How did you feel when you first heard about DmC?

I joined two-three different forums and got my ass kicked on IGN for this game so I hope its worth it.

But as of now, I'm 50/50 as some of their decisions like completely changing Dante seems stupid to me and they have bad pr.

When I saw the original trailer I was immediately behind it, I was waiting ages for a new DMC game to be announced. While watching it I had no idea that the character was Dante, and when he says "My name is Dante" I was shocked. I even joined the theories about him being an impostor or something. But I eventually grew fond of the new Dante, mainly because he was different to the old Dante. I was (and still am) looking forward to his new back story, I also like his look (I didn't like his hairstyle though, his current one is better). I liked the dark gothic look of it, it seemed a lot more like the original, so I was a little dissapointed when the demo's revealed it to look similar to DMC 4. At the time I heard of Ninja Theory, I played the HS and Enslaved demo's. As soon as I saw the demo's I was happy to see that it resembled the gameplay we've grown accustomed to. I played HS earlier this year (or was it last year? I can't remember! :P), and really enjoyed it, the graphics are really great even to today's standards despite being 5 years old. The cutscenes are some of the best I've ever seen in a video game, so i'm really looking forward to the story of DmC. And the gameplay was enjoyable. So yeah, i'm still looking forward to it :D
 
At first i thought DmC resembled dmc2 a lot, but dmc2 had basically the same levels over and over and everything seemed the same except for the last part. Already in DmC there are some pretty interesting places that i can't wait to see in full HD. Like the tunnel with the blue lights to grapple on, the carnival, and more of the city with that giant statue in the middle. NT's team, when it comes to detail, will make this game look beautiful and hopefully its a creepy beautiful. I already think the music is in the right direction with plenty of ominous sounds from the music.

My first thought after i watched the first trailer was that it looked cool but wasn't really devil may cry and the new Dante was ugly. I was only mildly interested. Then later trailers showed devil may cry gameplay, an improved look for the new Dante and showed a little bit of Dante's personality. I am now excited about DmC. There is no game I am anticipating more than DmC.
 
i've been excited for the reboot since day 1. Dante has new realistic hairdo,COOL!!! Dante smokes,AWESOME!!! Dante implants cigarette on demons face,BADASS!!! Dante has a new Short JACKET,WONDERFUL!!! Dante is fighting with rage and seriousness,AMAZING!!! Dante jumps backward off a building,NEAT!!! Dante is all bloodied and beaten,NICE!!!

Then comes the vague rumours but i was confirmed that it was indeed a reboot i didn't even bother to watch another trailer but when i watched i wasn't really pleased they're were just a rehash of DMC4's gameplay with zero creativity

Well i think this theory fits 10000% perfectly "A first impression is a long lasting impression" TGS's impression was so great that fans are still repelled by hearing the mere name of DmC well it may not be the case of others i don't really care much of this game even now​

EDIT: I have no objection in making him look gloomy serious or bruised BUT he's DAMN ugly and scrawny which i cannot approve ! and btw he dresses like a jerk !
 
Just a friendly reminder: I'm not tolerating any fighting. :steve: I guess the reason why my opinion changed was not only because of the gameplay trailers, but because I thought that if even DMC 3 was the bane for many, following DMC 2 and all, and DMC 4 was sort of lazy and half-done, what could possibly go wrong?

I liked the new appearance. He looked angrier, like he might shank you in an alleyway. Yet he retains the cocky, smart ass personality. His look has changed from the trailer to demo though. He looks less lanky and his coat changed too.

can't argue with yout on the part about DMC4, since they did remove a lot of the story if I remember an article correctly, and capcom didn't even try to make a quick buck on the removed segments.

Equation is something like this :-

Dante DMC 1 = Quarky&Badass looking making "Cool" one liners which is actually "cool"
Dante DMC 2 = gloomy&Badass but really silent he rarely speaks but the basic appearance is the same from DMC1
Dante DMC 3 = OverlyCocky&Smartass charming somehow Still manages to be "Cool"
Dante DMC 4 = behaving like a complete idiot and dresses like complete idiot only makes him look like a clown

Dante DmC = now he wears skin tight pants his jacket is just awful[i mean the basic design is awful not being short] and i can't judge his personality until a proper demo comes out but one thing's for sure he won't behave or act like dante did in older games he'll be all new character judging by his looks he may behave like an average teenager in Britain :shifty:

I think he was mature, with a sass to him. And he had his heart on his sleeve sometimes

I don't think he was anything like DMC1. He was the Legend that people spoke of and it seemed like he knew what to do in any situation. He was a hero the most in this game.

I think overly cocky and smartass are one in the same. It wasn't till the end did he show how human he really was. Lady had every right to shoot that bastard in the face.

He doesn't have a British accent and to me he just seems like the OrigiDante but with depth. He actually has something to say thats worth listening too. And his pants are always tight? He's got regular pants on. I've seen people wear skinny jeans and it just looks uncomfortable. To me Neo Dante looks like a regular guy with a Sweet Fade Hair cut. I always thought Nero's jacket was BA because i love hoody's and now Dante gots one too. F**k yea, i want one!

From what we've seen in his personality, is it seems he's experiencing a lot of things for the first time. He does seem shocked by the way Limbo is turning on him but he doesn't turn away from it. Its like he want to test how strong he really is because he might not know any of his limits yet.

He isn't exactly "shocked" he is kinda enjoying the situation and accepting the challenge limbo is giving him he is like DMC3's dante but with different personality traits and attitude DMC1's dante is more aged and mature so he is different from dante from DMC1 he leans more towards DMC3's dante but with less big mouthing and sarcasm

i wonder how vergil looks like basically he should be the quite opposite of him it would be interesting to see how "NT" makes vergil

1. Devil May Cry 2 Dante wasn't really gloomy. He seemed that way because he didn't say a lot, but everything he did say was something DMC1 Dante would say. The personality change was really lazy writers not giving him enough lines.

2. The little bit of DmC Dante's personality that has been shown fits the basic personality of the original.
