western creative design of our game" or retarded bullsh*t along those lines.

So no...I'd rather if Platinum does make a game for Capcom they'd not waste time on DmC(unless its a DmC sequel & have NT removed from the development) and make something else worthwhile anything it could be a new DMC, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, GodHand, Strider Hiryu, Bionic Commando, Power Stone, or a new IP.

Simple, Capcom had alot to prove yes, but there was an easy way out of this, that would please the fanbase, THAT CAPCOM HAD ALREADY DONE!
Because if they TRULY cared about the original fanbase, they would go both ways by announcing the following.

"After the game is finished. We are making 'DmC: Off the Record', in which you play as Original Dante in the DmC setting.
The game will have the style system from the original 4 games, along with some help from Platinum Games for gameplay innovations. Ninja Theory will return as writers, trying to keep Dante a mix between DMC1 and DMC3 attitude wise, and suit wise, he will be wearing something similar to his DMC1 attire. The story should be as good, if not better, than DmC. Since we've made most of the enviroments, concepts, and such for DmC, Off the Record should only take 2 years at most, and should be great."

I mean really, they did this EXACT SAME THING with Dead Rising, why not DmC?

It would be easy, it would put a crap load of money in Capcoms pocket, and it would be fun for fans of the original series like me.

EVERYONE FREAKING WINS!

So why did Capcom not think of doing this?
Because

Either

A. They were stupid and were banging their own keyboards against their heads.

B. They are planning on something like this, but just haven't announced it yet.

C. Capcom don't care about the original fanbase.

I don't care how stupid people think it is, CAPCOM HAS DONE IT BEFORE!

Capcom could easily do this game, and yet they choose not to. It's ridiculous.

it is possible in theory but they would have to do it differently than with Dead rising because it is an entirely different ballpark.

i would probably just do this off the record thing with nero anyway since he has less restrictions like contuinty and since no-one knows his actual lineage, making him half angel is easy.

plus it will feel kinda pointless because i would feel why didnt they just do DMC5 in the first place and save themselves and everyone else the heartache.

On topic- We wont know whether or not this game lives up to the hype or the dreaming or the expectations till it comes out. This game could totally fail after all so its anyone's guess.
