DmC: A current haters point of view in the east.

If you want racism look at prototype 2 and oh boy you'll see how fans reacted the first damn time that game was announced.

At any rate im not surprised that such ignorance exist within the eastern side of the gaming industry. Its sad when no longer can fans get together and talk about games or be excited about them. Its the whole ego true fan debate that gets started, then the posting of "true gameplay"-cough- combo videos -cough- then of course any ONE glitch found or early gameplay flaw is automatically permanent.

Its pure fan ignorance that just messes up the gaming industry. On both sides fans who want too much (DmC) and fans who want too little (COD).There is no fixing it either because on all sides standards are just all messed up and really only the indie games that can really do much else.

Hold on. Didn't Japan not get as much info on DmC as the west do? So that just means they're still in the 2010 DMC fanboy stage. They just need to be shown more of DmC, and I think they'll be okay.

It is really weird that in the information age, so many more Western communities are learning so much more from Japanese information, but not the other way around, when English is a frickin' required language course so they should totally be able to read that sh*t!

It's like Spanish. You can pass the class, but that doesn't mean you know it instantly.

It's just trying to get more insight on what another part of the world thinks. They just seem to be...really behind on their information...

does passing with a D twice count?

Uh...I guess?

Or maybe they just don't like it period.
It happens.
Sometimes no amount of up-to-date information will change someone's mind about something.
Why even think about them, they're on that website & your on this one.
Let them think & say whatever they want.

It's not like we're completely degrading them and calling them the scum of all the Earth. (Well I'm not, cause I really don't care about other people's dislikes.)

It is a thread after all.

OFF TOPIC: I want to PM you to see if I can get something understood.

To be fair, some of their opinions are shallow, and misinformed...I dislike "the haters" who disregard the things proven true, and cling to obtuse views, and my favorite - coming to complain about videos and interviews and everything else having to do with DmC when they absolutely hate it, and have already written it off. However, that's how I am with anything - if you won't listen to facts, you jump to conclusions, and spew tired vitriol, I feel you're a waste of time and space.

There is also no way to sanely justify hating something so much and then continuously seeking out that which makes you so angry. Why make a thread devoted to something you hate...? Why, when you could spend your time doing literally anything else in the world instead?

This thread, asking about why some in the East hated DmC, is nothing more then enlightenment, maybe they knew something we didn't (not the case). We were just curious, is all.

It's not curiosity if they know something the west doesn't, it's inability to except someone's opinion.

Your unwillingness to except they're choice as you & nearly everyone else spew information & trying to force feed them facts to justify your love to a game when tons of them didn't ask you, makes you & every other DMC-Reboot supporter come across just as intolerant & a hater as you see them.

Some people hate the DMC-Reboot & no amount of fact filled reasoning will change that.
You raise a valid point as people are wrong on both accounts. It is unfortunately a no win situation as the supporters cannot fathom why one can just dislike something with no rational thought even though humans have been doing that for years and the "haters" can't fathom why people would like something they personally hate. I do feel however that those who dislike the game should stop following this games media to consistently insult it because that is deliberately provoking everyone who is keeping up with everyone who likes it. (In my personal experience correct me if this statement I'm about to make is wrong) someone who hates the reboot is much more likely to seek out people on forums and media who like it to yell at them then someone who likes the reboot going out of their way to a forum where everyone who hates it has gathered to lecture them on why its good.

Trying to push your beliefs on someone isn't doing anything but sparking more hatred for it & giving the DMC-Reboot more publicity in the process.
However it won't be because of how good or bad the game is but how everyone fought over it like children.
That's what i'll remember each time i think about it.

No, I was saying that it was our curiosity about their viewpoint, and that maybe they knew something we didn't, and it was helping them form their opinion. But no...there isn't...they're actually behind us in the amount of info they get, apparently :s

And as for "force-feeding" them information; they invite that consequence by frequenting the content they hate. When they spout things that have been proven false, they open a dialogue and invite people to correct them. If they didn't want some "pro-DmC" stuff shoved down their throat, then they shouldn't make blatantly false or obtuse comments, and they shouldn't keep coming back to see stuff for something they want no part of. That's not to say that they don't have a right to comment, but when they do, they have to deal with the consequences that come along with opening a dialogue...

I don't doubt that there are plenty of people who don't like, nor care, about DmC, and have done the sane thing, and continued on with their lives, not giving it another thought, but then there's this breed of people that can't help but talk about it, and it makes my brains churn trying to figure out why someone would subject themselves to that O_o

It goes both ways imo and there is no way to judge that. Plus we don't have the final product yet so some people still might be perplexed that people think a game is great when it isn't even out yet. It's probably true that some people will hate until the end and vice versa, but you just have to accept that and move on. It's just like console wars where people continually say gaybox360 and gaystation 3. Do you feel the need to tell them they are stupid all the time when they are probably 12 or 13?

yes and no i would never want to seek them out to tell them this but if they went out of their way to yell PS3 IS GAY OR 360 IS GAY i would wanna tell them they are stupid even if they were twelve. It's just an annoying thing that you know you can't win but you feel the urge to do it anyway :/

It exists in all of us (oldie but goodie):

Also going to the starting post.
But hasn't it crossed anyone's mind that it's said japanese hates western games, so they could see this as a big FU by Ninja theory.
Capcom dropping the eastern DevilMayCry style for a western style is possibly ticking them off & they refuse to support it.
Japan in general doesn't like buying stuff from other countries, especially the west. You would be amazed at scarcity of imported goods over there.

Well Im also tried to to show more support for game as I also writed some comments on YT but I have hard to call If this hate isn't an continuity thing from people who are just to say they're arrogant to the high point that they don't see others point of view and they think that they're great so other people dosen't count.

If the Japanese really are as xenophobic as so many people make out, I imagine 'DmC' to be quite the "F-YOU" to some Japanese fans of the series— since it's been specifically re-designed to cater to Western tastes. I can quite understand their anger, actually, since it's so blatant, and with the way it has panned out so clumsily between NT, CAPCOM and the fanbase. Nope, sorry, screw you, we want those Western $$$s.
