The positive thing to come from this is that Capcom hasn't forgotten about the brand and wants to make sure it owns all aspects of it. However, I will not take this as a sign that a new game will be made. No way am I holding my breath for that one.
I wish they would, but, right now, not very likely that they will do anything.So...what, now they have both names trademarked. I wonder if they actually will have plans for both?
I'm with you on this one. Whether it will be DmC2 or DMC5, I don't care anymore...The positive thing to come from this is that Capcom hasn't forgotten about the brand and wants to make sure it owns all aspects of it. I'll just sum up how I think everyone is feeling...
This sort of thing is just ridiculous. Maybe I should take a trademark out on the word 'The' and then have people pay me every time they use it.
Devil May Cry Devil May Cry.Technically, "DmC" is just a colloquialism, and an abbreviation. DmC's actual title is legitimately just "Devil May Cry", but "DmC: Devil May Cry" is just used for differentiation purposes. So it is actually still protected under whatever legal contracts Capcom has
Spike Lee has always and still is just a dumb pr!ck anyway. What else is new?Oh, I've seen and heard worse. Do you know that Spike Lee, that established film director, filed a lawsuit against Spike TV because they 'affiliated' his name with a network he wasn't affiliated with? Plus, not to mention Spike isn't even his name. It's Shelton.
Devil May Cry Devil May Cry.
I wouldn't mind either DMC5 or a DmC2. Ideally, I'd want them to make both because I like them too much for Capcom to drop one of them.Well, here's hoping it's a new game. I'd enjoy either a sequel to DmC or a sequel to DMC, because I know either variation of it will still mean hack n' slash fun and aching pain for my poor thumbs.
Maybe they should name the sequel DmD: Dante Must Die, or SoS: Son of Sparda. Something like that.
Me too. I like the Old Series for the aesthetic wonders and gothic atmosphere, and the new one for the movie-esque characterizations of Dante and Vergil. I almost wish that Capcom would do some kind of crossover, but that isn't even wishful thinking...that's sticking my head in a non-existent pot of fanboy-dream gold.I wouldn't mind either DMC5 or a DmC2. Yup, would love for a DmC sequel for a bit more development. Then the next game, BAM, Crossover Bitches!!!Me too.
