Name: Fear

Description: A mysterious entity whose main appearance is just a dark shadow of a human. It can take any alternate form it so wishes. It engages its enemies by passing through them and absorbing information from them, such as memories and abilities. With such information, it is able to scare and intimidate its opponents by altering itself into whatever it is they fear the most (Hence the name). Also it can read its opponent's moves, meaning it can dodge effectively. And it gains the experience/expertise of its enemies, making it a deadly foe.

sounds epic, and to be honest sounds like something that would be in the new DmC

This sounds cool, especially the part of walking through its opponent in order to gain info on which the form it takes will be based on. Whatever would be the thing Dante fears the most...? Or then the boss character would be such a mischief-maker that it takes the form of Eva.

oh man wouldn't that be tragic, dante having to fight a figment of his dead mother eva

I don't think fighting something that looked like his mother would scare him, since he had already had the same scare when he encountered Trish. So personally, he's past that. I think it would **** him off more than anything.

Glad you liked the idea though.

good point, but if this fear guy was in the reboot before trish i think it would really mess dante up lol

^Mess Dante up especially if the Fear dude made itself a perfect doppelganger down to every move and voice; if Fear was able to use memories as it wishes, it could be very realistic.
But then again, if Dante was able to tell himself that it's not his mother, he could probably be super fueled up to delete the existence that mockers his mom.

But really, what would be something that scared Dante?

Well Fear doesn't just mimic one thing, it can mimic several things. Basically, it doesn't just take the form of one thing, it can take multiple forms all at once. It can portray things that Dante doesn't like, try to intimidate him. But ultimately, I think Fear would find it hard to actually genuinely scare Dante. But it would definitely screw around with his mind and make for an interesting fight.

Yes, it would be very interesting fight. I guess that even if Dante wasn't actually feeling scared by Fear, if the boss played mind games with him, it could mess him up pretty bad. But it all depends. I suppose it would be fascinating if Fear was able to create up whole illusion environments, like if the battle started out in a normal room, but then the room would seem like a location Dante isn't particularly fond of, then change again and again etc. Or something.

Yeah, Fear can do absolutely anything to scare/intimidate its opponents. From playing out painful memories, to changing environments, to taking any form of something someone is afraid of. Not to mention that Fear would gain Dante's expertise to a degree, so he'd be facing himself basically. That would be enough to worry him, plus Fear would be messing around with his mind at the same time, so the fight would be tough and interesting.

Oh my, it begins to sound like that Fear could work as the last boss of a whole game, haha! Though, if the game is not totally about Dante learning to be what he is and accept it, such a fight in the end would be rather pointless. But there is the potential, so as a sub-boss or something, I'd like to see an enemy like Fear.

Fear would only be defeated by sure will. Batman did it, and so did Naruto's friends. If fear were to fight dante in his later years, i dont think dante would have a problem because he's seen his fair share of self defeating horror and no demon has ever tricked dante. Dante is the man to beat at the poker table because his outer appearance is masked for whats really kill/driving him inside. As for dante in DmC. Fear would take him out without even knowing. Dante is still coming into terms with.... basically everything and he has power/ego to mow threw anyone who stands in his way, except Fear.

Thanks to what you said, a corny scene like this ran through my head:

Fear: *shows scary stuff to Dante*
Dante: "Ugh, what the hell...?"
Fear: *shows more scary stuff*
Dante: "Gaah, I can't take this anymore...!!" *hits his head against a wall deliberately and faints*
Fear: "Was it supposed to be this easy?"

^^ Did i order some extra cheese?

how pathetic right?
But dante is no stranger to beating demons with help. All it takes is a little precised timing from someone else to turn the tables around:cool:

What i really want to see is when Dante first gets killed and ... well..... he doesnt die. That will give you a crap load of experience points!

I admit, his line is cheesy. But come on, what else was I working with :P

"All it takes is a little precised timing from someone else to turn the tables around"... Dante would be in a pickle if there were no people to get their timings right. xD

Ah, but the more people, the more Fear has to work on. Plus Fear would also gain their skills too, meaning even with more people the fight would still be as even as it was when it was just him and Dante.

"Behold! The Power of Cheese!!"
woops, wrong demon

"All your efforts as a demon hunter is futile, in the face of FEAR:mad:" oooOOOOOooOOOOoooo

...more cheese
