Devil May Cry (2016)

I think it could be done as a film and would be better as one as a TV show would never have the budget to make limbo look good enough. I think what you would need is a director who loves DmC and Tameem as a consultant for the film.

Don't know if this has been said already but I can honestly see people relating Limbo to the Inception world if this movie actually comes out.

I think the rights have already went to ScreenGem (Makers of the Resident Evil films). I would say that it's ok if they take it (after all it's DMC, a crazy stylish action game that's all action. It shouldn't be that hard to adapt), but then again, they butchered Priest, I've barely seen many good movies from them, Capcom will take over it and the RE films are pretty bad (especially that...last one). They would probably change the demons to vampires, change the DMC lineage, history, have a love interest with no chemistry, hot girls everywhere, bull**** script, boring slow-mo action and change the characters to make them more generic. I hope the right will be giving to some one else like WB or New Line Cinema.

...if it's already gone to Screengems now, then we can expected them to hand it to Paul Anderson due to his "great" success at adapting(see gutting and mutilating) the Resident Evil series into films.

Which means we should expect Milla Jovovich to sideline Dante and be better, badder, and more Devil triggery than Dante, and generally steal all the good scenes and spotlight. And all the heavy fans of the games will complain, while the general audience will not care who Dante is because he's clearly not the main character according to the films.

...it could make interesting Riff fodder. God knows while I hated the Live action Last Airbender movie, it was fun for tearing apart and drinking games.

...I honestly can't, but then again that could be in part to Trish's design being a lot of T&A, and Milla has...really neither of those in much abundance...

That's true. I do like the Resident Evil movies for their brainless, but awesome action, but they aren't really all that deep when it comes to storyline. However, I feel the same has happened with the games. Milla Jovovich is a good action-actress though and she looks hot. ^^

If they do make a DMC movie, here's how I'd want it to be and have;

1: ACTORS
If this movie is live action then they need to get actors that really make the characters look good, and not go shallow with it. Actors who actually pay attention to the characters they're portraying and follow them to a T, while also adding their own spin on the character.

2:EFFECTS
This is important for a DMC movie. DMC has always been about fast action and every now and then, a slow motion scene. So go at it like blade 2 and Ultraviolet did or Aeon flux with it's cinematic fight scenes or get the people who worked on the choreographing for DMC3.

3: ENVIRONMENT
The setting has to be at least a bit spacious for it to work. Don't just seclude in one small area but expand like they would in the RE movies at least. Go around the world with those extremely high budgeted back grounds.

4: A GOOD PLOT
At this point in Hollywood, if they don't keep the story of DMC to its roots at least and it's linage then this movie will be a fail. I think they should just try and keep the story close to the original story and not try to fray from the path at all.

4: NO CHEESY ROMANCE
Don't add any of that cheesy romance bullshit where the female lead is someone who we never saw before, the two have differences, they start to like one another, something happens to the woman, and it's up to the main character to do something. Then everything's all happily ever after.

And if you do this or f*ck up any of this, then

Instead of the same script as the game
I'd like the movie to focus on sparda's betrayal and it's consequences. It could be like an origin story for the nephilim brothers. It would be better if this would be a more story oriented film than an action one because live action movie mechanics are just gonna **** up the flair of dante's combos.

Tekken was a good movie. :/

I disagree. There were SO many flaws in it. Kazuya shouldn't have a beard, Anna and Nina hates eachother in the game but work together in the movie, Nina's fight was less than underwhelming, the fights in general were rather boring, Heihachi looked ridiculous and the story overall was predictable and boring. That's my opinion of it though.

However, DOA was funny and didn't take itself too seriously, Street Fighter the Movie wasn't all that bad, but my favourite of the bunch is Mortal Kombat the Movie which was actually a pretty good depiction of the games... MK: Annihilation was bad and cheesy as hell though.

Residen Evil are well-made and well-written ACTION movies. They are full of action and awesome fight scenes which is what matters when making a cool action movie.

Which Tekken movie? Live action?
Yes.

I loved the Tekken movie mainly to the stunts and fights. The yoshimitsu fight was... eh, but overall they did a phenomenal job with the stunts.
As far as story goes... well, all the female fighters were hot soooooo. It gets a solid 7/10 from me.

There were a lot of differences in story for sure... but I dunno, it being a tekken movie I just don't care about the story what soever. I think it nailed it, great fights, no story... the only thing it lacked was humor.

But horrible adaptations of the source material. the RE movie Quintelogy(soon to be a sextilogy) would have been better off as an independent series not piggy backing on the name of Resident Evil since they forced the plot of the games to conform to a totally seperate story after the first one instead of, you know, ADAPTING the games like their set up implied.

They are still awful as films themselves. The story is incoherent, the characters are underdeveloped and cardboarded, the acting is pretty bad, and the dialogue is god awful. JeremyJahns is a big RE fan and he went into full detail how Retribution is bad on it's own.

What's sad is that the first was was decently okay as a movie, but after that...it's like they were TRYING to be bad movies with overblown budgets
