Wait a minute, that guy is right, how the hell did that Helmbreaker hit when it clearly animated in the opposite direction!?

Good combo though, I just...wow, that's some godawful hitbox coding.

It happens all the time in the game, it thought it was following the enemy, but then the enemy ended up on the other side. I've seen enemies do it to me where i drop to one side, they attack in the direction I was in the air, and the attack still hits me.

I've seen and used quite a few glitches in the game, most noticeably JC related hitbox glitches, but every now and again I press something quickly to get out of a bad situation and an animation cancels completely, and my attack still hits.

It seems to me that sometimes the game decides whether you or a mob has taken damage way too early.

Probably a glitch concerning the fact that Helm Breaker causes damage when an enemy falls on top of it.

Its not as big as a deal as people think it is.

I'm no upper tier player myself, but I could have sworn there were times when ground attacks hit me when I was well out of range...

Personally I'm quite fond of using Aquila in the air to vacuum up all the monsters in the area then just Osiris spinning them to death. I generally don't need to do more than that to kill pretty much any enemy group once I've picked off the 'athos's.

I can't really pull of my Kablooey combo in training mode because there is only one enemy. I really like doing very unorthodox methods and it can get pretty fun when you start setting up the enemies just right to take advantage of their "friendly fire" like attacks and I give myself my own personal challenges. I've done things in DmC like bowling where I'd **** off a tyrant to get him charging at using the Aquila yanking in all the enemies around me and getting them all tackled by their fat friend. Also turning enemies into my own personal grenades as I'll shoot a Kablooey bomb on an enemy to demon pull them up with me and kick them into a bunch of harpies hitting the button and BOOM.

Personal challenges like defeating bosses with only Ebony and Ivory at their weakest levels in Dante Must Die difficulty to taking on every wave of enemies in a certain level without ever touching the ground. Done. I'm about to maybe give myself something more along the lines turning off a bunch of my upgraded moves and going back to basics on harder difficulties. Need to think of more.

Stuff like killing bosses in dmc4 with just shooting I did to see if it was possible, and it was very easily possible, Berial while staying in the air was doable too with both Dante and Nero.

A good room for staying in the air in this game is the one where the floor has that breakable glass. In fact, my technique to killing harpies is just to stay in the air to kill all of them, seems like the easiest way. While being up there may as well kill all other enemies too.

I have my own little traditions when it comes to Devil May Cry and I've done this kind of stuff in all the games so far. After I'm done with whatever the game gives me I'm mostly f*cking around more than anything. Doing stupid sh!t and seeing what I can get away with. I figured out someway to glitch through the floor in 3 using the rainstorm. Forgot particularly how to do it since I haven't played 3 in a long time but it was pretty funny because it looked like Dante was a drill. I don't care about DMC 4. 4 is gross, eww.

I managed to go invisible for a good 2 seconds with Aquila.

What happened was, I did a round trip, and angel dodged just as one of those ice dudes did his ice freezing attack... which for whatever reason froze me while Dante was in his invisible frames.
At least, I believe the ice dude's attack froze me... I can't imagine the extended invisible frames being caused by anything else.

I wouldn't really call that an "Advanced Technique". Just a glitch that serves no purpose since you're frozen in place.

Actually what is Calibur Raving? I know it isn't as good as star raving but I'm sure that if I add it to other techniques I can make something good. Either that or I just have a glorified image of it in my head and it isn't what I think it is.

Imo, lingering hitboxes like that are kinda stupid. It gives the impression that the DmC developers rushed through refining the combat system since the hitboxes in this game are extremely absurd. And it also reminds me of how ridiculous Snakes hitboxes were in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Aquila and Demon Dodge make things too easy.

If you're looking for a real challenge:

  • No Arbiter
  • No Demon Dodge. Only Angel or normal
  • No Aquila
  • No Angel Lift/Payoff
  • NO. TALKING.

Yeah, well... I thought it was pretty cool. :/

I want to see if your able to buffer attacks during that time. If you can, then it could have it's uses.... I highly doubt it'll work, but for now I'd like to believe I have a chance to contribute something...

EDIT: Buffering doesn't work. Do I get a brownie point for trying? A lot of effort goes into playing around with a glitch that serves no purpose.
EDIT: Hey, great news! I ran across another useless glitch that glitches the Renevant's fully charged bomb effect to float in the air.

I'm still studying your DMC4 Dante advanced combat tutorial, very nicely done, especially on the music!:D
How exactly did you discover all those secrets?

  • NO. TALKING.
That'll be the impossible part. I can't work out how to make this petulant little turd shut his idiot mouth.

I can't work out how to stop the camera from zooming in on his face after every wave of enemies either.

It's like, "Oh, were you trying to enjoy our watered down combat and movie cover colour palette? Well bugger you Mac! Stare into his smug eyes! STARE!"

ARGH

lol Thanks. I'm glad you like my tutorials.

I didn't really discover them. I just knew about the techniques and how to do them. They have been discovered long before I made the video. I just wanted to help people when it came to executing them.

That's it? Well, looks like I've actually been doing that for a while. Is there away to go around and circle the opponent while doing it like Star raving (I think that was the name) in DMC4?

You probably could, but it's not really that impressive in my opinion since it's really slow compared to StarRave.

harpy glitch : basically shoot them once with a shot gun (depending on what difficulty you're on) helm break them and shoot them again immediately after.

they'll float just above the ground in the fetal position

I really, really like bouncing the enemies off the ground with continuous attacks with Eryx from the air, but I can never get the timing right for a charged blow. Got any advice?
