DmC 2 might not be from NT?

I'm waiting on Capcom pulling a Megaman and cancelling a DMC game mid-development.
I sorta doubt it will happen. But if it does, then I can't say I didn't warn you all.

I'd like DMC5 and DmC, but in the end, I'll have to go with whatever Capcom decides.

Capcom have made this decision to reboot, and even though sales were bad, I'm wondering if they will continue it just to save face? They put a lot of faith in it paying off, and it hasn't, but I'm not sure if they will give up on it so quickly. They might make one more game and then go back to DMC5 or just stop it all.

Go to say, if they start afresh, what would they do? I really hope it doesn't mean Capcom making a reboot of a reboot. That would be plain silly.

God no. Please, God. No. Nooooooooooo!
No, I mean that they'd make a new game franchise not connected to DMC. Just something new. Maybe a hack and slash as well. Somehow, I get the sense that they might make a DmC2, because it didn't sell that badly. DMC5, I don't know, I'm not getting my hopes up.

If they did that, I would jump ship and not play a Capcom game again....actually, DMC and DmC were the only Capcom games I played....I think>_<

MegaMan.......

BWAAAAAM!

Anyway, this is exactly what I'm betting Capcom will do.

See this picture, here?

I've heard that fans reacted the most positively to that version of Dante.

It may not be a reboot per se, but it'll most likely ignore (most of) the previous storyline and start afresh with whatever new adventure Dante happens to be on.

Sort of like Superman Returns, and the fact that they ignored S3 and S4 when it was released back in 2006 (that's the best example I can think of).

Not holding my breath cuz knowing how Capcom is, it might end up the same fate as DMC4.
I would hope by now Capcom are able to learn from their mistakes when it comes to making games. But since they tried to put the blame for games they chose to outsource, I'm not sure....just going to keep my fingers crossed.

That makes more sense. But imagine another rebooted Dante walking around. It took me a while to like this one. I don't want to see another so soon. :P

Nah, they've done TOO MUCH BULLSHITTING from DMC4(as a whole) to RE6. I somehow hope Capcom gets their sh*t together if they are working on a DMC game too but if I see one gameplay vid of it showing the same crap from DMC4, unfinished or not, or doing another reboot on DMC, I'm trading ALL the Capcom games I played, especially the DMC games.

What crap from DMC4 do you mean? The backtracking? Its gameplay was fine, otherwise.

I have no idea what Capcom will do or should do.
I just fear that whatever they do regarding Devil May Cry would start another war between fans. As it had already been said here, the problem is that by creating the reboot, they have divided the fanbase, and will end up disappointing one part or the other... <-- pessimist side taking over, sorry.
As for me, I didn't feel the need of a reboot, but I'm not a good judge of this, having become a fan of the series only very recently. But then DmC came out and I started appreciating it (you would laugh and facepalm if you knew what convinced me to give it a chance, even if I came to love it for its real merits:P ), to the point that right now I'd rather have a DmC2 than a DMC5. But if DMC5 comes out instead of DmC2, I have no intention of letting the chance go of having some more fun with this series...

Got to say, they've left it quite a while if they are going to bring out DMC5. Or maybe leaving it a while is the right thing to do so that people can approach DMC5 with a fresh outlook- players and developers.

For someone who cares about the DMC series you sure as hell are just willing to shrug off the definition of lazy and the obvious disservice Capcom gave you with DMC 4. Are you just in denial or what? I don't understand this anymore.

Yeah the gameplay was fine, but that was the only thing good about DMC4. I meant by rehashing the game mechanics.

But didn't DMC3 do kind of the same when compared to its predecessors? And DMC2 to DMC1 as well? It keeps being a rehash, doesn't it? Even DmC was kind of like DMC4 again. I'm not sure how you could change that aside from changing it into a totally different genre of game. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean by game mechanics. Anyway, I need to go. If I respond, it'll be tomorrow :(

I'll understand what you mean when you explain what you mean, not before. DMC4 was not as good as DMC3, but it definitely wasn't a bad game either. The backtracking was probably the worst part. If you think otherwise, please explain instead of saying ''are you just in denial or what?'' because I can't smell what you're referring to. Do you mean Nero? What is it?

Right, anyway, later.

Yeah you misunderstood what I meant. If I wanted a DMC5, I want it to be at least have a 75% new feel just like how DMC3 was, you know...

Started from the bottom

Now we're here

I kinda agree that DmC was a bit like DMC4 gameplay-wise with Dante feeling a bit like Nero (but faster) but it did brought in a lot of unique features, not innovative, but unique. Of course, that's the reason why I want a DmC2 over a DMC5 in the first place.

When you grow up do you want to be a tree? Acorn becomes tree. Acorn becomes tree. Acorn, tree.
An oak tree? *_* with some sunshine, near the park?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've come across many cases where people just couldn't accept any argument from my part. Every single time they'd respond, eventually devolving into ''no it's not'' and ''that's crap'', without explaining why they think that. There was even one time when somebody said my comment was useless - in a thread in which we were speculating on Nero's origins, no less. Speculating! And he called it useless because it was speculation. Those types of things really **** me off, even now, and I still can't keep quiet whenever that gets pulled on me. Nor would I want to.

Still, I'm glad there's people like you to keep things on track and in check and all that. Besides, we're all the same in the sense that we all like Devil May Cry, and came here from having grown up with those games. It's so... beautiful... *starts sobbing uncontrollably* :troll:

Daw, come here (snuggles)

As opposed to Unknown, I want DMC5 released so I don't have to put up with the idea that the only Devil May Cry I could play is a derivative that is not actually DMC but merely resembles it.
All I said was that I didn't care about the series and have given up on it. I never said I didn't want DMC5 to never be released.
That, or just stop making both and start afresh. It's not like we need DMC to survive, anyway. Just end the DMC series, and we'll see what happens from there.
That's what I recommended just now a few posts above this one with the new Dante. Like I said, I'm not opposed to anything. But I really don't care, either.

Guys, we all know DMC4's gameplay isn't complex and was meant for casual gamers. I mean, damn! It's so easy to stay in the air and scoring a triple S is like getting a FREE LOLIPOP! :troll:

...or piece of pizza...with no olives...
