I honestly used to be happy with both pets - I used to have exceedingly well-behaved dogs as well as the most affectionate cat you could ask for. But living with the hound thing I have now has put me right off dogs...don't hate them outright or anything, but if I had the choice I'd pick a cat. Plus with a family to look after, a dog is just an extra responsibility I'm not prepared to take on.

Here is my thing with all of this. I can understand why you guys would dislike cats or dogs from experiences, but I don't see why some of you have to state things about them as if it were fact... Stating that either is useless .etc. It's only true to you, in your own opinion.

This is turning into a Nero-esque thread :lol: - I always wanted to get an ex-guide dog coz I'm used to them and they are so well trained it's insane. We had one called Jack who was a wonderful dog - he was huge and very excitable and loads of fun to be around but sadly he became gun shy to the point where he had to be sedated pretty much all the time and my dad had to give him away to be retired...had I the money and the house, I would have had him but unfortunately I didn't
