DmC E3 GameTrailers Interview

And then there is DMC4, which puts all of these together to make even better!:troll:

Except the tower/island thing. They did a more DMC2 thing... that's good.

I haven't asked you to respect me. If anything i should ask of you is prove that your statement "DMC 3 was only good story game in DMC serie".

This is a forum for discussion. So tell me how DMC 1 was not a good story since you don't think highly of it.

It wasn't a statement, it was an opinion. My opinion. I just thought it was better than any of the other stories in the other original games, I don't need to defend my opinion.

That was probably the highlight, as well as the ending fight. DMC3 gives you a lot of cutscenes to show you what is going on in the game and stuff... it's just better done and told that way. It allows you to take away that feeling of mindlessly killing demons while you wonder "why the heck am I killing demons again?"

I still agree the story behind DMC1 was the best though. You had a glimpse of the story of Dante's life (how he had a brother and all) and you also beat the demon lord, Mundus, which was Sparda's greatest enemy. In none of the other games you get to do something like that... all you do is beat up some random person trying to get powerful... usually by trying to get Sparda's powers.

"Zero states that DMC 3 was only goodstory game" = that to me says that it's your opinion. And i said "Your opinion is wrong".

If your going to say something then you have to defend what you have said. I mean if i say "DMC 1 is the best story game the last decade" then i must elaborate and explain WHY i believe. If i can't do that then my statement is just empty words.

But i am bold enough to say your opinion that DMC 3's story being only one that's good in DMC serie is wrong.
 
DMC3 was not the best storywise but it was still intertaining. Of course to me it was like Inuyasha but that's just me. DMC1 wasn't good either. The diolage was dated, the graphics were not the best and their were hardly that many devil arms.

That's my opinion though. However DMC3 was the game changer for Devil May Cry in general as it brung a new style to the table. DMC1 is just the start of the story and while it was the better one of the DMC series, it lacked real emotion and actual feeling to it. That's what all the DMC games lacked which is why I think they're both good, but both equally fail to some degree. One isn't better then the other comepletely, just in some areas.

We are discussing the story :p Not the gameplay or graphics, so on those parts your off topic :) Graphics enchances story experience but a good story will make you want to follow what will happen next independt of graphics. And yes DMC 3 gameplay is the peak of DMC gameplay.

As for DMC 1 lacking emotion:

ON TOPIC: I guess what I'm trying to say is DMC has never had a "good" story, but more so a "Hey! Let's make an awesome gameplay game first and put up whatever involving story!" It just seems every DMC story is thought up in one day and that there's really no solid ground with it. I mean don't get me wrong, I like a good story that goes into different areas but it all depends on how it's told.

Honestly DMC 1 had a good story. It wasn't told well at times. But as you said, DMC is first and foremost a gameplay video.

And yeah i got ride of orohime for a awesome dialogue from DMC 1 :)

But i feel about DMC 1 story is that it has some stuff like Dante spitting out lines, but also decent dialogues.
The dialogue in my signature is a good example of that.

I am not saying the story presentation was great, but the story itself and many scenes and dialogues were nice.
Which overall gives a good impression about the story.

Yeah, I did always think DMC1 presented a perfect serious Dante.

I hope that's sarcasm cause I find dmc 4 to be the worst of them ( except nero's gameplay)

Why did Trish suddenly have a quick change of heart about being evil? No pondering or thought, nothing. She just did what the story needed her to do to be Dante's sexy sidekick by the story's end. Their was no reason for it anymore than there was for, say Dagon to do so if Nero or Dante had done the same with him. Female characters are always written so stupid and inconstantly.
The story in DMC 1 was poor at best. Why would Mundus bring Dante to his lair to kill him if in short time he'd be at full strength and able to shift into our world and take over. Why not wait 'till you and your army is at full strength and attack the earth when they least expect it instead of bring the one person capable of stopping you directly to you?
Face it. The story was slapped together to facilitate the great game-play.

She asked Dante why he saved her. Pretty sure that shows that she had a inner conflict inside of her.

The story of DMC 1 is from 2001, and DMC 4 story is 7 years old. For it's time, and the type of game DMC was at the time the story is worthy of being acknowledged as good.
Assassin's Creed didn't get great story all of sudden. Ubisoft applied the gameplay experience they got from Prince of Persia to AC. This experience helped them in making the AC gameplay faster, which then gave them more time to work on the story.
I expected DMC 4 story to be great considering DMC 3 was the peak of gameplay, but no the story was mediocre.

DMC 1 was the start of what was to be the gameplay of DMC. Even priortizing gameplay it still provided a decent story.

Dude, once again our minds think alike! :D DMC1 cutscenes all smashed together were about 30+minutes and DMC3 cutscenes smashed together were about 1 hour 30 minutes and DMC4 about 2 hours ( half of which is Nero screaming KYRIEEEEEEEEEEE!!! and the other half is Dante cracking a few bad jokes :lol: ) so the story development stopped after DMC3, because even though DMC4 had enough cutscenes to make a wonderful story (over 2 hours) we still don't know basically anything about Nero except that he has a big arm...

Actually, that wasn't her only moment of reflection. Right after the Griphon fight at the colosium when Dante got all self rightious and indignant she listens to him with a look that implies a certain... je ne sais quoi.

And, yet, she still resolved to kill him. The emotional follow-up wasn't consistent. It was: Try to kill him, think about it, try to kill him, think about it...
